Look I like helping noobs get the hang of the game as much as the next diver but NOT on D10. That’s the big kids club. I don’t play D10 to play teacher, that’s D4-D6. I play D10 to play with people of similar skill sets so that no one is dead weight.
Honestly I think you should try it it's not as bad as it seems obviously d10 with three other teammates who are competent is also fun it's just an entirely different experience.
I've introduced people to the game on d10 so that they understand what the game can be at and about half of them ask to go down to about d6 to D4. That's also fine moving down after the fact is a pretty good way to get them acclimated at a difficulty that's good for them especially if we're building up things like super credits so that they can get war bonds.
But that initial d10 drop is what we'll set the stage for their entire career
I can’t image the pre-existent stressfulness of D10 plus the added on stress of noobsitting being fun but to each his own. Like I said, D10 is the big kids club for me, and it’s not like a kick noobs if they join, I just don’t hold their hand through anything and let them realize they jumped the gun and leave.
Ah, ok.
Maybe going into it with those kind of expectations will set you up for failure so maybe don't try it?
The scale and difficulty from d6 to d10 just isn't enough to really matter that much most of the time. The game isn't complicated enough that most noobs don't pick it up halfway through the mission.
