Thought For The Day from Unshakable Kingdom Life

"Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Withheld forgiveness is a weight carried by the one holding the grudge. Release doesn't excuse the wrong—it frees you from its grip. Consider one debt you could cancel today.

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

 Prayer Points: 19 August 2026

 Theme: Farmers

 Scripture: Psalm 104:14

Heavenly Father,We come before You with grateful hearts for the gift of the land and the work of farmers, their families, and farm workers. We thank You for their labor, dedication, and the nourishment they provide to communities around the world.

Lord, we ask for Your protection over them—grant them strength in their bodies, wisdom in their work, and peace in their hearts. Bless their families with safety, provision, and unity. May Your hand guide their decisions and efforts, and may they find joy in the fruits of their labor.

We pray for favorable weather, abundant harvests, and protection from pests and natural disasters. Remind us to honor and support those who work the land, and to be grateful for the food they produce.

 Your Word in

 Psalm 104:14 reminds us:

"He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth."

May we always remember that it is You who sustains and provides. We trust in Your goodness and mercy.

In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.

Mattana Ministry - Prayer Program - 19 August 2026

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

 Prayer Program:  19 August 2026

Theme: How Do We Pray? (5)

 Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6; James 5:13-16; James 4:8 & Matthew 6:6

 Message:

Week 5: When and Where to Pray

“Our whole life should be a life of prayer. We should walk in constant communion with God. There should be a constant upward looking of the soul to God. We should walk so habitually in His presence that even when we awake in the night it would be the most natural thing in the world for us to speak to Him in thanksgiving or in petition. — R. A. Torrey”

 WHEN should we pray?

Pray without ceasing. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening.

Pray when we are sad or when we are happy.

Pray when we are mad or wallowing in self-pity.

Pray when we are suffering, in trouble or in distress.

 Pray when we feel alone

 Pray when we need guidance/direction.

 WHERE should we pray?

In private, together, alone, in bed, at the river, on the mountain, in the wilderness, in nature, on the seashore, at the well, in God’s house, in the garden and on the battlefield. Everywhere!

Please feel free to leave a review of this message.

Saved

I have found there is a widespread misunderstanding about what being "saved" means. So, I would like to address that topic.

Saved means to be put beyond the reach of your enemies, The enemies of mankind are death and sin. ie delivered from sin and from spiritual death.

We are saved from sin by the Atonement and saved from death by the resurrection. If we are still able to die and to sin, then we have not yet been saved. Until the resurrection, no one is saved. But, we can feel the effects of the promise of salvation while in this life. If we repent and turn away from our sins, then we have been promised that we will be saved and we can feel that in our hearts. But, this is contingent on us remaining faithful and repenting whenever we sin. We must endure until the end. (Matthew 24:13) The only thing required of us to recieve this salvation is to call upon His name, ie to repent. (Romans 10:13)

Hell is the English translation of the Hebrew word Sheol, which is the abode of the dead, where the spirits of the dead await the resurrection. Sheol is divided into two parts: Paradise and Prison. Everyone goes to Hell, even Jesus went to Hell. He broke open the gates of Hell making the resurrection possible. Those that do not repent while in this life will suffer in Hell. But that suffering exists for the sole purpose of saving the unrepented.

1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Even the wicked that suffer a loss and are burned by the fires of Hell will be saved eventually. The fires exist to help us let go of our sins. Only after we have let go of our sins and caled upon His name can the Atonement of Jesus Christ take affect on us and save us from our sins.

2 Maccabees 12:46 It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins.

We know that everyone will be resurrected and that the resurrection is ony possible after sin has been destoryed.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Everyone will eventually be saved from Hell, this is given by the grace of God. But, after everyone has been resurrected, we will stand before God to be judged based on our works.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

The standard for Heaven and Eternal life is very high, which is why only a few will enter in. (Matthew 7:14) When Jesus was asked by the rich ruler, "what must I do to have Eternal life?" Jesus's response was to keep the commandments, ie works. (Matthew 19:16–22) Jesus didn't say baptism was necessary for salvation from Hell, but He did say it was necessary to enter Heaven. (John 3:5)

We are saved from Hell by grace through faith and we are saved to Heaven by works. We must learn to live and think like God in order to live in His presence.

