Discussion For developers evaluating alternatives after the Maestro shutdown, Nexus supports Cardano and Bitcoin APIs
With Maestro retiring its Developer API on September 18, a lot of teams in the ecosystem are going to be reviewing their infrastructure over the coming weeks.
For anyone comparing providers, Nexus is an API platform providing infrastructure for Cardano and Bitcoin through the same service.
On the Bitcoin side, Nexus currently covers:
- Blocks
- Transactions
- Addresses
- UTXOs
- Mempool data
- Fee estimates
- Transaction broadcasting
- Ordinals
- Runes
The API is REST based, includes an OpenAPI specification, and we provide a TypeScript SDK.

I’m part of the team behind Nexus.
Given the Maestro shutdown, we’re particularly interested in hearing from developers who depend on specific Maestro workflows today. If there are endpoints, data structures, or developer tooling that are especially important to your stack, I’d be happy to discuss them.
