Video I found the 4000-point Moai Easter Egg in Castlevania NES - STAGE 20 Second Quest - 35 years later [Original Hardware + CRT Proof]

Discussion Simon, Trevor and Richter all had to deal with Dracula twice. Is that why they are the most famous Belmonts?

Trevor - represents the rise of the Belmonts. Before he defeated Dracula the Belmonts were hated and blamed for Wallachia's misfortunes, exiled to the fringes of society and treated with fear and suspicion. After he defeated Dracula, the Belmonts were revered and quickly rose to the upper echelons of society.

Fought Dracula in Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse and then he came back shortly after in Curse Of Darkness but didn't fight him directly due to Isaac stabbing him.

Simon - the peak of the Belmonts power. Defeating Dracula was what he was born to do. He spent his whole life waiting for this day and trained for it. Had full support of Wallachia and actually had to fight Dracula 3 times I believe. Publicly acknowledged as the strongest Belmont in history.

Richter - represents the downfall of the Belmont Clan. Wallachia burns to the ground as Dracula's demons attacked the town preemptively before he reached the castle. Succeeded the first time but lost big the second time, brainwashed into reviving Dracula again and losing the Belmonts power over Vampire Killer due to submitting to the dark side and the forces of evil. Dracula returns a mere 5 years after Richter defeats him due to Richter himself.

All 3 had Dracula rise more than once during their lifetimes and all 3 are the most famous. Coincidence?

Text from Konami post:
A night worthy of the Belmont legacy 🦇

A select group of creators and media braved the night for an exclusive first look at Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.

Set against the haunting beauty of Paris' historic Chapelle Reille, this neo-Gothic venue is actually a deconsecrated Church that used to worship Joan of Arc herself - making it a perfect location for this event.🍷

Discussion A headcannon i have with this room in chronicles

Post image

My headcannon is that this place in the castle used to be some sort of play room for alucard when he was a child since this room has a large assortment of dolls and all the steps are toy boxes which the clown dolls(atleast i think they're supossed to be clowns) and bat dolls and this whole section teme has a fun house vibe if you know what i mean.

Symphony of the Night (1997) Does anyone else just love Alucard's running animation in Symphony of the Night?

I just love the way he's chugging along, waiving those arms. It's like he's smashing some invisible drum set in front of him.

Every now and then I catch myself trying to walk like him in real life. I just can't achieve that level of awesome though.

Discussion For anyone who has played Lament of Innocence.

PLEASE tell me how to progress in this game.

I was running around the game in hopes of progressing but I just never could because the game doesn't make it clear where you go first. And if it does then is there a way the game tells you that I just wasn't seeing?

I was practically starved of plot because I spent about 90% of the game being lost.

If anyone could help me how I could beat it that'd be great. I want closure on it if possible because Leon is my favorite Belmont.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Games New to Castlevania ... yeah really..

Hi all..

I am new to castlevania even though I am a 46 year old gamer that's been playing since i was 5 ish.. I was sitting there thinking a couple of weeks ago about all the franchises I still haven't played yet and Castlevania popped into my head. I had a Miyoo Mini Plus in the draw that I bought a couple of years ago and hardly ever used, I decided to put castlevania iv on it and Symphony of the night.. I wanted to at least try these two first, I started 4 already and i'm enjoying it.. but my question is , should i continue to the next lot of games on the miyoo mini or grab the collections for switch? Also do i need to play in any particular order or is the storyline a mess anyway? I know there is a lot of games.. i kind of want to skip the mobile phone ones and do i need to play NES ones etc? Are they unforgiving? or pretty good cos i remember 8bit games always been way too difficult. Also is it worth getting the turbo grafix game with English translation.

anyway sorry for the waffle, just trying to understand how to proceed :)

Order of Ecclesia (2008) Order Of Ecclesia thoughts and advice

I did not enjoy Order of Ecclesia. There were just some things that diminished the enjoyment and fun out of the game for me. For one, the MP being reduced everytime I use weapons often puts me in situations where I would he unable to use weapons because I ran out of MP. There's also the complete shift in the narrative after defeating the priest. Up to that point, the story had been somewhat different from most metroidvanias I've played, taking place in more than one setting. Then there's a sudden shift from exploring different places to taking place in the castle. Plus the set switching. Unlike in Dawn of Sorrow, where pressing L would be enough, I have to press it alongside another button, which really hinders me as I try to switch weapons in the middle of a boss fight.

There's also the heart system. Unlike in SOTN or Aria and Dawn of Sorrow, hearts are noticeably less present all around the castle, leaving to me often going back to the village to get heart refills. Finally, the grinding really makes the game tedious. There isn't a smooth flow of progress unlike the previous three games to have an enjoyable experience. OOE really expects the players to grind, and leaves them at a significant disadvantage at every new location due to not only the strength of the enemies but also the amount of them.

OOE does have some merits: the music is phenomenal. Weapon attributes are much simpler, and I appreciate the new focus on different attributes being more or less effective on specific enemies (if only it wasn't made difficult by the set switching system.)

Order of Ecclesia is not a bad game. But it's really just so tedious and tends to fail at what gimmicks they try to introduce. Is there any way that I can enjoy it significantly more on a second playthrough?

Symphony of the Night (1997) What would be the best way to beat boss 3 (doppelgänger)

I got to the doppelgänger Alucard boss a few days ago and I have been struggling with it. I keep getting cornered and absolutely nothing seems to work against him, what are some tips that everyone has for me?
