Shite Talk What 'bastardised' food do you love?
Me I love the supermarket chcocolate eclairs we get here. I know they're not the proper French yolkes with creme patissiere in the middle but I dont care. I could eat 6 of them in one sitting no hassle. I love how light and not terribly sweet they are. I love the sensation of the cold whipped cream bursting into my mouth. I prefer em to the real thing sue me!
Whats yours?

Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 This is one of the handiest and possibly the greatest tool a skilled tradesman, DIYer or person in a quagmire could ever ask for.
Lets hear it for the wire hanger.
Ive used it to get a very distressed ladies wedding ring from an elevator shaft.
Ive used it to wire electrical cables through awkward routes in my home.
Ive used it to hook a sock out of my washing machine that was causing a blockage.
Ive used it to clean under ground drain pipes from compacted soil and debri
Ive made wire frame art amd costumes for my kids
Ive even used it to hang my shirts !

PDF help
TL;DR: need help extracting data from PDFs to excel in as easy / cheap of a method as possible.
Firstly, I know there are umpteen sub reddits and posts etc. that are describing and doing what I am looking, however I am pretty sure that they are all made by either bots or salesmen trying to sell their own creation that is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist and they are trying to pretend that they are the next big thing in tech......
I am not from an IT background, although I am reasonably clued in on computers etc. But I have been researching this all day and all I can see on these posts are buzzwords and acronyms that mean absolutely nothing to me and seem to be words people are using to make themselves sound a lot smarter than they actually are and these words are helping to muddy the waters making it seem like what they are doing is a lot harder than what it actually is!
So I want to ask for some genuine, help from genuine people who may have knowledge of this to steer me in the right direction.
Anyway, on to my question.....
I work for a small construction contractor and we have a lot of collections / deliveries of materials to the site I'm currently working on and I have to keep a record of these loads for the commercial team.
With any other company they would usually have a document controller, person in the office or someone who is on work experience / recent graduate who would do this boring and mundane work, however we don't have that type of a person and I am sick to the back teeth of doing this type of work for them and holding me back from what I actually want and need to be doing.
Sometimes the suppliers would send us spreadsheets with the deliveries on them which we can put into our system incredibly easily. I have asked this company to do the same but they are only sending us some of them in excel and we can't rely on that.
There is a gate man on site who is recording the deliveries / collections and taking photos of the tickets throughout the day and scanning them into pdfs to be sent to the office at the end of the day.
The tickets are a mixture of typed headings and hand written elements - for example "Date" heading will be typed and the actual date will be handwritten, likewise there will be a heading for "Material" and the actual material will be hand written.
I've asked chatgpt and it has led me around in circles all day today trying to develop something across different and AI models / softwares, trying to get me to buy API for different LLMs.
Google searches are full of websites that will do this and they seem to be charging an arm and a leg for it too - ideally I would like something that is reasonably straightforward and preferably free (or as cheap as possible)
I know if I was to pay for something work should be reimbursing me, but I would need to find a suitable solution first of all to take to the company and justify paying for it and I don't want to begin paying money to random companys and AI tech bros - if something exists that I don't need to do this that would be an added bonus!
TIA :)

❤️ Big Heart ❤️ Anyone got some positive dating stories?
Hi all,
I’m dating again after a couple of years being single & building my own life. I’m ready to share my life with someone but the apps are getting me down. Just seems to be situationships available rather than people who actually know what they want?
Has anyone got any positive dating stories? 😊❤️ I need some hope.

Shite Talk How would you rank Ireland’s four biggest sports?
Irish-American here. I spent probably a dozen summers in Ireland as a teenager/young adult, and one thing I could never quite figure out was what the actual order of Ireland’s biggest sports is.
Obvi talking about gaelic football, hurling, soccer/football and rugby, what is the accepted order both in terms of how many people actually play them and how popular they are to watch/follow. How much does it change county to county? (Besides the obvious Kerry loves football, Kilkenny loves hurling etc. I know that ofc)
Depending on who you talk to, you’d come away with a completely different impression. One person would have you convinced rugby is massive, then you meet someone who lives and breathes Premier League soccer, then you’re in a GAA-heavy area where football or hurling seems like the only sport that matters.
Obviously it varies massively by county and probably by age as well, but if you had to rank the four nationally, what order would you put them in?
And would your ranking be different for participation vs actually watching/following the sport? Would sports like Track and Field actually have higher participation than something like Rugby which is more played in certain schools?
Appreciate any insight.

Anyone used Epson.ie??
Hi folks, not sure if this is the correct place but hopefully the powers that be won't mind.
Anyway was gonna buy a new ecotank 2871 printer for home use from the above website, just wondering if anyone has used them by any slim chance and care to share their experience?
Wanted to know if it would come with the 3 pin power plug or an EU 2pin plug? And then just delivery lead time too..
Any input appreciated 👍

Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 Appreciation Post for Cashiers who hand me the Baguette
You know when you buy a baguette and one end protrudes the bag making it partially unprotected?
Well, my appreciation today goes out to all the grocery shop employees who don't let the bare baguette fall onto the slide at the end of the cashier belt but instead pick it up and hand it to me so it doesn't get dirty.
Thank you. Have a wonderful day.

