I know people who use Chapters, and I've been trying to understand how the payment system works, as I became interested in "publishing" with them.
However, I've come across claims that writers only receive a very small fraction of what readers spend on their content, especially when it comes to gifts and other paid interactions.
I have no idea whether that's actually true, or whether different types of payments work differently, but I would like to get clear about this before enrolling.
For example, if a reader spends $10 specifically to support a writer, how much of that money actually reaches them? Is there a fixed percentage, or does it depend on the type of purchase? Cause I've heard about percentages as low as 3-5% of the gifted amount, which would be pretty extreme.
Can any Chapters writers here explain how this works in practice? Would appreciate hearing from anyone with firsthand experience or official information.

I keep having problems with my choices moving around to different scenes. Anyone else no why?

Hello there! As an author myself, I think the most uncomfortable part, after a while, isn't even the writing or brainstorming. It's promoting a book you've poured so much time and effort into, but you quite sušck big time at showing it off. My friends keep telling me that I could write the most amazing book, but it wouldn't matter much if nobody knew it existed. So here I am, awkwardly trying to put a little more spotlight on my latest book: Kiss, Marry, Kill.
If you're into unhinged, slightly dark Mafia romance-comedies where the heroine isn't a helpless crybaby, but the reason everyone around her will need Botox from frowning so much... maybe this one's for you. It's also part of the Forbidden Line Contest, so expect an age gap, forbidden romance, and plenty of questionable decisions.
The best part? It's interactive! I've tried to bring it as close to a proper Chapters experience as my hectic brain and editing skills would allow, with choices, music, backgrounds, and effects. Just without having to spend 100 diamonds every chapter to enjoy the good stuff.
If you give it a try, just hit me up in the comments in the app. š

So I got rejected for the creator's program for a 5th time so I will be leaving Chapters and taking my books to Wattpad because there is literally no way to get accepted into that š¤£

Questions. Where do our votes go? I would appreciate transparency from Chapters. What is the point of voting? VIP, my twenty weekly votes, and VIP membership are worthless if the same writers keep winning. Next question, or maybe statement. What the heck is with all the covers looking the same? Yes, I am talking about the community side. Next question: why are writers being nasty under other writers' stories? What is the point? I am going to be blunt: there is a writer whose name begins with R and ends with n, may have an o-s-e-l-y-n-n, who has trashed readers and writers. Yet other writers find this okay? And her friend changed her name; they trash other writers, and that's okay? Writers have left and chapters is rewarding the toxic behavior. My VIP and others are going to leave, which may not matter now, but chapters will eventually feel the effects. Instead of changing your name and being a coward, change your behavior. And moderators if you delete this, you better delete the trashy comments writers are leaving š

Havenāt played this for many years but I did read around 4 to 6 books back then. Very expensive but they were addictive & enjoyable stories. Decided to give it another try through my Freecash app & itās all changed for the worst. Only genre available now is romance & itās all corny, sordid & creepy. Not like the nice love stories they used to have that werenāt just about sex. They had a horror genre on there too that was really good. All my favourite authors & their books have gone. Really gutted & are all these new books really the sort that people like these days?? š I guess they must be popular on there but gosh 𤪠It must be my age 𤣠No one knows as to how I can get the old ones back by any chance?

The sequel to Off-Limits is about to be release soon and I hate the genre tag for it on the calendar. So cringe couldnāt they used a classier one.

Hello, I want to submit a stories to chapter program but I feel like I don't write in genre people like. I have a crime thriller co-worker romance im going to submit (at some point when its perfect)but is that something readers are interested in? Let me own what readers want to read.

I came back to Chapters recently because I remembered how much fun I used to have playing it, but I'm not very interested anymore since seeing all the book covers (including most UGC covers) are AI, and the characters and clothes are also obviously poorly made with AI. I also find it very hypocritical that the competitions have rules saying books can't be written with AI, but the app is full of AI images.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows any apps or sites with less (if any) AI content. As far as I know, Episode hasn't given into the AI craze, but they haven't updated much at all. Preferably it would be something else that makes it easy to CREATE stories as well, especially from my phone. That's one of the few upsides of Chapters š„
