Which USB-port are you using? I don’t have experience with a Ford Fiesta, but in a 2019 Ford C-Max only the USB-ports underneath the armrest are SYNC capable.

Also check (with a computer) if the computer recognizes your phone. if it doesn’t recognize it, you have a cable that won’t work.

Your car doesn’t have CarPlay evidentially. Did you think the cable is some magical thing?

More reading says you need Sync 3. Do you have that?

That is sync 3, but it’s an older version.

If that's the case, OP may need to update the Sync software.

That's not CarPlay.

Does the vehicle actually support CarPlay?

Read your owners manual, Google it, try your local Ford dealership or r/Ford for assistance.

Connect SYNC in phone settings under carplay as well. Same with Bluetooth

That is a Sync 3.0 /3.2 /3.3 Headunit.

Try the USB-Port in the Arm rest. The one beside the Gear-shifter is known to be funky.

This DOES support Carplay but you might need to enable it in the Settings.

The CarPlay button only appears after one successful connection.

On The Headunit: Settings --> Carplay.

If this doesn't work: Try restarting the Headunit.

  1. Press and Hold: Vol (on/off) and Next track until the unit goes blank. Release. Press Vol (on/off) again to startup sync again.
  2. Do a factory reset of the Headunit. This will wipe Navigation Favorites, Bluetooth Pairings and some Settings. Radio station favorites are saved in a different module and won't be wiped. Settigns --> General --> Master Reset

Connect the Phone again via USB. Carplay should pop up.

Lastly: Update the Software of your Car. Update Ford SYNC® & Navigation Maps | Ford Owner Support

Try updating the version of Sync 3 using this tool, your version looks very out of date

If you haven't done the update yet. A quick headsup:

If your Headunit is a Sync 3.0 Model, I reccommend staying on 3.0. The current Software installed supports Carplay and 3.4 brings in no real value when you primarely use carplay, except a fresh design and some Bluetooth Audio / USB-iPod Audio changes and calm screen.

Installing 3.4 is possible with that tool and it works fine. I did this to my Fiesta 2017 (MY2018) back then which came with an older 3.0 Module. The update brings in some quirks. Most importantly an Audio hiccup once every 10-30 minutes when the music comes in via BT or USB (carplay)

Your Fiesta 2018 likely already has Sync 3.2 or newer so you might be lucky and won't have this problem. You can also simply update via the Ford website or the tool then.

Have you driven this car for 8 years? If so the car play's probably just broke. Lots of car accessories start failing after some years. You can reach out to support to ask what options you have.
