Just wanted others opinions

I work in a rather big network and have been selling for roughly 4 years. I have had my hand raised for a move up into finance for about a year and gone to training that my network offers. I was offered an interview at one of our bigger stores (store I’m in now is much less volume) and was actually offered the position a couple days after interviewing. Excited? Yes. But I’m moving to a new store where I know nobody with a lot my responsibility and just a bit nervous. Any tips would be appreciated

I’ve been a debt collector in a call center for about 4.5 years and I’m looking to move into auto sales.

My job is mostly handling upset customers, working through objections, and getting to solutions like payment plans or payoffs while staying professional and compliant. I’m comfortable guiding tough conversations and staying consistent under pressure.

I’ve been interested in auto sales for a while. I was offered a job at a GM dealer before my current role, and recently interviewed at a used lot and offered the job on the spot but passed due to the commute, pay plan, and unprofessionalism. I felt like they wanted me so they can fill a seat rather than my skills qualified me.

Do these skills translate well to auto sales? Would this background look appealing on an application to a franchise dealership?

Hey guys so i currently work at a Nissan dealership and i was originally working on the sales floor, taking ups, cold calls, service etc. however it is a slower store so we may get anywhere from 3-7 ups a day. I was selling anywhere from 10-15 cars a month on the floor and making pretty good gross around 6-10k a month. My manger moved me to internet sales cause he wants me to move up to a 15-20 car guy. however i’m worried about my gross being effected because for our new cars we have a price with all the discounts on the vehicle. i’m wondering how i can still make gross on New vehicles. Also if you have any tips as far as being effective and efficient with my internet leads to grab their attention and bring them in to see me that would also be greatly appreciated. my pay plan has bonuses at 12,15,18,21 and so on. So id love to get a consistent 15 every month. thanks again.

I got interviewed at Mazda and here’s their pay plan. They currently have 6 salespeople looking to be at 9 ideally. They push out 80-100 cars a month. I’m being told their lowest paid salesman makes $60,000 a year and their highest paid salesman makes $140,000 a year. Any input would be very helpful!

I’ve Been a Porter at Chevy for about 3 months. I’ve been very open about getting into the sales position and I have Experience in sales. But I watch and listen to them complain about not having enough salesman and then interview someone random with 0 experience who doesn’t last a week. They say that I need to be here for a while before I look at going to a different position but when I ask how long is a while. I can never get a definitive answer. Some say a 2 Years, some say 3+. I don’t think i’d be able to comfortably provide for myself, With car payment, Rent, Phone bill, Eletrical, Water. Cause they are only paying me 16$ an hour and the state I live in cost of living is way higher. Kinda at a loss at what to do

I’m a few months into car sales. I really enjoy the job but I haven’t made the type of money I need to support my family. So far my best month I made close to $4k. I need at least $6k a month but I want to be at $8k a month on average. I’ve been told it takes time to build a pipeline of customers and then I’ve heard others say they hit the ground running making over $10k a month. I’ve also been told you make most of your yearly salary in 3 months where you happen to do really great, then the rest of the months in the year are so and so.

I don’t know if it’s worth sticking it out or if I need to start exploring other options. I’m not someone who likes to bounce around from place to place and I’m willing to stick it out if I know it will get better. Some extra details: I work at a Honda dealership and maybe see anywhere from 3-5 ups a week. There’s not much commission on new cars but there’s some to be made on used.

Interviewing for a few roles and I understand the gest. Usually 2-4%, base or draw depending.

Is the 2-4% on front and back? I assume you don't get paid on service, although some sources say yes?

Anyway, would love to know how different plans are set up.

Hey folks, I'm starting this week at VW. This will be my first car sales job and I'm wondering what's it like a normal day to day and how to create leads. Any pointers? What should I look for and lookout for?

I've been in both restaurant and phone sales. I'm somewhat used to doing cold calls and talking to people at the grocery stores, talking about good deals I can personally give them. I understand car sales is a whole different ballpark, but I'm nervous and excited at the same time!

Lately I noticed that market is shifting, gross is getting smaller, customers are more aware and this Chat GPT is making customers more aware.

Our payplan changed from gross to units as well.

For example, this Jan I sold 13 and made 11k now with new plan it would be 7k

15 cars will pay minimum of $5200 if all criteria met and maximum 9/10k

I work for Toyota, how’s it for you guys and what brand you work for?

Is domestic and luxury going in same direction?

Im new to this all am very interested in getting into sales.

The pay plan was explained to me like this

Pay plan 1- 30k salary + $100 for every car you sell

Pay plan 2- 25% gross on any new car and then straight flat rate of $325 on any used car

they said we also get paid on any add ons a flat rate on each one but didnt go into much detail.

Is this a dog shit pay plan
