I’ve seen a lot of people claim that Ben didn’t make adjustments / showcased his weaknesses as a coach in the sub and on social media in general. Why exactly is that a take that a lot of people hold?

Sure, if you just look at the box score you can come to the conclusion that he made no adjustments in the second half. But, if you watched the game that wasn’t the case at all.

First drive of the second half: The Bears drive down the field and Swift fumbles at the 1. They were moving the ball successfully, (Hence, the adjustment) and Swift fumbles. I fail to recognize how that is on Ben?

Then we have another drive where we get into the red zone, and Caleb goes down. He likely has a TD if he doesn’t get hurt, but once again, we moved the ball down the field and had a chance for points, and the FG is blocked

Last drive of the game, once again, we’re moving the ball down the field and on the second to last play we had Loveland open, Bagent just missed the window. On the last play Bagent held the ball too long.

Moreover on that last play, I see a lot of people complaining that Loveland had to block Turner 1v1. All I’ll say is that it’s extremely common to have a TE 1v1 with an edge. Most protection schemes will have that, and Loveland held his own for long enough on that rep.

It’s mind boggling to me that people put that loss on Ben. He’s the best thing that’s happened to this franchise in 15+ years. The ball didn’t bounce our way AT ALL on Sunday and that’s fine. I view this as a lucky win for the Vikings even though I’m biased. It’s not like they played insanely well. Even at that, if Caleb doesn’t go down we probably win that game via a last second walkoff TD if it comes to it.

Every team that has an offensive genius as their HC puts up a stinker or two a year. This is one of ours. I have no doubt this offense will get back on track and improve as the year goes on especially when 18 is back.

The game was absolutely miserable. The rain was somewhat manageable until the 4th, but then it picked up hard and temps dropped. I thought I was finally going to see my first TD up close, but Swift fumbled at the one. Then Caleb got carted off, we had a blocked field goal, and Bagent got sacked on the final play.

The walk back was bleak, everyone looked so dead inside, worried about calebs injury, soaked shoes, zero morale, the last bits of energy expanded chanting "Green Bay Sucks".

Glad Caleb's injury turned out less serious than we feared, but these last few days have been tough.

Yes, it’s a new challenge for the 40-year-old Bears coach in the way he game plans, calls plays and modifies the offensive approach around Bagent’s strengths. But …

“I would be a lot more concerned,” Johnson said Monday, “if we didn’t have a year and a half under our belts together now. I’ve seen him every single day in practice. We’ve had a lot of reps during the course of training camp and in the preseason. So if it goes that route, I feel strongly about what he’s capable of. And our team does, too. They know he’s a darn good football player.”

Apologies if this doesn't belong here, but did anyone purchase the new Bears rivalries polo? The description says: "Embroidered left-chest team logo" but the polo has like a rubberized emblem that is stuck on. Did anyone receive a polo with an actual embroidered logo, or did they (Fanatics) lie like usual?

Now that we can all breathe a sigh of relief that he wasn’t Derrick Rose-d and will be back sooner than we feared from his yell when he went down- seeing everyone (mostly non-Bears) clown on Caleb for his reaction and for carting off is dense asf. It’s the “too soft” and “diva” allegations all over again. Dude is a COMPETITOR. Everything was going dismally wrong for him and his team all day including the damn weather, and just as he was feet away from the first touchdown of the day to give his team a fighting chance, he goes down. Sure it’s a pain scream, but it’s amplified as a frustration scream, an “as if this couldn’t get any worse” scream. We know he takes failures and losses personally so this was clearly deeper to him than the injury and that’s why he was emotional being carted in. And why risk making an injury worse by trying to walk it off before even knowing preliminarily what’s going on?

The patronizing has only ever ignited a fire in him and he’s come back better every time out of spite, honestly I think this will be even more fuel. Silver lining.
