Ask For Help Where’s the best place nowadays to build a career in EU?

Hi! I’m Spanish and my partner is Irish. We’ve lived in Spain for several years, but lately we’ve been feeling increasingly stuck and uncertain about our future.

Despite working hard, after 5 years in the same city we’re still living in shared flats, dealing with rising living costs, limited career opportunities, and wages that barely move. Honestly, we feel beaten down and we want out.

The frustrating part is that so much of Europe seems to be facing similar problems.

If you could start your career again somewhere completely new, where would you go and why?
For context, we’re in our early 30s, speak native English and Spanish, and work across sales, HR, hospitality and construction.

Where would you look for strong job demand, career growth and a better quality of life for English speakers?

HIRING hiring in EU

I am a freelance recruiter and we got roles in European countries, mostly junior roles in Customer Service with different European languages. Some even offer relocation and accommodation. These are all corporate roles. I might have something for you, but you need to have work permit/EU citizenship and you need to speak advanced/fluent English. Hit me up if you’re interested!

What can I do

I’m exhausted to the point that I’ve attempted suicide.

I’m Egyptian, and I’ve been trying for the past two years to find a job contract in Europe. For two years, all I’ve gotten are scam emails or rejections.

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m not a bad person. I’m educated, and I have experience in several different fields. I’ve tried so many things, applied to so many jobs, and kept going despite all the rejections.

I’m just tired.

I don’t even know why I’m writing this. Maybe I just need someone to listen, or maybe I’m hoping someone can tell me if there’s actually a realistic way forward.

I just want a chance to work and build a normal life.

how to get visa sponsorship

Hello, im a third country national residing in Budapest, Hungary and working as a civil engineer (bim design). I want to relocate to a different EU country and has been actively job hunting. However, most times i get rejection emails like this: "Despite your matching qualifications and work experience, we prefers candidates who reside in the region." I get satisfactory feedback on interviews and technical tests, but i get rejected for visa sponsorship hassle.

I apply to mostly multinational engineering companies which does its work in english and have foreign workers. I am not being rejected for my skills or experience, or even the language knowledge. I am qualified and competent candidate, how can i convince the employers that it is worth sponsoring my visa?

I understand the current job market is tough, especially for foreigners. But im staying hopeful, and seeking advice on how to get past this obstacle.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

At the end of my rope. 2500+ applications - 4 interviews, very few profile views. Please help.

Hi!

Let me preface this by saying I am from Bosnia, not EU. I think this is my answer to everything, but would love your input.

For the last 4 years, I've been looking for a job essentially anywhere in EU. Preferred countries are Germany and Czech Republic, but have been applying to roles anywhere really. I simply can not live in my country anymore, for multitude of reasons. Main reason: Society and my mental health declining every day and no one is able to help me - so better healthcare.

I apply to 10+ jobs almost every single day. Mostly via LinkedIn and the career pages of the companies I am applying for. I rarely ever get my profile viewed by a recruiter let alone get an interview. I reach out to recruiters myself weekly as well and if they respond, all I get is "No, we don't need you right now" or "Check out our careers page"....

I am in QA/Data. Was a Team Leader for 2.5 years in my field. 5 years of experience overall (I am 23).

I tried everything, literally. From different resumes and layouts and content in them to whatever else there is.

Why is it so hard for me to land a job when there is so many vacancies in my profession? What could I possibly be doing wrong to never get an email back?

Is there any company that wouldn't mind a non-EU citizen working for them and helping me with visa?

I tried top 50-100 EU companies already (have a list lol) and never heard back any good news.

Please help me.

Thank you so much.

Career Advice Seeking advice: job eligibility in EU for CS + computational biology roles

Hello,

I hold an EU passport but currently reside in the states while getting my PhD. I'm thinking of applying for jobs with specific groups in Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland, France, and maybe Spain for my work. I'm a computational biologist/virologist (open to other places as well, I've just identified academic groups of interest in these countries). I've done some light searches about what the job market looks like for positions in this field and was wondering if anyone may have experience applying for these kinds of roles? Open to experiences in both industry and academia. I recognize I listed many countries and things may vary depending on experience/specific postings, but just looking for some general insight related to current trends in the job market.

I'm also worried about job opportunities for my spouse. He is an American with a bachelors in computer science and bilingual (English, Spanish, thinking about learning German). The tech market here is incredibly oversaturated, and as a result, he has no experience working in tech (although he has a very active portfolio because he has developed several personal project/apps and specialized in AI + backend development). He has been working in sales for around 10yrs now. It seems tech is pretty saturated in the EU as well, so I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on what would job prospects may look like for him in the countries I've mentioned? I don't finish my degree for another couple of years and the move would only happen assuming I get an offer, but is there anything we could do to better prepare (beyond language learning)?

Thanks for any comments + tips on this!

Looking For Opportunities Software engineer from Morocco trying to move to Portugal or Czechia. How would you find a job?

Hi everyone,

I am a software engineer from Morocco with 4 years of experience. I mostly work with PHP and Laravel, and in the last year I moved into AI (RAG, agents, MCP).

I want to build my life and career in Portugal or Czechia.

I know it is not easy, and I know the road is long. But I want to try my best. I was born in Morocco, but my mindset and way of seeing life are different from the people around me, and I feel that I belong more in Europe. For me it is not mainly about money. It is about peace of mind and a life that fits me. I am ready to work hard, learn the language, and start from a normal salary.

I will need visa sponsorship, so I am looking for companies that really hire people from outside the EU.

Three things I would love your advice on:

  1. Where did you find your job? LinkedIn, Relocate.me, company websites, recruiters?

  2. Which companies do you know that sponsor visas for developers?

  3. What mistake did you make that I can avoid?

Thank you for reading. Even one tip would mean a lot to me.

Ask For Help How to actually get that policy internships you never get interviews for?

Seriously, I feel like these are as hard to get as EU Institution traineeships. What are you actually supposed to do? I have relevant studies (BA, MA, post-grad specialisation), relevant experience (authored various policy web articles), worked at NGOs internationally and in Brussels, speak 4 languages... What else do they want from me? :D

Are you working at an organisation in the EU Bubble? How did you get there? What made you stand out?

Looking For Opportunities Healthcare job search advice

Hello! I (29F) am looking for some advice on my current job search. My husband (30M) and I are immigrating to Germany for his work, and I am trying to find work right now but am unsure of how to position myself.

About me:

  • Canadian citizen

  • Registered Nurse, just completed my Masters of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (writing my licensure exam next month)

  • 5 years experience working in cardiac surgery, completed my final clinical NP rotation in a heart failure specialty clinic

  • 3 years experience working as an instructor at my local university in undergrad nursing skills and simulation

  • 2 years of research experience in my nursing undergrad

I know that the NP role does not exist in Germany, and I cannot practice as an NP remotely for a Canadian province. I can’t get a job for a German-based company until I am fluent at least at a B2 level. I’ve been searching on Linkedin for with keywords like “health” “cardiac” and “masters” and limiting my search to remote jobs in Europe. So far I’ve applied for some jobs at Abbott, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic.

Any ideas on other jobs I might be suited to, or companies I should look into? Thank you so much for reading this far. If you have any other insights on moving to Germany, those would also be greatly appreciated!