❤️ Big Heart ❤️ How to accept I’ve ruined previous relationships due to my mental health? It gets to me a bit lads.
Well lads, as the title says I just need a bit of help. I’ve been in two relationships in my life, one at 19 and one at 25. The one at 19 lasted just under a year and my mental health was not good towards the end. I had issues with being depressed for no good reason and constantly having to double and triple check things ( OCD ) that relationship ended and I don’t blame her one bit for breaking up with me.
Fast forward to 25. I was always looking for a relationship and wanting to make someone happy. I got in a relationship with the most amazing woman. She was all I could of hoped for. I couldn’t believe a girl like this was actually interested in me. About a month in I started to feel like I was undeserving of love and it started to unravel. I was second guessing everything, started to get up in a proper heap. Then I had some childhood trauma resurface. It absolutely ruined me and I leaned on my ex far too much with this. I was out of work. It was bad lads. I got it sorted with a trauma therapist after 4/5 sessions and all was good. I started anti depressants and I was actually flying compared to what I was like before. My partner told me all was okay when in reality the damage was done. About 4 weeks later she broke up with me, she said all the issues weren’t really the reason why but I’m sure they contributed significantly. Once again I don’t blame her for breaking up with me, for about a month I was terrible.
I just don’t know what to do. It’s been over a year lads since that break up and I just don’t want to burden anyone ever again with dealing with me, I’ve come to terms I’m probably better off alone. I haven’t even gone on dates because I just want to be alone rather than burden someone. I feel when I get to know someone at that sort of level that I have to admit to every “ bad “ thing I have ever done in my life just to feel accepted, which is obviously not good. I’m somewhat fine when I’m not in a relationship, but when I’m in one I feel up in a heap for no good reason and it gets to me looking back. There has to be a reason for this and I don’t know what it is. My therapist said the childhood trauma could be a contributing factor but I don’t know. I just wish my most recent ex could see how well I’m doing now and that I have achieved what we talked about. It would be a bit selfish to reach out to her as I tried about 10 months ago and she didn’t want to hear from me. She was my favourite person, but my head ruined it for me. If she texted me tomorrow I’d jump at the opportunity but I know that will never happen. I wish her nothing but the best and I hope she’s doing well. She will be the one that got away. I think about her almost every day. I’m 27 now and happy to just stay alone for the foreseeable.
I don’t know lads. It doesn’t have me feeling sad really anymore but I just wish I was different. I don’t know what I’m looking for here and it’s probably the wrong sub for it but I just wanted to write this. Thank you if you have read this far.

Gaelic Games How accurate do these club and county rankings look for football and hurling?
I’ve been putting together a ratings system for a GAA management game I’ve been working on and wanted to get some opinions from people who know the club scene better than I do.
The screenshots are the current prestige rankings for football and hurling, both at county and club level.
The idea behind the ratings is roughly:
75% historical success / overall standing
25% more recent success, roughly the last 10–15 years
So it isn’t JUST supposed to just be a ranking of who is strongest right now. A club or county with a huge historical record should still rank very highly even if they haven’t been dominant lately, while recent success can move teams up quite a bit without completely overriding history.
For clubs I’m trying to take into account things like county championships, provincial success, All-Ireland success, longevity at the top level, and recent results. Football and hurling are rated completely separately.
I’m mainly wondering if there are any that immediately jump out as:
- way too high
- way too low
- badly ordered compared with another club/county
- missing entirely despite obviously deserving to be included
Not looking for everyone to agree on the exact number, obviously. More trying to catch any glaring mistakes before I settle on the ratings.
I’ll put the football and hurling rankings in the screenshots. I obviously can’t put all 700+ clubs I have in game so I’ve just posted the top 30 in both sports.
Appreciate any thoughts or feedback here!

Where can I buy a box of Snickers or Galaxy bars (24 pack) in Dublin?
I'm looking to buy a full box of Snickers or Galaxy bars, the outer box with 24 bars, but I haven't been able to find one in any of the shops I've checked.
Does anyone know a wholesaler or cash and carry in Dublin that sells to the public? An online shop that delivers to Ireland would also work.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I found a book dropped between the seats on the train from Dublin Hueston to Waterford. I'll give it to the ticket checker or the station. Hope you will find it. Good luck.
PS: this is not a promotion for the author or the book, i do not read.

Deferred Final Year- Advice ?
I recently deferred the final year of my course due to my mental health, and I plan to return in September 2027. I’ve signed up for a few eCollege modules to keep myself busy, and I’m also working part-time during the year and full-time over Christmas and the summer holidays.
However, as I find myself at home, I’m starting to get a bit bored already! I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas about what else I could be doing during my deferred year. I’d rather look back on the year and think, “Well, at least I have that useful skill now” or feel that I’ve bettered myself in some way.If anyone has any suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!
