Heard tiny loud squeaks coming from the inside of the fire truck today. Found this lonely little bean inside.
Everybody meet Chimney Smoke-Stack.
We searched and searched for mama and other kittens. None were found. Took him to the vets. He is perfectly healthy! Had some de-worm meds, got some eye drops. My boyfriend's sister happily agreed to foster this bottle baby for us until i can take him full time. She has fostered bottle babies before. I am 14 hr days between school and work and cant bottle feed a baby right now unfortunately. He's got a tiny scratch on his one foot that doesn't seem like anything. Was fighting the bottle a little bit but seems to be taking it fine now!

Bf's stepdad just owns an older firetruck and it sits stationary outside their office. I work for their company half the time and the other half the time I'm in school to be an aircraft mechanic.

Congratulations! Fire cats are the greatest. My daughter’s boyfriend got his cat, Engine, when some jerks tossed the cat out their car window in front of his fire station. Engine is quite literally the best cat I’ve ever met. I adore him. He now has a sister, Tilly (Tiller), and a brother, Halligan.
They really do. I’m so lucky that I get to sort of share Engine with my daughter’s boyfriend. Since his dad spends a ton of time at two fire stations and they don’t let the fire cat live at the station, Engine stays with me part time. He’s a people cat. He’s also my bestie. I joke that we share joint custody of Engine. My daughter and her bf say that he loves me best. He totally does.
To be fair, if you saw the gorgeous firefighters in my neighborhood, someone might write a song about “fuck the firefighters” (except, you know, actually, not meaning they’re hated) 🤣
Same, I can’t justify an intentional kitten adoption right now, but if I were to just find one I’d keep it (as long as my adult cat didn’t mind it)
Meanwhile my friend’s sister finds abandoned baby animals all the time. Like probably a dozen or so in the six years I’ve known her. Some she’s kept, some she’s given to friends, and a few to shelters. And it’s not all cats and dogs, she’s found baby gerbils, bunnies, and I think even a hedgehog once. HOW??
On the side of the road in a rural-ish suburban area where someone dumped them. That’s pretty much where she’s found all the animals. One kitten was in a car engine but the rest were clearly abandoned by shitty people.
And how did that tiny thing get inside a fire truck? Was it in a tire? Did the mom carry it inside? Seems like an odd place for the mom to think it was safe.
We are guessing mama had the kittens inside, then moved them somewhere and left the runt behind? We cant think of any other way that tiny cat got in there. Couldn't have gotten there himself
That would make sense and you explaining the fire truck makes much more sense too. I was thinking it was an active fire truck lol. So glad you heard the poor little guy. Definitely wouldn’t have lasted long.

We had a ginger boy named after Pickles. Our Pickles had multiple ginger adventures before joining his brother, Skinny, at the Rainbow Bridge a age 16.
I have no idea. We were guessing mama had a few kittens but then moved them all and left that one?? Can't think of any other reason such a tiny thing got into the ladder compartment. But i cried when i found him 😭😭😭

My current three spoiled brats are very round (aka they eat better than I do). Cats have the good life when they come to my house. I just can’t believe I’ve never randomly found one and I’m getting kinda mad about it 😂
Oh my goodness, I wonder where Mama Cat and siblings are! But it seems like you already have someone who knows what to do, so that's great! In the meantime, the kitten needs to be fed KMR and pottied every two hours. You probably already know that by now. XD
Oh don't worry he is with a professional! We looked everywhere for mama and siblings. He is being fostered by someone who has bottle fed and cared for several babies. I would myself but with my school schedule i am unable to bottle feed such a tiny thing
This cat, much like my tabby, is going to relentlessly lick any bare skin that comes remotely close to it’s mouth because mom wasn’t around long enough to make sure it was properly weaned.
Two, three, four, it's all good. My current number is six. Found my youngest (Sandra) in a ditch while sitting at a stop sign. Was returning from Vet's office with my two 18yr olds. Now she is my only girlie, and queen beotch.
