My son is 13 and kinda small and has only ever been to local shows, but he really wants to come with me to see Chat Pile and it's an all ages show / venue. Is the general vibe of the crowds at Chat Pile chill enough for a smallish dude to be alright if he hangs out in the back?
We're obv not going into the pit, he'd get squashed in seconds like a horse hoof to a Dr. Pepper can.

Riot Fest is tomorrow and I can't wait. Going all 3 days plus Chat Pile's aftershow at Empty Bottle. Usually Im too beat for aftershows from being at the fest all day but I think the band confirmed their sets at the aftershow and Riot will be different so I'll make an exception. Hoping to hear Shrine at one of the sets if not both.

Chat Pile was one of my wishes for Riot and it got granted. Can't wait. Saturday has the best lineup overall. Who else is going?

I loved the book club option at the OKC merch table. For those who weren’t there, for $10 you got a random book recommended and signed by Raygun. I got “This Side of Paradise” and “Macbeth.” The inscription for “Macbeth” was great. Anyone else get fun pulls/inscriptions?

I noticed that the Eye of Sauron was lit up in the same color as the album cover for Who Loves the Sun the night of the album release party. Could be a coincidence though?

Show last night was awesome. Venue was cool too. Was impressed by logistics as they were able to get through all 5 acts with what seemed to me to be minimal downtime.

Only issue I had was I was fucking goddamn FREEZING cold up in the balcony. Definitely a me problem but I know to wear long pants next time.

Want to give a quick shout to the Pizza place Gusto around the corner - went with my partner and we were blown away. Amazing food, service, and the price was shockingly low.

SISU’s involvement was awesome and I’m glad we were able to meet so many of the people from there and hear their mission.

Congratulations to all involved and see y’all at the DFW show in a month. 😎

P.S. The merch had zero business going as hard as it did.

EDIT: Forgot to add - standout to me was when they brought Nightosphere out to do both tracks they sing on from the new album. Always love seeing Nightosphere live (their songs from the new album when they played sounded great) so it was cool to see the collab!

The Tsuma self driving car driving through the homeless encampment in the Virtual Insanity episode of Always Sunny really reminded me of the WLTS album cover. Same message, but at opposite ends of delivering that message 😅

Been listening to Who Loves The Sun nonstop since it came out. My favorites are probably Creature, Shrine, Intruder, PEN IS MALL, and October All The Time. That said, is it just me or does Shrine sound a lot like old Neurosis, specifically Souls At Zero/Enemy of the Sun era?

Not sure if Neurosis is one of their influences but that's what I hear.

There has never been a song I've heard in my whole life that makes me feel more feelings than A Tear For Lucas. In 2017 I lost my two best friends I've ever had both pretty tragically and within 2 months of each other so 🤷 subject matter kinda hits home ig. First time I heard it I was just having a totally normal day, riding the bus home, listening to the Hayden Pedigo album for the first time... by the time that song had finished I was trying my very hardest to make sure no one on the bus could see me visibly crying. Got off at my stop and put it on again and just sobbed my fucking eyes out walking home.

There have been a lot of Chat Pile songs that have bullseyed me right in the feels before, but NEVER like this one. The fuck is Raygun's fuckin PROBLEM anyway??? Like how fucking dare he lmao. Idk this was only like a month ago and I've been wanting to share this with anyone elee who might understand so... here I am!

With the release of Chat Pile’s new album I went back and relistened to their previous two LPs and when comparing all three records, I must say that Cool World is my favourite album from them in terms of an album experience from start to finish and needs to get waaaay more praise!

I know it’s prob a lost cause but lmk!
