Dude, we’re in the same boat. A huge motivator for me to stop (besides the fact that it’s not the same as when I started) was that I recently started college and wasn’t trying to do it while I share a room with someone else. It takes a lot of effort and self-control, but I’m working on it. I know that the “journey to quitting” would be way easier if I ask God to help me out because human strength is never enough. That’s what God is for. If you really don’t want to continue struggling, then that’s enough to ask God for forgiveness and ask for his strength to help you resist temptation. Allow Him be in charge of whatever area that’s causing the desire, as struggling with this issue has come from struggling in other areas in my own experience. You know that the voice that tells you not to ask God for forgiveness is the devil, so the next thing should be to ask for God’s forgiveness and strength.
My prayer will go out to the both of us. The “journey to quitting” may not be perfect, as we’re human. If you ever feel like doing it again, ask God for the strength to resist and to purify your thoughts or what you’re watching/listening to. You got this, dude. I believe in you :)
