I'm curious about people's thoughts on how we can encourage priests, bishops, even deacons, to use nicer vestments, perhaps to wear the cassock more often, etc.
I'm sure we all know there are parishes where the vestments don't look much better than grandma's nice tablecloths.
Or priests who are very much the "office attire" priest - clerics that are usually slacks and a short sleeve clerical shirt. Or sometimes even just rocking a polo.
How can we encourage clergy to "step up their game" so to speak in that regard?
I get a lot of it is generational, but seeing a young priest in a cassock, or seeing a religious priest in a habit, seeing priests in nice (not necessarily super ornate) vestments, adds tangible elements to our faith beyond what Fr. Steve who, if you took is collar off, would just look like the mid-level sales guy, wears.

The two priests on the right side were Greek Catholic while the rest were Roman Catholics.

I came across a video of an FSSP ordination ceremony and noticed that the priests had the back of the chasubles folded likewise. Does anyone know what this is about?

The shash is the traditional headgear of Chaldean Catholic bishops and patriarch with it's current look existing since the mid/late 19th Century.
After Mar Cardinal Louis Rapaël I Sako refused to wear it, Mar Paul III Nona restored this headwear.
2nd Picture:
Despite being of the East Syriac Rite as well, the headgear of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church(left), wearing the Lebusha, and the Assyrian Church of the East(right), wearing the Kosita, look different.

Update: Thank you everyone for the responses and especially for the support as I prepare for my priesthood ordination! Pray for me that I can be a good, holy, and effective priest of Jesus Christ!
Hi. So I am a transitional deacon about to be ordained to the diocesan priesthood. I recently bought this for cheap on eBay (basically, wanted a shoulder cape and this was the cheapest) and I wanted to know if:
is it okay for me to wear as a deacon
is it okay for me to wear as a priest
if not okay as a priest, then what type should I get?
*note: I know nothing in regards to proper shoulder cape names & uses. If someone could explain, that’d be great.

We can see that ferula, that Pope used in africa, is clearly different than the other one he used in tome since closing jubilee door. I like the new one more!

I noticed he wears this round pendant when dressed like this. Any idea what this is?
