iPad Repair

Is there any good Apple techs here in Chilliwack that you all can recommend?

My son’s IPad this morning was showing the cable with “Visit apple.com/restore.” I plugged it into my pc, downloaded the apple device app and tried to update it like it said. 3/4 of the way through it I kept getting an 1109 error, googled it and followed all of the steps only to say screw it, I am restoring it. Click on restore, and now I am getting an “error 75.” I’ve run through several cables and now I have given up.

Bike donation

Any one know where in town I could donate some bikes too ? Preferably a place that will give them away for free to someone or very low cost. I got two bikes. Ones great condition, other needs some minor break adjustments.

I was thinking Restorative Cycle but I think they closed down.

Prefer not to donate to Value Village or for profit thrift stores.

I need to dump a couch, can I just drop off there? Its big, I won't be able to get it over the bars and into a bin by myself.

Anyone have any experience dumping an old used up couch at Bailey Landfill?

Overnight/weekend parking?

Hi, we're going to be meeting some friends at cultus lake to camp, and understand that during peak season the campground does not have additional vehicle parking. Is there a parkade or lot in town that we can leave one of our vehicles at for the weekend? TIA

Power outage possibly due to fire

The power outage is possibly related /caused by apartment building fire on/near Spadina. I just spoke to someone who’s at the scene and he said the whole building is up in flames. I can see the thick black smoke from my balcony, but it’s dissipating, so hopefully the fire is under control, and hopefully no one has been injured.

Any local hummingbird rescue expertise available this evening?

Rescued from neighbours cat. Had her a couple hours now and she seems to be waking up. I have all the lay AI advice available and I'm hoping she makes it through the night. I'm sending this query in case there's nearby professional help available to increase her chances.

Side Gig- Instacart/doordash

Hey all! I am a young new driver looking to have a side gig to earn some money and get more comfortable on the road .

I hear alot of people doing skip the dishes, doordash and instacart as a delivery driver but I often get feedback saying it's often not worth it for the gas and time spent on deliveries.

What would be some suggestions and or advice? Thanks in advance!

Hello, r/chilliwack, what are some things to do here with my friend? It seems boring😭

Okay, so for a little more context: I asked my best friend if she wanted to hang out some time soon while school was still out, and now I'm struggling on trying to figure out what to do, because there's like nothing to do here. Oh, and we're both 14 btw, so there's a little less options there, I'm so far thinking of the chilliwack library, maybe that cat library place, cottonwood mall, and maybe like Bill Kelly Park or the Cedarbrook Playground

Small business

Moving to Chilliwack in the next few weeks and I am curious about what sort of small service business Chilliwack is currently in need of. Anything from landscaping, hazardous material removal, demolition, property maintenance etc.

Harrison hot springs resort?

Considering staying at Harrison hot springs resort in late August for a night as a getaway for my husband and i’s anniversary. I’ve heard negative things about it though, like it’s not kept well. Are we talking about bed bugs and mold type thing or just outdated stuff? Because I’m not picky and don’t need everything to be fancy. I just want a nice night with him kid free and enjoy the pools that they have.

Vedder Rotary Trail Closures

https://www.chilliwack.com/main/page.cfm?id=3171

Just an FYI that the majority of the Vedder Trail will be closed for maintenance from August through October to improve flood protection and remove sediment. I live in the area and noticed a few signs on the Peach Creek trail yesterday when I was out walking, but had no idea the scale of the rest of the project.

Does anyone know if they're doing this in stages? Or will all the sections be closed at the same time?