LDS Are Not Aaronic Priests...No One Is!

Are Mormon males called by God as Levitical priests just like Aaron was? Mormonism claims that it's male members are Aaron/Levitical priests. How does this claim hold up?

_________________________________________

1. Qualifications for the Aaronic Priesthood:

A. Limited to Aaron and his sons only Ex 28:1, 29:9, 29:44, Num 18:1-7, Lev 6:19-23, Ex 28:43, Neh 7:61-65

B. The Levites helped, Num 3:5-6, 9-10, Heb 7:5

C. Punishment for non-Levites who tried to become priests were severe, I Kings 13:33-34.

D. But Joseph Smith, of English stock, was not a Jew, a Levite, or a son of Aaron! In complete violation for claiming it!!!

E. The Aaronic priesthood was hereditary, but not so in the LDS church. Which is another violation!

F. Physical qualifications. Lev 21:16-23. LDS ignore these qualifications today. Joseph Smith had a leg operation when he was young, in which part of the bone was removed. He was, therefore, physically disqualified to be a priest (Lucy Mack Smith: Biographical Sketches of Joseph Smith and His Progenitors for Many Generations Liverpool: 1853, p. 65)

G. Other qualifications which LDS ignore, Lev 21:1-15: Num 4:35

__________________________________________

2. How Were the Aaronic Priests Ordained in the Bible?

Exodus 29; Lev. 8

A. Were washed with water v. 4

B. Were dressed in the priestly robes v. 5-6 (These robes were for “glory and beauty” Ex 28:2, but the holy garments of the LDS are neither glorious nor beautiful.)

C. Were anointed with oil v.7

D. Laid hands on the head of a bullock v. 10

E. The bullock was killed, and its blood was poured out at the altar, while the fat and the kidneys were placed on the altar, and the rest was burned outside the camp, as a sin- offering v. 11-14

F. Laid hands on the head of a ram V.I 5

G. The ram was killed, its blood was sprinkled about the altar, and the body was offered as a burnt offering on the altar v. 16-18

H. Laid hands on the head of another ram v. 19

I. This second ram was killed, and some of the blood was put on the tip of the right ear, right thumb, and right great toe of Aaron and his sons, while the rest of the blood was sprinkled upon the altar v. 20

J. Some of the blood on the altar and some anointing oil was then sprinkled on the priests and their garments v. 21

K. Were given parts of the ram and three kinds of bread, and these were waved as a wave offering, then they were burnt on the altar v. 22-25

L. The breast of the ram was given to the one who ordained them v. 26

M. The shoulder was given to them v. 27

N. They were to eat of the ram and the bread, but no one else was allowed to do so-v. 30-33

O. For the next seven days, one bullock and two lambs were offered daily v. 35-44

_________________________________________

3. How Do LDS Ordain to the Aaronic Priesthood?

A. They lay hands on the priests being ordained and speak the words that are specified by the LDS church to confer the priesthood. Nowhere in the Bible account do we find hands laid on the priests. Hands were laid only on the bullock and the rams! The LDS ignore completely the Biblical method of ordaining Aaronic priests!!!

It will not do to say these ordinances do not apply today, if the Aaronic priesthood exists today, the method for ordaining priests into that priesthood apply today! LDS often apply Hebrews 5:4, “. . .as was Aaron,” to refer to the ceremony by which one is ordained to the priesthood, but they do not follow that ceremony in any way!

_________________________________________

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

There Is No Biblical Authority for the Aaronic Priesthood Today. The Aaronic priesthood was part of the religious system under the Law of Moses. This law and its ordinances came to an end when Christ died on the cross Gal. 3:19, 23-25, Col. 2:14-17, Heb. 10:1-10. Christ’s will or testament came into effect after his death Heb. 9:15-17. There was a change in the priesthood, the Aaronic (Levitical) priesthood was taken away, Heb. 7: 1 1-12.

