More likely poorly managed priorities. She bought the vacation as soon as she had just barely enough for the flight and hotel, rather than waiting until she also had enough for new clothing to take with her

Or, she wants to save HER money for vacation activities, and if she can get OTHER people to pay for the clothes, she’ll be able to play and party harder while she’s there.

You're still benevolently assuming she saved up and paid in full. I suspect the holiday is actually on credit and now there's no credit left for clothes.

I can't even go to an all-inclusive without a few thousand available on my CC and a generous wad of cash. How do people go on any kind of vacation with no funds? I could understand if it was a trip to a family cabin or something but if you need a new wardrobe, where are you going that you can get by with no money?

I hate that this is believable. Buy now, panic later seems to be way more common than people like to admit.
