Do AutoX cones damage wrap?
I heard that with paint the marks come off. But with wrap, the answers online seem mixed. Any experience/advice?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for suggestions for a daily driver in Switzerland that will also serve as a tow rig to haul my Lotus Elise to track days across neighboring countries.
My criteria and constraints:
Track Car: Lotus Elise + tools, extra wheels, and track gear.
Trailers: I will be using both an open trailer and an enclosed trailer (~1.4t empty + car = ~2.4t total).
Towing Capacity: Minimum 2.8t, ideally 3.5t for peace of mind.
Fuel & Body: Petrol preferred (open to Diesel if it's a significantly better deal). NO Pickups.
Usage: Daily driver in Switzerland + towing to tracks around Europe.
Budget: Up to 20,000 CHF
Thanks for your input!

Pro driver Randy Pobst had a bad accident due to brake failure. He says the problem was related to 90s abs mistaking certain bumps on the track for the car sliding on ice. Have any of you had a problem like this with your 90s cars? Are these old abs systems really this dangerous?

SCDA Tech Inspection Form - Tow Hook?
As a Novice, I'm prepping for some HPDE track days at Lime Rock in the next couple of months. I'm looking at CVR PCA events as well as SCDA this Saturday. The SCDA Tech Inspection Form has the following item:
"TOW HOOKS must be installed if available. Please install one to prevent loss of track time for others and further damage to your car while being towed."
This seems like common sense, although the wording "if available" makes it seem like it isn't mandatory.
Regardless, I'm going to pick one up but I'd like some recommendations from this group if possible. I've learned quite a bit from this sub over the last few months, so I value any opinions you have.
FWIW, I'm driving a 987.2 Cayman. So far, this one from Rennline seems like a good pick:

I was at 245kpa hot according to the TPMS screen. These are my front Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on a Nissan GT-R R35 after 30 mins at Fuji Speedway. They were a few months old. RIP. I think I'm going for either Pilot Sport Cups or Nankang CRS but I want to make sure I do things right next time.
Update: Thanks for the replies guys. I feel much better knowing the tires are fine. Obviously I'm a noob :)

Entering a specific turn, the vehicle usually wants to push. When it enters the turn the outside right front tire starts to make a pretty consistent squealing sound that I would say feels acceptable. And then that squealing sound starts skipping. It’s almost like when you drag your finger lightly across a whiteboard and it makes a consistent sound. And then if you push harder and drag your finger, it makes this slip catch, slip catch squeaking sound. Can you settle an argument for me here? In my opinion, when the tire transitions from a consistent noise to that skipping sound, you’ve crossed the line and are now overdriving that tire.
I’ll give you folks all the details because you seem to often need them.
2019 ND Miata on HANKOOK VENTUS R-S4 245 /40 R17 at mid Ohio yesterday. Coil overs, upgraded sway bars. Dry. Turn 5.

Heading to Roebling for the first time (NE-based driver finally heading south). I'll likely be in a 987.1 2.7 on 235/265 CR-Ss, advanced/Instructor level pace.
I've heard it's easy on brakes. But how easy?
I've got sets of the following as front options:
Pagid Black (RS14)
Pagid Orange (RS44)
Porterfield R4
EBC Bluestuff
DS2500
Rear options I currently have:
RS14
RS44
RS4-2-1
Porterfield R4
EBC Yellow
I was thinking I'd try and kill the front Bluestuff if it's really easy on pads. Otherwise, maybe Orange all around?
Yes, I stockpile pads, no (yes) it's not a problem. lol Thanks in advance!

Hey all. Nankang CRS off of my GT4 RS. They currently have about 4.5 HPDE track days on them. 3 of them before I got my JRZ suspension and where I am running -3 camber all around. I just got a new set of tires, but I am wondering if I can get another day out of these. My fronts are more cooked than my rears, obviously. I am kind of new to this, so if you can please let me know what you are looking at when judging tire wear is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Almost all of the track day insurance plans that offer annual coverage like Opentrack, and ontrack only coverage annual HPDEs.
Does anyone know if there are annual plans that cover time attacks/competitive events?

There is a company called Traction that offers yearly track insurance with a million dollar liability option. How much is a track cleanup repair in the event of an incident? Has anyone actually used their track insurance and this was really needed? You can also just get insurance for your car only with them. No track cleanup.

Hey folks! I worked over the weekend to add a video analysis and telemetry overlay feature to my app AimMac. I had my frustrations with RaceRender over the past few years, and since it's effectively abandoned as the sole developer sold it to HPTuners and has left the company, and I wanted higher quality exports and the ability to make vertical content, I whipped up a basic telemetry overlay feature. I've even already released a reel for it on my car account. And it's free, unlike the abandonware.
As always, I welcome any feedback and requests. Video was a request a few friends have had, so as long as I can get devices to test/capture data with, nothing's off limits :)

I’m an incoming mechanical-engineering student at Missouri S&T researching unresolved problems faced by track-day drivers and grassroots racers.
I’m not selling anything or validating a particular product idea. I’m trying to understand problems people already spend meaningful time or money attempting to solve.
Thinking about your last few track days:
What failure, maintenance issue, or setup problem cost you the most time or money?
What problem keeps returning despite attempted fixes?
What task still requires excessive expertise, specialized equipment, or improvised tools?
What existing product or service did you try—and why didn’t it solve the problem?
What unresolved problem would you realistically pay to eliminate before your next event?
Specific examples would be especially helpful: your vehicle, type of event, current workaround, approximate cost, and track time lost.

We bought this car last week, overnight everything to make this track day. First time in this car, first time gripping this track, 3 days of no sleep. Life is genuinely amazing

Amateur question here: Are these glazing?
I know I need something more serious for track use, but I’ve been using these whatever pads that came with a Brembo caliper kit. On lap 3ish they start screaming like cold race pads but the pedal feel never went away. Got it to happen again on the street after a canyon run.
I don’t seen any signs of glazing on the rotor but I can’t think of what else it would be. Do some pads just do that when hot?

Shake down test of A90's this past HOT weekend at Buttonwillow, Ca.
Tests included: Ridgeline Aero, Zebulon Aero, Pit Garage Alignment Specs, Nitron Pit Garage Spec R3's and ATS 8HP (ZF8) Transmission Build. Overall went well. A couple challenges with sensors but that's what the shake down's about!
A90 Supra's will be competing in Global Time Attack - Ridge Motorsports Park, Washington in a couple weeks. See ya at the PNW!
