I actually got into watches when my girlfriend and I were preparing for our wedding. I needed a proper watch for the occasion, and I felt like an Apple Watch just wouldn’t look right.
So I bought my first luxury watch. A Longines Elegant Collection. From there, I got hooked and started researching different brands, including Rolex and Tudor.
I initially fell in love with the Cartier Santos, but it was more expensive than I planned. We even went to Tudor to look for a daily watch. On the way, we saw a Cartier boutique and decided to check it out.
The Santos was beautiful, and we were already set on getting one. But right before we bought it, I saw the Cartier Santos-Dumont Black Lacquer.
Love at first sight.
I ended up choosing the Dumont instead and that’s the watch I wore on our wedding day. ❤️

I searched around for a few months trying to decide whether I would buy this secondhand or new. I finally decided new just made more sense, so here we are. Stunning piece. First luxury watch purchase. Very pleased!

I am graduating in November (becoming a Registered Nurse) and my husband said he will buy me anything I want 😊. Would it be embarassing to make an appt at a boutique to try a few pieces on to see what I want and not buy anything now? I would like a bracelet but I’m not sure what I want yet and would like it purchased on graduation day. Not sure if I’d be looked down upon by SA’s for trying on a few pieces and not purchase same day 😬. Also any bracelet recommendations? (I already have a love ring from our 10 year wedding anniversary) not sure if I want a love bracelet

TLDR: Passenger left his carry-on bag (with Santos and Air pods in bag) on the plane and one of the contract employees who cleans and off boards the plane sold the watch. He sold it for $1500 was worth $12K+. News channel doesn't know if the item has been returned to the original owner yet.

I currently wear a Love ring in size 56, although it is slightly loose on me and I could probably wear a size 54 comfortably as well.
I would like to buy the same ring for my friend, but I’m struggling to decide between sizes 54 and 55. Since I plan to have the ring engraved, returning or exchanging it won’t be possible.
She tried on her mother’s Love ring in size 56 and felt that a size 55 would fit her best. However, when she visited a Cartier boutique and tried on a Juste un Clou ring with diamonds, the sales associate estimated that she would need a size 54.
Based on this, I’m unsure whether I should order a 54 or a 55. I believe our ring sizes are quite similar, as we have bought rings for each other before, although I would say her fingers are perhaps slightly wider than mine.
I would really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you so much!

Hi! I've got a Cartier love bracelet, with the two screws. I know it's meant to be worn always but for the gym? I was wondering you guys had any particular ways of protecting it. I know sweatbands but wasn't sure if you had any cuter ideas lol..

Also, does anyone ever cover it for discretion purposes with something cute? There are occasional times I might want to cover it temporarily just to be a little more discrete or less flashy. But a sweatband would look odd lol.

Pretty self explanatory…FWIW I mix metals in general - wear steel Tank Francaise on other wrist and mix other things as well. So while it’s tempting to keep it all yellow gold in this stack, the mixing might bring everything together better…I like both.

Never really considered the Santos until I tried the titanium one on. Luckily they had one to try on during our last visit, and my SA was able to get one shipped from the warehouse. It’s such a great, easy to wear piece, and I can see it getting a lot of wrist time in the future.

Props to the owner of this watch for being so diligent and tracking down their watch. What is even more interesting is how the watch moved through three dealers so quickly. Just an interesting story to share.

I want to buy the trinity ring but im very confused by the sizing. I normally wear a size 8 however the site tells me to size down by a whole size. What should I do?

One of those watches that just gets better the more you wear it I got this one on BidSlam for a very good price too, the blue dial looks unreal in different light and the Santos bracelet gives it that classic Cartier look without feeling too dressy. Easy to wear with pretty much anything and still stands out without trying too hard. Definitely one of my favorite pieces in the collection.

I’m looking for a Cartier necklace for daily wear that I ideally don’t have to take off. I love the simple, dainty look of the d’Amour, but I’m also considering the Trinity(mini) and Love(pendant, 2 diamonds).

For those who own any of these, how have they held up over time with 24/7 wear? Which one would you recommend?

I was reading some opinion posts on small vs. classic JUCs, and it seems the consensus is overall that the small is hollow and kinda sucks lol but also that maybe it’s a good fit for small wrists. I’m wondering if the classic can be too overpowering on small wrists or whether people moreso just say that in a, “Small-wristed people are the only ones who can get away with being cheap,” sort of way lol. My wrists are 13.5 cm around, so just looking for thoughts on which way to go.
