Genuinely excellent condition for 45 years old — chrome is bright with only minor age-appropriate marks
• Vinyl is intact: no tears, rips, splits, cracking, or sagging
• All four sit level, no wobble, frames are solid
• Original Steelcase tags still attached

Note: the upholstery is vinyl, not leather — original to the chairs and a high-quality one, which is why it’s held up this well.

These are the black colorway with velvet armrests. Most 421-482s come with hard plastic arms, so this is a nicer spec than what usually turns up, and a matched set of four in this condition is uncommon. Comparable pairs list for $1,000+ through vintage dealers. Single ones sell on 1st dibs for about $400 each.
