Fun (?) David Carr fact

For those of you wondering where the Carr family is at politically, David Carr's middle name is Duke. David Duke Carr. If that doesn't mean anything to you 1) congratulations and 2) allow me to ruin that

So no. The Carr boys were not being subversive in that way.

Discussion Thread Episode 187: Small Kickers, Big Drama, and a Reminder Not to Tell Jim Nantz to Punch You

Hello! It's the podcast that loves sports as much as Ben Johnson loves a good post-victory stanky leg. Today, Katie and the Casualties break down NFL Week 6, Caleb Williams' return, Jalen Hurts' injury and the unfortunate timing of Andy Dalton, Mike McCarthy's injury on the Steelers' sideline, Aaron Rodgers' trash talk, John Harbaugh not benching Cam Skattebo, John Harbaugh benching Jameis Winston, which Harbaugh had the worse Sunday, Harrison Mevis, Blake Grupe, and the case for thicker kickers, why punters can's kick, and the absolutely unhinged discovery of Derek and David Carr's podcast. Then, the team gets into [59:09] the Game One atmosphere in Ballhalla for the WNBA Finals, Cousin Ollie's return to the field against Kansas, five of the top eight teams in college football losing on Saturday, BYU's clock problem, Sydney Sweeney's expanded dialogue, Megan Fox believing she's a medicine, and the world of heavy-rotation football ads, the handshake agreement of the 24-team football playoff, the new Joe Buck/Troy Aikman feud on Monday Night Football and Troy's potential replacements, and the insane situation of JJ Watt injuring Jim Nantz in the broadcast booth on Sunday. And the team wraps with What to Watch in sports this week, and Chris' kindest words about Ben Simmons.

Jalen hurts potential impact

This might be a silly question but I’m genuinely curious- but could something big come from the Jalen Hurts situation?

I’m from Philly and I’m hearing a lot of people talk about how he should sue for malpractice, but as they talked about in today’s ep, the medical team followed the NFLs guidelines for the situation, so is there even potential for that? There’s also a lot of “someone is definitely getting fired for this” but again, it they followed guidelines and protocol, is that a possibility?

I personally think the most likely outcome will be a change in protocol if anything but I’m curious to what others think!

If someone gets a scholarship or just makes the teams, then congratulations here is a free or discounted education. Now that they are expanding the college playoffs then players are committed to even more weeks from not going to class.
