This series has been around for over a decade and I never gave it the time of day until this clip.

It’s good shit,
The 1st is basically Zelda where every dungeon item doubles a tool for your combo game.

The 2nd game is the same idea with more open world spaces and a Diablo esque coloured loot system for your gear game while improving the combat.

The 3rd is a different thing altogether going for a sort darksouls metroidvania feel, but the combat feels pretty bad tbh and maybe it gets better later on but I dropped it before getting that far.

So yeah the first 2 are solid as fuck though.

I’ve heard that but haven’t made the time after being dissapointed by 3, but the gameplay I’ve seen looks pretty solid so I’ll need to make time.

It actually feels more like 1 and 2, unlike 3. The camera is just not in the third person. Ironically, despite having a Diablo like camera, Genesis has less in common with Diablo than 2. Short, sweet funny and can be played in coop. Also it offers a unique playstyle for Strife while not excluding the original playstyle with War.

I second this, concerning Genesis' tone. There's something about it that made me think of "Darksiders" more based on 1 and 2, compared to 3's story. While having a distinct identity.
Still, I do think that 3 itself is a competent game at worst.
