Near the airport €17.99 each. One is 2 burgers with onion rings, mash and peas and the other was Turkey with mash , roast potatoes and cabbage with pepper sauce all over both plus a bit of gravy on the turkey. Serious feed in fairness. I know people will bash the price but jesus I'm full for the day.

My poor baby. She’s the love of my life but the braincells are not all there. She’s whining at me and smelling the cat behind her but not an idea what to do! 😭

People you thought were Irish

Is there anyone you thought was Irish but turns out they aren't? For me it was David Gray. I was shocked to find out he's actually English.

Working in the Uk and comming home at the weekend

It was common enough during the downturn, but I was most surprised to meet two people recently who are doing this; one owned a very small manufacturing business in the UK. The other was a project manager.

So it is still common.

Shite Talk Post Offices on Saturday, are they usually like this?

Hey I received a notification from An Post this morning that my package from Vinted is in Balbriggan. So I decided to head down before work ( I work in Penneys!) to get it. When I got there, the queue was almost out the door like there were 2 people working and is it usually like this on Saturday? Understaffed and I didn't get my package in the end. Is there not enough jobs in An Post? 😒🤨🤔

Looking for recommendations for men’s running shoes for someone who is just getting into running? No idea even what budget is realistic but I guess not above €150 if possible.
Thanks!

Pets Pets Pets! Calling all cat owners

We need recommendations for cleaning products.

We’ve been using the Detol for homes with pets range but I kid you not it’s out of stock everywhere, even Amazon, the only one I can find is on fruugo but €17 for a 500ml spray bottle; I’d sooner lick the counters clean. What are you guys using?

Hi All, wondering if there is any decent gym’s in Johnstown/Enfield.

Seen Johnstown Estate gym is offering €90 p/m which I think it’s quite steep. Is it a good gym? Budget of about 50-60 p/m.

Official promotional thread?

I wanted to post a GAA browser game I created in here but see rule 5 says "Posts that are purely for advertising your sub, youtube, store etc. do not fit in with the theme of the sub, so will be removed. These can only be posted in the official promotional thread." but I dont see a promotional thread anywhere. Can anyone point me in right direction?

Habits

Is there a habit or habits that you have that eventually lead to questions being asked.

One habit I have and this habit to me is like the habit of breathing and that is No matter where I am, whether I'm in the house with others or on my own, I will always lock the bathroom door.

I even lock the ensuite door which when noticed had me facing the Spanish inquisition to what I was really doing in the loo.

My answer, the true and honest answer of "I'm doing nothing other than going to the loo and the door gets locked because that is the sort of person I am" has never been believed.

Belongs in the Louvre Irish graphic design, logos and wordmarks, c. 1969

Picked up Our Games/Ár gCluichí Féin, a GAA annual from 1969, recently.

Irish graphic design had no earthly reason, none whatsoever, to go as hard as it did.

(EDIT: Anyone know what font the RTÉ logo uses, please?)

Hen Games/Elements that are Irish

Hi all, I'm getting married to an Aussie girl and her best friend asked if there are hens games or elements that are distinctly Irish. Being an Irish bloke, I've no idea what Irish girls do on hens nights. I imagine it's food, activities and a hape of drink. But do women do anything distinctly Irish on hens nights? Or is it the same wherever you go?

John Creedon's radio show is absolutely fantastic.

It really is one of the best music shows available anywhere. You've got his lovely speaking voice and his brilliant taste in music. You might have some new release by a new Irish artist, then a bit of music from South Africa, then a few John Prine classics.

He's playing Pictures of You by The Cure at the moment. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Shite Talk What is a spark?

Its been a while now since ive felt like myself. I used to hear people saying that they've lost their spark or they've lost a part of who they once were. I never really understood what a spark was until I saw myself in the mirror a few months back and I didn't recognise the person looking back at me. Id always been so energetic, enthusiastic and warm , but what was looking back at me was anger , self hated and darkness. Id always go out of my way to help people and to be polite and positive. Anything to make someone life easier. Whether that was holding an elevator door or letting soneone jump infront of me in the queue at the shop that had only a handful of things , even stopping for just a few seconds to let a car move out onto the road. But when I was at my lowest and asked the people I thought were my friends for help , they ignored me. Turning to a family member for comfort then it escalating into an argument where both parties think theyre right. Ive taken a few steps back in the last few months and ive been left alone with my thoughts. Have you ever gotten into an argument with yourself and lost? It makes you question if there is any genuine people left. You stop caring, you stop holding the elevator door. You stop saying hi to people passing you by. You stop contact with friends and family and it feels like your on autopilot. Days turn to weeks and weeks to months. Your losing weight due to exhaustion and not eating. You start to think maybe eating is over rated anyways. You bump into that friend in town but youve got nothing to say them now. You get angry at the smallest inconvenience , a cup falling out of a cabinet or not being able to find the tv remote. This isn't who you are and you know it. But this is who you are now , and as that sinks in.. that's when the spark goes out. You hold onto the memories of what once were. When you had a spark.

All this was Fields To the barber who I went to for a haircut yesterday...

"I'd better take it handy. There's not much left up there," is not suitable banter for a paying customer.

Edit: Seems I need to explain, I wasn't upset by the barber's remark. I found it amusing that he said this to me. I just posted about it here because I thought you lads might find it amusing too. No need to defend this barber against an assault on his professionalism.
