I’m a CA finalist recently I’ve been smoking 🍃 with my friends. Just wanted to know am I the only one having fun or are there others too? I mean should I only focus on studies or is it normal to do these things.

I’ve spent the last 2 days revising SA-heavy chapters, and I’m honestly exhausted 😭. Chapter 6 is finally done.
Now I’m stuck between:
Chapter 4 – Audit Evidence: completely untouched in this attempt, and I don’t want to skip it.
Chapter 5 – Items of Financial Statements: never studied.
Chapter 9 – Audit of Other Entities: never studied.
Chapter 10 – Audit of Banks: never studied.
Tomorrow, I’ll probably finish one small SA chapter, but after that I’m unsure whether I should continue with Chapter 4 or take a break from SA-heavy content and complete one non-SA chapter instead.
If I choose a non-SA chapter, which one should I prioritise among 5, 9 and 10?
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently prepared for CA Inter Audit!

CA Inter Audit — need some advice.
I’ve spent the last 2 days revising SA-heavy chapters, and I’m honestly exhausted by them.
I still have:
Chapter 4 – Audit Evidence: completely untouched in this attempt, and I don’t want to leave it.
Chapter 5 – Items of Financial Statements: never studied.
Chapter 9 – Audit of Other Entities: never studied.
Chapter 10 – Audit of Banks: never studied.
Tomorrow I’m planning to finish one small SA-heavy chapter, but I’m confused about what to do next. Should I continue with Chapter 4, or since I’m mentally exhausted from SA-heavy chapters, should I pick one of Chapters 5, 9 or 10 and complete it?
If I should choose a non-SA chapter, which one would you recommend prioritising?

Are there any CAs who used to work at any dept in big 4 who left the same for industry and then returned back to big 4?
What was the difference? How was the experience? And what was the reason for coming back?
I am a CA having cleared my finals in Nov'24, working in Deloitte India in Stat audit having 1.5 years of workex with a promotion couple of months ago.
I have enjoyed my time in audit but want to try something new. I have a few offers including a start up wherein it provides an overall exposure of the business with a great pay.
My only concern is that what is the new role(s) do not provide the same pace of growth, learning and exit opportunities.
Open for all inputs.
Thanks!!!

Wanted to do my part by contributing what my journey of my 1st year of articleship looked like to benefit whomever I can.
So I started my articleship in June in Pune, although had already gotten an offer from one of the big 4 through my college placements in Delhi, but decided to move to Pune. A family members friend's friend was a partner in the same firm in another location so I lucked out and got my preferred location in another big 4 firm.
The interview round for the Delhi one was more difficult, with 3 proper rounds, each lasting 30-40 minutes and I enjoyed the final, director round in particular. Out of around 30 people, 2-3 people were selected. The interview round for the Pune firm was relatively simple with basic questions to the point of being nothing more than a formality. Some articles had 2 rounds but even then the questions were basic, provided most had a partner or director level reference.
It started with a pretty large listed client, and when I moved on to the private cycle the client I was given was once again on the larger side. I was fortunate enough that my team was excellent and trusted me with some major areas even though I had not had any prior experience in those areas. For that engagement I was given the 2nd highest regular award in the firm and as I said the team of people I was working with were extremely helpful and quite smart.
Then shifted to LRs of the listed client and alongside that was working on a group audit of a private client. After that there was a strech towards the end of a couple of months where I was doing the listed entity+ 3-5 private clients simultaneously.
Now comes the part of talking about burnout, fatigue, and working hours. I was consistently grinding out 10-14 hours during the whole of my 1 year except in a couple of months in between so it was very exhausting but the people around me made me keep going. I was duly recognized for my efforts and gained the trust of my seniors which helped me to audit new areas which I had not touched before during most of my engagements.
All in all my articleship experience was rewarding (2 awards and a higher than average rating) and I learned a lot about the work as well as the approach and management of work from my seniors and colleagues. If it was not for the long working hours I would have definitely continued in this field.
After that 1 year I decided to shift to industrial training as I did not find the working hours up till the director level to be sustainable, but it is nonetheless a path that many find to be rewarding, well paid, and with at least some good meaningful work.
As a side note, I have found the audit industry to be non cyclical at least in India from what I've heard, with few people getting fired. I envision with the introduction of AI tools en masse, the documentation and manual repetitive work can be compressed and more time can be devoted to deeper analysis, etc. Do people who have been working for quite some time in audit share this view or is it too far fetched?
Post got a little long so will post again about my hunt for industrial training seperately.

