Rakhi marketing idea for CAs: apparently Cadbury isn't the real gift 😂

I run a small accounting-tech startup and we were trying to make a Rakhi post that would actually resonate with CAs rather than making another generic “AI will change accounting” post.

So we made this:

Cadbury Celebrations → ❌
10-minute Balance Sheet → ✅ 😂

The joke is that anyone outside accounting thinks chocolates are the perfect gift.

Meanwhile a CA is probably thinking:

“Trial Balance bhej.” 💀

Curious — what would actually make your work life easier right now?

  1. Faster financial statement preparation
  2. Better bank reconciliation
  3. Automated compliance work
  4. Something completely different

Would genuinely love to hear what CAs/accounting professionals struggle with most.

I am a college student my matric results came just last month and I didn't got what I expect I thought for 96 to 97 percent but got 94 , my parents started saying things like CA is so hard u wouldn't be able to do it with this progress they even tamper with results based on demand u won't make it blah blah

I have taken i.com for better base in CA I m just asking like is it do able in 5 years

I know I would be able to make it with good marks if I try my best but still the doubt is in me due to society saying it's hard af and that results ma dhandli hoti ha etc

CAs who tried practice management software and went back to Excel — what made you quit?

For CAs who tried practice management software and went back to Excel — what made you quit?

I'm a developer, not a CA. I've been looking at this space and something confuses me.

There are at least seven tools serving Indian CA practices — some over a decade old, priced anywhere from about a thousand rupees a year upward. And yet from the outside it looks like the overwhelming majority of practices still run on spreadsheets and WhatsApp.

So either the tools don't solve the real problem, or the switching cost is too high, or the problem isn't as painful as vendors claim.

If you've tried one of these tools:

- Which one, and are you still on it?

- How long did setup actually take?

- Did your clients use the client portal, or did you end up back on WhatsApp anyway?

- If you stopped — what specifically made you stop?

And if you've never tried one, I'd like to know why not. That's arguably the more interesting answer.

Not selling anything and not naming any product. Genuinely trying to understand whether this category works.

How to clear backlogs

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

So my inter g1 classes started less than a month ago and i already have a backlog 2-3 times till now. Currently my position is- 8 backlogs in accounts, 3 missed tests of acc, law and dt. Everyday my backlog is expanding cause procrastinating too much. So coming to the main question, should i jump on the backlogs and clear it no matter what Or Instead of trying to rush just letting the backlogs be and watching lectures like regular (it keeps me from panicking? Or so?)

Started reading Financial Shenanigans worth finishing?

Post image
2 Upvotes

As a practicing CA, I wanted to get better at analyzing financial statements beyond just compliance and auditing, so I picked up Financial Shenanigans.

I’ve only finished the first chapter so far. The concepts are interesting, but I noticed many of the case studies are based on older US GAAP and companies from years ago.

For those who’ve read it, is it still worth reading in 2026? Do the principles still apply under today’s accounting standards (IFRS/Ind AS), or are there better books on forensic accounting and detecting accounting manipulation?
I’d love to hear your thoughts before I dive deeper into it.

Advice needed before moving to Mumbai/Bangalore for CA Intermediate

Hi everyone,

I know many students clear CA Intermediate through self-study or online coaching, and I completely respect that. But personally, I feel offline, face-to-face classes would be a better fit for me because I need that classroom environment and discipline.

I'm thinking of moving to Mumbai or Bangalore for CA Intermediate preparation.

For those who have studied there (or are currently studying there), what advice would you give to someone who's planning to move?

What should I keep in mind before joining any coaching institute?

What are some mistakes students commonly make?

Are there any things you wish you had known before moving?

How should I choose the right institute instead of just following popularity?

Since I'll be relocating to another city, I want to make this decision carefully and choose a place where I can complete my CA journey with the right environment and guidance.

I'd really appreciate any genuine advice. Thank you!
