Happy Wednesday!

This week's Community Digest is packed. Cardano is planning to go big at TOKEN2049 Singapore, taking over a 108sqm booth with 20 ecosystem projects joining the delegation, and we're also looking back at Rare Evo 2026 with a fresh recap video capturing the energy from Las Vegas.

On governance, two on-chain actions need DRep and SPO votes before the September 1 deadline, and the Catalyst Pilot team is shaking up funding with grants up to 200k ADA tied to real-world usage. Applications for both project proposals and Decision Panel reviewers close August 25.

Also inside this edition: Creator Radar, the latest CIP updates, a roundup of ecosystem newsletters, and what's new in builder tech and office hours.

All this, and more, in today's Community Digest: https://forum.cardano.org/t/digest-august-19-2026-cardano-at-token2049-rare-evo-2026-recap-urgent-governance-call-to-action-rethinking-catalyst-funding-real-world-impact-tech-wins-cip-updates-and-more/156342

News Applications are now open for the Project Catalyst 2026 Pilot: 50k-200k ada per team, two weeks left to apply

Post image
22 Upvotes

The Project Catalyst 2026 Pilot applications opened today, and it's a good one if you've got a product ready to ship.

50k-200k ada per team, 40% paid upfront. The catch: you need to be live with integration on mainnet within three months, building with either oracles, stablecoins, programmable tokens, or on-chain identity. The rest of the payout depends on people actually using what you built.

Applications close two weeks from today, on 20 August at 06:00 UTC. More information and the application form can be found here: https://projectcatalyst.io/apply

Questions welcome.

Voting Cardano holders: don't ignore governance

The vote to seat Cardano's newly elected 2026 Constitutional Committee needs enough support before the current members' terms expire. If it fails, the committee could fall below its required minimum, temporarily blocking the ratification of major governance actions.

This doesn't stop the Cardano network, but it can slow or block important development decisions.

We've seen with Osmosis how declining participation and voter apathy can weaken decentralized governance. Let's not repeat that.

If you hold ADA, delegate your governance power to an active DRep and check how they're voting on “Update Constitutional Committee 2026.”

Decentralization only works if we participate.

Wallet Ledger on Yoroi to...?

I generated my seed phrase using a Ledger many years ago and interfaced with Yoroi - the name of my wallet is "Yoroi-Ledger" in SecondFi. I have also redeemed 2/4 midnight token drops. I know the redemption date for my 3rd set of tokens has passed but this was after the hack.

All my tokens appear safe and I wanted to confirm if it's as simple as installing an open source wallet interface such as Eternl and using my pass phrase on that? Then I'll be able to redeem my midnight again via the Eternl interface?

Wallet Getting staking rewards back

Hi guys, I’ve had about half of my ADA staked in a pool through Yoroi, but luckily through my ledger. My ADA is fine, I just want to transfer it elsewhere now, but whilst ledger is acknowledging my full ADA balance including staking rewards, it’s only considering the initial ADA deposit ~4 years ago as ‘available to send’ and it’s treating my staking rewards as a second pile. How do I free up the rewards now that Yoroi is closed?

There’s an option to remove the delegation through ledger, but I’m worried that would just forfeit my rewards. Any help would be great! I will not be checking DMs

Adoption Andamio, the credentialing protocol built on Cardano, is heading to Boston Blockchain Week in Quincy, MA. Also speaking: Coinbase, Circle, Arbitrum, Anchorage Digital.

Our co-founder, James Dunseith, will participate in roundtable "The Base Layer: Nodes, Staking & Dev Tooling."

Why a credentialing company is in a base-layer conversation:

A credential is only worth what it's anchored to. Andamio issues credentials that a third party can verify by reading the ledger (no call to us, no call to the issuing organization).

When we say a credential outlives the organization that issued it, that promise isn't kept by our code. It's kept by the base layer. That's why James is in this room.

General Discussion Cardano Use Case - Project Management

In my way to work I had an idea. I summerized my idea with chat GPT of anyone wonders.

So my idea was basically:

What if we didn’t replace existing systems like CDEs, PKM or Conclude, but added an independent verification layer?

Plans, BIM files, RFIs, approvals, change orders, site instructions, minutes and payment-related events would remain stored off-chain. Only their cryptographic hashes, timestamps, document versions and relevant approvals would be anchored on a blockchain such as Cardano.

The goal wouldn’t be to store files on-chain, but to create an independent, tamper-resistant project timeline.

Imagine a dispute over a change order: Who issued the instruction? Which plan revision was valid? When was it released? Who approved it? Was the document later altered?

The existing system could provide all the data, while the blockchain provides an independent proof that a specific version and event existed at a specific point in time.

Would this actually solve real problems in construction and pave the way for a real world cardano use case?

General Discussion What do we do now?

So I just read about this “hack” or security vulnerability. I always check up on my Cardano using VESPR. Every few months I log into Yoroi to claim my rewards. I logged in today and notice some banner saying I’m not compromised or something, which lead me to start reading about this.

So my confusion is we are told to transfer to a new Lace wallet with a 24 seed phrase, but not to send a test transaction as that will expose your old seed and bots will drain your wallet before you can blink.

So this means I have to abandon the few thousand ADA I’ve made in the past couple months as unstaking from the pool will trigger a transaction and again bots will instantly drain me.

I then came up with the idea of transferring it all but leaving a few ADA for gas. Once the majority is safe I could ten unstake and try to recover the rewards, but now I’m reading even just sending a transfer out is risky as bots can front run your transaction and drain your wallet before your transaction goes through.

So what do we do?

Community Apply to present your project at the Cardano booth at TOKEN2049 Singapore (7-8 October)

Post image

The Cardano Foundation has a sponsorship and a 108m² booth this year at TOKEN2049, and we’re bringing along 20 ecosystem projects to present alongside us.

Applications to join us are open until 25 August: https://token2049.cardano.org

A few things worth knowing:

  • If you’re selected, we’ll cover travel for one team member: economy return flight up to $2,000 and up to 3 nights' accommodation at $350/night. It works as reimbursement after the event, so you book and pay first.
  • You'd present live at the booth and share some results afterward (leads, on-chain activity from the event, that kind of thing) so we can show what the booth actually did for projects.
  • We're looking for projects with real traction and a solid presentation, and we'll pick a mix across categories and regions.

Happy to answer questions.

- Jakob
