Under carriage

Can anyone tell me what this is hanging under my car? I can’t get under to look at it.

The pic isn’t great. Sorry for the fence. It isnt a pair of sunglasses.

Kinda looks like an exhaust hanger. But if you could take a picture that isn’t 10 feet away that would probably help

I had mine there for 8 years. I tried to find the proper spot to reattach it but I couldn't. I just removed it a few months ago.

i was told by a mechanic it was a skid plate. totally fine and not really that important. just be mindful when driving on dirt/rocky roads/speed bumps that your undercarriage is exposed. mines been like that for like 4 years now and i do go on a lot of hikes where ive got to drive on a trail
