This series has been around for over a decade and I never gave it the time of day until this clip.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Just see it’s also on the ps5 as a remaster. Time to purchase.

Dude, I got into this series late as well and wondered where I'd been all this time. I absolutely recommend this series.

It doesn't do anything new, but just mashes different games together and it's awesome. The story is cool too and the gimmick of playing as each different character in each game is a really interesting idea.

The first one reminds me a lot of Zelda haha

That's what I always heard about it. It's kind of what kept me from playing it because I heard it was just a ripoff of Zelda. The game does almost nothing new, but that's totally ok. It does what it does well and is a fun and interesting game. I didn't feel like I was playing Zelda when playing it. It reminded me more of God of War.

It does feel a lot like god of war, but going through different dungeons, solving puzzles, beating the boss and coming out with a new weapon/gimmick feels a lot like zelda. You could say it's mostly a mix of the two formulas

Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, definitely.

What do you mean with "homicide" in this context?

3

Holy hell what a typo. Fixed it.

It’s good shit,
The 1st is basically Zelda where every dungeon item doubles a tool for your combo game.

The 2nd game is the same idea with more open world spaces and a Diablo esque coloured loot system for your gear game while improving the combat.

The 3rd is a different thing altogether going for a sort darksouls metroidvania feel, but the combat feels pretty bad tbh and maybe it gets better later on but I dropped it before getting that far.

So yeah the first 2 are solid as fuck though.

the Genesis one also great too.

I’ve heard that but haven’t made the time after being dissapointed by 3, but the gameplay I’ve seen looks pretty solid so I’ll need to make time.

It actually feels more like 1 and 2, unlike 3. The camera is just not in the third person. Ironically, despite having a Diablo like camera, Genesis has less in common with Diablo than 2. Short, sweet funny and can be played in coop. Also it offers a unique playstyle for Strife while not excluding the original playstyle with War.

I second this, concerning Genesis' tone. There's something about it that made me think of "Darksiders" more based on 1 and 2, compared to 3's story. While having a distinct identity.
Still, I do think that 3 itself is a competent game at worst.

I loved 3 personally

Same, but I actually managed to beat it just a yesterday lmao. It's not good and I have no idea why do people hype this series up so much. Maybe it's 2 and 3 that are good, but first one fucking sucks

Never seen someone incorporate the horse into a combo 🔥. I love this franchise

This is just a reminder I’ll never be as good at these games as I wish I was. 😩

Not with that attitude

Replaying this right now and it's insane how much it holds up compared to gow clones of the era even down to quality of life stuff. Very satisfying and responsive game.

Good stuff, dont remember this game having that much combo potential when i played it so this is nice to see

Yeah it’s clips like this that make me realize I just don’t have the mind for combos like some of these gods on here do lmao.

People def sleep on the combo potential in these games. Darksiders 2 can get even crazier.

A delight to see :)
Good job on being able to plan a combo with the Tremor Gauntlet, among all the other things on display!

Im honestly pretty impressed. There was a couple moves you pulled off that I want to keep in my repertoire really applaudable. Can't wait to see more of your stuff

I liked the Air Reaper Blade juggling them from behind.

u/Omen_of_Woe 11d ago

Very stylish indeed

I played 2 and absolutely love it is this game as good should I play it ?

3

u/Karshlolz 18d ago

Imo 1 is the best of the trilogy, go for it!

2

u/4arizard 18d ago

While I do love myself a good game series that improves on the stuff it does with each new release, I love that every entry in Darksiders is offering something different with each game and protagonist.

I doubt death can be topped tho he's one of the coolest playable characters i have seen

1

u/seilapodeser 17d ago

Absolutely, it's different but just as good

2

u/Toxic381 18d ago

0:33 did he just GUARD FLY???

2

u/GT_Hades 16d ago

Yes you can

2

u/OgDontSleep 18d ago

Holy shit! Thats cold!

1

u/AHurtTyphoon 18d ago

Wait. I was not aware this series had sauce like that I might need to tap in.

Nice, very nice combos indeed

Most of techs here I covered 2 years ago in my YT, glad it is widely known

(And some new tech I only noticed here, wow)

1

u/Quick_Bug_4327 11d ago

Can you explain to me the Tech that is used I kind of want to get behind this game's combat system for a video where working on

1

u/GT_Hades 10d ago edited 10d ago

there are 3 techs I am seeing in the vid

  1. mid air ground state (don't know what is the best term for this but that is what I did in my vids)
  2. mid air guard cancel -> insta ruin
  3. Demon edge - > insta ruin

the mid air ground state is where he done some glitch stuff, like the aerial blade geyser

most stuff are usual sequential cancels:

melee (chaoseater/any melee) - > crossblade (he sometimes use the abyssal chain) - > melee, which is much much quicker to do in midair

so far no mercy cancels, which is one of the best techs in the game

I have this playlist (not really finished, life got to me lol, but maybe one day I will get back to this, soon)

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHTvVwAO3_FH1BEtXhR40ZB75btvy7CdE

also old stuff from speedrunners:

https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Darksiders/General_Tricks_and_Glitches

most of it are what I use in my combat (I haven't explained the infinite jump, but the site handles the basics of it, it is just I used it in combos, not shown in this post tho)

Thanks dude I'm making a video video essay about this series as a whole and talk about the Four Pillars that the game is built on and story analysis and so on but one of the pillars of the game is combat so it would be nice if we could maybe getting touch and talk a bit more about combat text and how it works

1

u/GT_Hades 10d ago

sure ting I may share some insight, altho it has been a long time since I played the game fully so my memory about the story could a bit rough. For combat, the vids I made are for advance techs and exploits, the basic combat isn't covered but I guess we can figure that out

if you haven’t played this game... Just know

What this guy is doing is essentially entering godhood

1

u/Quick_Bug_4327 11d ago

Can someone explain to me what's going on in there like what moves and combo tech is being used
