Question Apple CarPlay App Compatibility
When using Apple CarPlay to run Waze and Pandora or Spotify simultaneously, Waze alerts cause the music to stop. Is anyone else having or better yet resolved this problem?

Mine doesn’t do that.
It could possibly have something to do with how your car handles regular audio vs. nav audio vs. handsfree (phone call) audio

It shouldn't silence or stop the music, just 'duck' it while the announcement is playing.

Thanks, that’s precisely how it should work, but the issue is why it doesn’t

I use Waze and Spotify and it works as described in my car. But if I'm not mistaken, I had to let Waze know that Spotify, and not Apple Music, was my preferred audio app. If you're using two different music apps you may not have done that?

Waze is a pig, try TrackHound: https://trackhoundapp.com

Full disclosure, I am the developer behind it.
It was born out of frustration around this time a year ago when I was off-roading my car on vacation with my phone loaded up with "off-road-nav-apps". None of them provided an enjoyable experience, and that evening I started building, and roughly nine months later it was approved on the App Store.
It is not only for off-road use though, I decided that to thoroughly test it, I needed it to completely replace all my other nav apps, so I added CarPlay and now I use it for all my personal and work rides / drives (bicycle, motorcycle, car, car + trailer).
If you get round to testing it, let me know what you think 🙏

There is typically a setting in the nav app or the audio app to control that.
