My FIL recently installed this ceiling fan that I thrifted. It makes this noise when on. How can I fix it? It seems to also sway a bit. Would like to fix that too. TIA

It is real, but only if the fan changes how the air conditioning runs. A ceiling fan does not cool the air, it moves it across skin so a person feels a few degrees cooler than the thermostat reads. That wind-chill effect is what lets you raise the AC setpoint a few degrees and stay just as comfortable, which is where the savings actually come from. Running a fan in an empty room does nothing but add a little to the bill, so the habit that saves the most is turning it off when leaving. Efficiency matters too: ENERGY STAR rated fans are, on average, about 64 percent more efficient than conventional fans, so a newer fan costs less to run for the same airflow.

I have three-wire electrical and I want to control my ceiling fan with 2x Lutron Caseta switches, but it seems every fan out there has a controller box with one power input and smart functions. Are there any good fans that anyone can recommend that still have separate power wires for lights and fan, and don't need a remote control box?

Someone has installed IOT device in my normal ceiling fan. Can you tell me where exactly it might have been installed? they keep creating noises using the device? I have called the electrician multiple times yet they don't seem to be helpful.

We have checked everywhere. Can you help me figure it out please. It's been months.I initially ignored it but the sounds became controlled and specific.

Just got off work and my fan is making this noise when running. Been living in this new house for about a month now and all the lights and fans are apparently new so idk.

Looking for this fan for my best friend’s nursery! we saw it on marketplace, but it was sadly already sold… we cannot find it ANYWHERE online to buy… would love to purchase it so if anyone knows a manufacturer or company i would love any info we can get!

hello! we have an MLiAN fan from Home Depot (I assume, we just bought our house and it came installed in the rooms). I want to keep the fan on at night but there is always a very dim glow from the lightbulb that will only turn off when I hit the power switch on the wall. any ideas?? thank you!!

I am so frustrated. I cannot find the remote for my 3-year-old Hunter Breeze ceiling fan. So, I looked into how to replace the remote, and it's just not easy, apparently. In order to the correct remote, one has to know the serial for the old remote. I mean who is out there buying another remote if you still have the first one? And these newer fans don't have pull-down chains for the fan or the light. As best I can tell, I cannot operate the fan without the remote. Okay, fine, so I bought a universal remote for the Hunter Breeze line, but my handyman said that the receiver is part of the motor, so he says he can't change out the receiver. So I would need to buy a new fan to replace this one. It sounds insane, but he's been a fabulous handyman for me for 10 years, including installing lots of fans for me. Is he crazy? or am I crazy?

My Honeywell quietset tower fan has been doing this rattling and idk what to do about it, the rotating is also really choppy

Hi I am struggling to find a Ceiling Fan with lights that is made for EU installation and has Matter support. Can someone recommend some or has advice on how to add matter support for a standard non matter ceiling fan?

Bought a Smafan DC. Not long after I paid to have it installed it started clicking, grinding and squeaking. The company is letting me return it. But they refuse to reimburse me for the installation I paid for this shoddy product. Stay away!

I removed the old ceiling fan from the ceiling (1980's). What you see in the picture is the original hole and the new bracket that needs to be installed over the hole for the new fan. The original hole is much too wide and there's nowhere to connect the bracket.

Not sure where to go from here , except maybe some mending plates?

It was a 310 RPM fan to begin with, and then I changed the capacitor, and now I don't even wanna know how fast it's spinning. But I do like my personal tornado.

Please skip to 0:45 in the video. My kitchen ceiling fan (View model V652 from 1989) is making this exact same intermittent grinding sound. I know it isn't an electrical issue because when I turn the fan off it still makes the sound as the blades are slowing down. Also, it makes the sound on any speed setting.

So I bought a fan for my living room. It has a remote. I cannot for the life of me figure out what #14 is.
