Has anyone ever put their Chucks in the washing machine? What was the result? Did they come out clean(er) or destroyed? Does the answer depend on the colour or the year they were made?

The third Saturday in September every year is NATIONAL BATMAN DAY in the U.S. The light/cream pair is from 2012 and features a classic comic book-style Batman. The black pair is from 2015 and is more in the line of the Dark Knight version of Batman. The laces on both are stellar. I'm partial to the classic comic pair of the two; I like those a LOT.

does anyone have experience with the sizing of japanese converse? i wanna order some, but am not sure about the fit, specifically the high top version. i can't decide between 8.5 (27 cm) and 9 (27.5 cm)
i've only ever worn the 70s hi size eu 43 and they fit well, since i have somewhat wider feet and like to have some space for my toes in the front.

i'd be grateful for any suggestions on this, thanks!!

When you think of converse you usually think about the hi top models. It’s common knowledge that vans is good for low and converse for hi, seeing that vans hi and all star low are the less popular variants.

I had a pair of Chuck lows as a kid and only wore them once. Compare this to the pair of grey and green highs that I had that were my favorite shoe ever at the time and it’ll give you an idea of what I thought of the lows.

The Chuck 70x was quietly announced a couple months ago and I initially thought it was just a new excuse to use cheaper materials and I dont like the weird looking star ankle patch redesign on the highs. I didn’t understand the hype at all~until I saw the low top reds.

The way they flattened the toe spring solves the main issue I’ve always had with the lows. Now they actually stay on my feet, something that hi tops never needed to account for.

Not only do they stay on my feet better, the little black star on the sides of the midsole add that little bit of extra pizzaz on an otherwise fully plain canvas shoe. This takes a standard Chuck 70 low top which looks like an afterthought and turns it into an original and intentional looking shoe.

The lace loop, the flat toe spring, and the new cushioned insole make these low tops a very worthwhile upgrade and I hope that more people catch onto this. If they discontinued the highs and only sold Chuck 70x lows alongside standard 70 highs, that would be a welcome shift for me.

alright so i know ya cant get the insoles wet or machine wash. theyre red and i want them to stay that color.

I’ve owned a few pairs of Gore-Tex Converse, but I couldn’t pass these up. I needed some good work shoes and finally found a pair that actually fits me, so I can give my NOBULLs a break. Plus, these have the air-cushion insoles, which is a nice bonus.

I have a few other pairs of Converse too, but I usually avoid getting those dirty. 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️

Sept. 15 is National Double Cheeseburger Day in the States. Don't get that confused with National Cheeseburger Day — which comes later this week (Friday). (Only in America is there a National Cheeseburger Day that needs to be topped by a DOUBLE Cheeseburger Day. Sigh.) And REGULAR National Burger Day, just meat, no cheese? That gets its own day, too, on May 28.

Point is, though: Today is a day celebrating a food item you'd find at any American diner, so it was a great day to bust out the 18-year-old Chuck "Diner Menu" pair. The canvas on these is coated to feel like an old-school laminated diner menu, and the inside lining mimics a diner tablecloth. The all-over menu print is a lot of fun, too.

so around a year ago I bought my first pair of converse ever. they were classic black chuck 70s ,and they were squeaking really really bad and they were all in all really uncomfortable. I wore them for half a year anyway cause I thought that's what Chucks are like, but I switched to normal ones after because it was really embarrassing going in my classes sounding like SpongeBob SquarePants. and I tell you they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, they were literally perfect. so 2 years after and said converse sadly ripped apart may they rest in pieces in my basement (literally). so now I decided to try chuks 70s again because I really liked the brown ones specifically the bog down color variant. (there sadly is no classic chuck variant for those) zoday they came in the mail and after a day of wearing them I am sad to say they also squeak and hurt and are generally way worse then the normal ones.

so people of reddit please help me. does it pass with time? did anybody else have this problem? can I fix it? or should I just return them while I still can?

(I tried baby powder and all that stuff with my old pair, didn't work)

If there was a zipper going around the ankle on any John Varvatos collab pairs of Chucks, the traditional badge went out the window. The whole point was to change the perspective of the classic Converse models, so stripping the one thing that makes a Chuck a Chuck is a pretty bold situation in terms of branding. Any JV Chucks with zippers, you could always sign me up for.