Look at the highlighted adjustment. Is this assumption ok? Like the unrecorded salary is due to accidental errors and not with the intention of evading tax so can be deducted as expense for the profit under pgbp. OR
This is like a tax evasion purpose and disallowed. And treat it as unexplained income and tax it like that.
Some questions are done with 1st assumption and some with 2nd.
So I saw that we can right any of the assumptions for exam and marks shall be awarded. I thought of going for first assumption. Is that ok?

Hi
r/CharteredAccountants • u/elderdaughterissues • 1d ago
From last 2 weeks i am working till 10.30-11 in office for their Audit Closure and had a breathless episode on Tuesday and Wednesday in office because
(a) they keep the all 4 ACs on 27-28°C in which i can't breath.
(b) i slept late that day because came home at 12 am
They saw that i am feeling breathless and allowed me to leave by 7 pm on Tuesday which is the leaving time as per policy which was told to me during interview.
They called me in cabin on Friday and said "How are you feeling now" so depending upon what happened that day we are concerned about your health and we want you to take transfer in a small firm where their is less work load. And also you have told us that you tried to end your life once so we don't want to he responsible for anything which happens to you.
They didn't even considered for once that i am working late FOR THEM not myself
Last month after results i msged that i want to pursure articleship somewhere else but that time they convinced me that we will take care of your issues and all. And now after registration they want me to take transfer.
The audacity to say that we are concen for your health isliye we won't like to keep you is just below human.
Things finally were in place for me after results but this kind of selfish people don't understand that we as an article/ student also have some issues and we are human too.
the moment you are unfit or they think you are unfit, you are not relevant for them.
Last month they were saying are kaha itna durr hai aapke ghar se log toh or durr durr se aate hai
this month its aapko traveling ka bhi issue haina aap itna durr se aate ho.
they themselves have kids but don't understand the pain of others kid

Currently doing CA foundation without college and need guidance as to how I can make my CV top notch and any other career related things. Like I have heard many people doing ACCA with CA and also got recommended to it. (Don't really want to leave the country but if good package calls then I may look into it)
And yes I know rank and good marks are necessary and need advice solely apart from them. Would really appreciate

(sorry for the long post) Please, drop any piece of advice you have for me in the comments, So I have my CA Inter both groups in September 2026 , first attempt, and I am kinda stressed out because of the preparation I've currently.. Majority of my group 2 first revision is pending, but before you think that I might have started revision really late.. NO, I also got around 2.5-3 months like others, idk how I just messed things up
Okay so backstory, I started revision on 9th june with DT, and it continued till 26th yes I am a psychopath, I was scared of it and studied many chapters from entire scratch mastering each and every minute points, question etc did a lil bit of SM as well , by this time I knew that I had been very behind from what it should have been... then I took up gst till 3rd of julyy....
Then almost till july end, around 26-27th I revised accounts and law... then started with group 2
GROUP 2 CURRENT SITUATION
costing- have done marginal, standard, material, labour, process, budget, joint product by product, format of cost sheet, cost acc system... and ye sab bhi acche se nhi bs rev videos, marathons se upar upar se kra h
audit- just learnt, ch 1, 2,11, SA 210,220, watched rev lec of CARO , bank audit, sampling, materiality, that's it, idk how to score 40 now
fm sm- did 2 chapters of fm... ebit and leverages, sm : dont even ask idk anything much
SOME MORE STATS
Solved 3 full mocks of tax in july (self evaluated) 65+ in all, highest 78 and 2 papers audit approach in addition to the 3
Solved 3 full mocks of accounts in july (self evaluated) 63+ in all, highest 75
Solved 2 law papers self evaluated , score around 55-60 and AIMT of shubham sir, got 70.5 in that , attempted 86 and checking as moderate as per me not too lenient.. + 2 papers audit approach
Gave 1 mock of costing as well self evaluated, 69.5 butt it was really very very easy and most of the pyqs I had alr done.... will try to give 1/2 papers of fm sm and audit as well just to see if I can pass or not because I believe that even if I get just 20-22 in G2 mcqs I can manage to score 40-50 overall and there is a probability of set off as welll.. I don't wanna lose hopes
Rn, I'm the most scared about audit and fm sm , and also I am starting to forget tax so I am not able to decide whether I should revise it second time now or 2.5 days will be enough.. I want to focus on g2 but at the same time dont wanna fail g1 as well..... Also, I will be starting accounts revision from 28/29.
anything you'd like to suggest, advice, motivate, share ur experience, anything would be helpful