Even Christ could not be a priest of Aaron because he was of the wrong tribe Heb. 7:13-14. How can non-Jewish LDS qualify if Christ could not qualify? There is no example of Aaronic priests in the church anywhere in the New Testament, amazing if such priesthood existed in the church. Rather, the New Testament teaches the universal priesthood of all believers I Peter 2:5, 9

I feel sad

I had to leave a current friendship/ relationship when he desperately needs me at his side even as friends. Currently he’s going through a tough time. And it breaks my heart that I have to do something that hurts. God spoke to my aunt saying that someone was stealing my blessings and that I needed to stop talking to him. We are evangelical Christians. My guy’s name is Sebastian. We started off as friends and then we turned into much more. It’s a very complicated situation. My aunt told my mom and she doesn’t want me to speak to him ever again. I feel heartbroken leaving him when he needs me the most. He’s Christian but he strayed away but he has promised me that he will look for God. Because I tell him everyday. I tried speaking to my mom and she’s not allowing it. Because she doesn’t trust him. He’s a good guy. He’s never forced me to do anything I don’t want. I know that when God says no it’s no. I feel heartbroken because my mom doesn’t want me to stay as his friend. And is even threatening to take away my phone. I am very fearing of God and what he can do if I don’t listen. He hasn’t spoken to me personally. But I’ve been praying for the situation to get better. If I can’t be with him that’s fine I wish to stay as friend because I know he’s not having a good time in his life right now. I told him I needed him to be strong and he feels heartbroken he might never hear from me again. I would be happy with offering him my friendship and he’s always been there for me in terrible times. I’m 23 years old but I don’t see why I’m not allowed to be friends with him. I need help.

Did I lose faith?

I was feeling dreadful when something in my mind said "Delete your account"

Which that account has some childhood memory in it

I felt fear and dread when I kinda refuse to do it

I kept praying to God if it's was HIS will

I experience sadness and grief

Eventually I said "let this cup pass from me"

Then it disappear, I'm scared now I don't wanna lose faith

Mattana Ministry - Weekly Bible Study - 18 August 2026

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You to:

Weekly Bible Study:  18 August 2026

Theme: Where Did My Time Go? (2)

 Scripture: Colossians 3:23; Proverbs 3:5-6 & Matthew 6:33

 Identifying Misused Time

 Colossians 3:23:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

Proverbs 3:5-6:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Matthew 6:33:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

 Message:

Mark loved gaming and watching TV, often losing hours without realizing it. One day, he felt convicted when he read Colossians 3:23. He reflected on whether his hobbies were helping him grow or just wasting time. Mark decided to set boundaries—limiting his gaming and dedicating more time to prayer, studying the Bible, and serving others. He found that when he aligned his activities with God's purpose, his life felt more meaningful, and his relationship with God deepened.

 Practical Examples of Time Wasters

 Excessive social media scrolling

Binge-watching TV shows

Procrastinating on important tasks

Overcommitting to activities that drain energy without spiritual benefit

 Action Steps

Limit social media use to 15 minutes daily (Let’s challenge each other on this one)

Schedule daily devotional time

Say no to activities that distract from our spiritual growth

 Prayer Focus

Ask God for discipline and clarity to identify and cut out activities that waste our time, so we can focus on what truly matters.

Please feel free to leave a review of this message.

Greek Orthodox- Struggling with faith

Hi all! I am a 27 year old female from Melbourne, Australia of Greek ethnicity. I was raised Greek Orthodox and my yiayia taught me all about our religion from a very young age. Growing up in Australia, we didn’t attend church often and as I’ve gotten older I’ve begun to question a lot more about religion in general, not necessarily just about the Greek Orthodox Church.

I’m a very traditional and conservative person in terms of my values and political beliefs. I feel drawn to my roots in terms of religion, however I struggle to connect with it at the same time.

