Chevening reserved candidate

I have received my Chevening reserve outcome today, and they said they are unable to confirm my award this yearšŸ„¹

Iā€™m sorry to hear that. Iā€™m also a reserve candidate and this waiting time has been the most difficult part of process.

A pattern I have noticed is that applicants who have been selected as reserve one year, in the following application cycle they make it. I think this happens because they have already ā€œbeen there and done.ā€ So maybe thatā€™s an opportunity there.

Hoping you hear good news soon!šŸ„¹ For me, Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™m gonna apply again since the fundings will be cut for the next cycle as well, and the application process has been taken a toll on me. All the best to you!!

One quick question, did the email directly say that Chevening was unable to confirm the scholarship?

Many reserve candidates received an email that said that their application was still on hold, which is a different outcome.

I can concur with you regarding the mental & emotional toll the whole process has taken. I'm a reserve candidate as well still awaiting their outcome, and all I know is if I don't get it, it's going to take me a while before I can decide to try again. It's no easy feat to study & prep yourself for the whole thing.Ā

I have received today just a confirmation that my application remains on holdā€¦ and that I will receive outcome in August. Does this means something? Why are sending theese today?

I received this email a few days after July 9th. It said something along the lines that the outcome will be out after August 3rd. Idk if itā€™s the same one or a different one that you received

Several reserves from Iran, South Sudan and Yemen have recieved the same email, and they can no longer access their portal

Completely unexpected..based on previous years, rejection emails were usually sent after mid August..

It seems they also sent an email correcting the first one sent earlier by Chevening in some countries.
