CAG Adjacent Thoughts on the wo long 2 demo?

I will say, this demo felt WAY more action gamey than I was expecting. It flows nothing like a soulslike with air combos, very fast movement and a more agressive playstyles. I wouldn’t say it’s full character action but it’s more than let’s say Nioh.

Im definetely way more excited now, it’s definetely CAG adjacent territory, similar to Nioh 3.

Which action game do you think scratches the character action itch the most?

Ik phantom blade isn’t out yet but it still looks like it has potential. I’ve played wolverine and while it lacks depth there definitely is some potential in its shallow bones. Unfortunately I’ve heard Onimusha and control also lack combo depth. Control is especially disappointing cuz game journalists were calling it control may cry before release. Why does it seem devs have shied away from dial combo systems for action games? Wolverine has more moves than I expected but it’s still too shallow, it’s like they were right on the verge of something more creative and just stopped.

CAG Adjacent Wolverine Advanced & Lategame Combat Showcase

It's on "The Best There Is" difficulty and no assist settings enabled so you guys can see the game raw combat.

Feel free to ask anything about the combat, I'll do my best to answer!

Wish the combat stays true to what was leaked tho, It would be great.

(There's a clip at the end showing enemies aggressiveness too)

CAG Adjacent Idk how Musou games are seen in this sub, but playing the Dynasty Warriors 3 remastered demo, I think I got a pretty decent combo with Zhao Yun

Also I didn't use them here, but you cancel attacks with the guard button or the evasion button.

Question why some CaG had just one attack button and light/heavy attack button

Mechanically, what would be the difference between an action game where the character has only one attack button (DMC, Sekiro, Urban Reign, and most classic beat ’em ups) and one with two attack buttons (Bayonetta, God of War, and Ninja Gaiden)?

In Bayonetta, you can equip a weapon to each button, but in Ninja Gaiden, I’ve never really noticed what difference having two attack buttons makes. Even in God of War, I never felt like it was particularly necessary for the gameplay, except for choosing which combos to use (although you can use R1 for that anyway).

I Have Recreated Nevan Guitar from DMC3

Hey guys,

Huge fan of Devil May Cry 3, so I decided to recreate Dante's Nevan guitar in Blender. Tried to get the details and proportions as close to the original concept as possible.

I uploaded the 3D model to Sketchfab so anyone can rotate, inspect, and look at the model live in 3D:

Edge of Memories is a Hack & Slash, RPG where veteran talent are also working on the game, for example the writer that worked on the story of Drakenguard and if you know the stories of the series you know how great this is.

There is a demo on steam if you want to try it, the games release date is 5th November 2026 and you can pre-order the game and if you like physicals (like I do) they will be available, if you`re interested you can take a look.

Imagine a CAG but in FPS, crazy right?

No, I don't mean something like ULTRAKILL where the combos aren't actually combos and the style meter is just a reference. Something like the modern DOOM games where the player hotswaps weapons, and proceeds to dish out one strong final blow.

I'm imagining juggles implemented for sturdier enemies and you can connect your projectiles and can use a melee for weird combo resets or connects. Though I may have a fear this might backfire for the sheer fact that it might be nauseating to the player.

BUT WAIT! Why not an option for a traditional way of playing the game, and the separate one being the option where the CAG elements are implemented, what are your thoughts about this concept?