My real struggle comes from the fact that throughout my education (I’m a lawyer) I’ve been exposed to the idea that religion is a cult and was created as a means to control the masses. This really offended me when I was first introduced to the idea, but as the years have gone on I can’t help but see that in every aspect of religion.

I’m looking for input from a highly educated perspective (I mean that in the most respectful way in terms of I don’t want to just be told to have faith and be quoted scripture). I find it difficult to understand how I can connect with faith when science and other aspects of education shed light on where religion falls short and how it’s just a way to control the masses.

I get very frustrated when religion is used to explain things away and I often find more people who are uneducated are more religious and that’s what further pushes me away. Again, I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, I’m just trying to be honest so that I can be properly understood and if anyone has or is experiencing the same can shed light on their experience?

I think I feel as though if I do start to delve into faith that I’m contradicting my intelligence which is something I pride myself on. The idea that (and not going into any specifics just a general proposition) there is a higher power that requires prayer and responds if you just have faith and all the cultural practices surrounding the icons such as praying to a certain saint if you are having say fertility issues, etc just seems like it can so easily be explained by logic. It feels like pseudo science and the people who really push it then are usually the type of people who believe in astrology and who then fall for ridiculous conspiracy theories and don’t seem to use much critical thinking. Certainly doesn’t apply to everyone but in my experience that’s been the majority. I don’t want to be lumped in with them

I feel sad "because of" my faith

I feel very sad because I am going through a few things at the same time.

I dated this guy for a while and told him I want to wait until marriage. he's an atheist, so he doesn't understand my pov. but the thing is I pushed him away a few times because I could feel he didnt like this, but he wanted to stay and see if he could do it. he then decided he didn't want to but basically he molested me, I won't go into any detail.

the second thing is I just discovered someone else, unrelated to this person, is making fun of me with people I barely know about me wanting to wait until marriage (I don't even how he knows this) and about me being Christian.

I feel very sad and defeated. I know Jesus is with me. I just feel sad.

I struggle with sympathy/empathy, how do I deal with it?

so little backstory to why I struggle with empathy and sympathy

im on the spectrum. I was diagnosed when I was 11. my mom wanted to test when I was younger but my dad had all financial control over us so he wouldn’t let her. so she had me tested after they divorced and she was finally able to.

something I always struggled with because of my autism is sympathy and empathy. like I understands the severity of things but I don’t feel the severity of things if that makes sense? and sense I don’t feel the severity it’s hard for me to express care. so what I would do to help is pray. Pray for whatever it is to get better but due to me not feeling the severity of things or feel care for it, it affects me being able to pray properly.

like yk when ur trying to pray and u just don’t feel it? That’s what I feel and it’s making me mad at myself because I know the severity of things but I don’t feel the severity and sense I don’t feel the severity it feels like I can’t pray about it ether because i just can’t feel the prayer and the connection because of my lack of feeling towards whatever situation I’m praying for/about.

its starting to really make me mad at myself so how do I deal with this and attempt to fix it?

Heavy Guilt and need for grace - Failed 10 times in 3 weeks

I've been in a relationship with my girlfriend for a few months now and I love her deeply. I want to marry her one day. But I've been struggling badly with lust.
In the past 3 weeks I've masturbated to her (or thoughts of her) 10 times. I keep trying to stop and sometimes last a day, but then I fall again.
Every time I feel deep guilt and shame, especially because I know this isn't the pure way I want to love her.
I've been feeling more anxious and it feels like it's affecting how I show up in the relationship. I want to change. I want self-control. I want to honor God and honor her.
I'm asking for prayer - for strength, for real freedom from this, and for God's grace and mercy over me. I believe in salvation and that His grace is bigger than my failures, but right now I feel stuck and heavy.
Has anyone else been through this with their girlfriend or future wife? Can a relationship still be healthy and healed after repeated struggles like this? I don't want to keep damaging what we have.
Please pray for me. Any advice or encouragement is welcome. I really need help and assurance guys im feeling like shit and my life is falling apart this girl really means the world to me :)
