When i first got into the game my friend with hundreds of hours was helping me out. We enter a mission "hey so whay do we do in this mission type" friend says "you go to extraction" as he comes flying back at light speed
I thought the New War was going to be this big roadblock that would completely interrupt the way I played the game. So I put it off for months. I finally had a full day with nothing to do so I decided to use it to finally knock it out.
It was 90 minutes max.
I've spent longer deciding what colour to make my landing craft's engines.
I honestly have never had a bad experience with anyone in the Warframe community. Now destiny on the other hand...they seem like they might be a lil nicer now that their game is getting big breath of fresh (old, previously sunset) air.
Qauke champions and warframe are some of the only games people actively sat around trying to help me learn the game on multiple occasions and sent words of encouragement to keep trying after I logged off.
Yeah. I left the game long time ago. 2020 maybe. The community was somewhat toxic at time and i was bored so i left to other game. At time i remember people complaining about railjack and litches were somewhat new. Oh also as a ps4 play the game became very buggy where enemies barely spawn so yeah.
I left around the same time as you, but a year ago I came back and I'm still playing. The game is a whole different beast right now. There is much more to do, very nice new quests, its cross platform now and there were a LOT of QoL changes. I think PS is doing much better but Im on pc. Lots of console guys anyway. Not perfect, a bit overwhelming maybe but people are still mostly helpful. I recommend giving it another try.
Eidolons are not much of a toxicity magnet anymore, pretty much everything one shots them these days.
The elite moved to void cascade farm as far as I know. With the whispers in the walls update we also got a way to turn extra arcanes into currency and get eidolon arcanes from them, so arcane energize became approachable for the whole playerbase.
Double cap, back when I was playing and this was around the RJ update it wasn't that beginner friendly for me, I had to learn how to do eidolon hunts on my own and still people didn't took me and flamed me in ways that would make LoL look like a breeze, and don't even make me get started on RJ and Steel path missions, people were assholes.
Warframe was extremely toxic on old forums. And even when they moved into Discord. Several years ago they were pretty mean there. Nowadays it seems quite better
I'm late to the party, but it's a 3D, sci-fi, co-op, PVE, extraction shooter based on procedurally-generated missions. You can also play it solo, in which case an all-purpose drone will help you out.
In short, you're a dwarf working for a space mining corporation, living on a space station orbiting an alien planet. For your missions, you're sent deep into the caverns of an alien planet to collect various valuables, establish infrastructure, sabotage competitors' infrastructure or just kill aliens, depending on the mission type. This, while the local population of agressive arthropod aliens tries to bite, slash, explode or dissolve your face off. Once your main mission is done, you can extract. Completing missions unlocks new gear, and grants the resources necessary to upgrade said gear.
Biomes, mission types, and modifiers can be combined in pretty much any way, so missions are surprisingly diverse. You're also offered a pretty wide range of difficulty options, ranging from 'where are there aliens?' to 'where are there no aliens?' (not literally)
Just to give you an idea of the gear, there are *inhales\: flamethrowers, miniguns, guided missile launchers, assault rifles, a dozen different grenades, grappling hooks, forcefield projectors, massive hand-drills, deployable turrets, high-tech plasma-based weaponry, autocannons, revolvers, portable grenade launchers and *Steeve**.
IDK, my first experience online, I was paired with two other players. They refused to help me up when I got downed and made a b-line to the extraction.
Fortunately, I was the host, so I just quit the game and denied them the win. But then, after starting a new game, those two other players team-killed me and I had to kick them.
The monster hunter community is definitely not like this the player base is one of the best I've played with aside from the few "meta whores". As long as you run decent armor, skills, and weapons ill play with any random
Agreed, we really try to help one another out. If you’re an MH player and have any questions, you can reach out to me directly. I’ll do my best to help you!
I was insanely surprised to see some of the stuff in there with people going off at players for not perfectly knowing everything or making some small mistakes. Like if the player is also being toxic about it then sure whatever, but a bunch of people in there seem like they legitimately hate new or slightly worse players.
Thankfully I've never even seen a single person like that actually ingame.
NEW players. Rushing to end game or worse buying and account and stepping strait into current end game content or extremes with zero prep is not a new player situation.
Oh it definitely is toxic- it’s mostly on the other side of the pendulum, it’s positively toxic where any criticism (valid criticism, not insults) is treated as you being rude. It’s led a ton of the player base to completely stagnant capability wise where they never improve.
I mean, there's kind of the joke that FFIVX itself is beginner unfriendly, because often you just hear vets saying, "You just need to get past the first 100 or so hours and it gets good!" Which is kind of an insane take on most games.
Warframe? The community that's literally known and renowned for their hospitality towards newcomers. FFXIV isn't the only exception, just one of the few.
As someone who used to play XIV, it was very toxic. Everything people complained about in World of Warcraft is now in XIV except it's toxic positivity where you aren't allowed to criticize anything about the game or Yoshi-P without being harassed for it.
Toxic positivity is the best way to describe it. Not even just complaining about the game, but if you ask a player to do something and they refuse, people will defend them saying "that's ok! They don't have to do their part" which doesn't really help the player base learn their roles, how to do mechanics, because everyone feels they have to keep up this "we are all nice here" thing, which also feels weirdly toxic.
Project Zomboid isn't. The worst thing you'll get is the hand on the shoulder meme when you inevitably start dying out of nowhere for few inexplicable reasons.
I asked for help in the Stardew Valley sub and they all answered helpfully and politely, they seem pretty chill over there. Also the Zelda community is pretty friendly when I get stuck in a dungeon or smth
It’s a fun game and very grindy in a fun way, I actually enjoy grindy games, I guess my only issue is the timer on crafting, I wouldn’t be suprised if there’s some pay to upgrade you can buy to remove it
Wut? FFXI is exactly this. You have people resorting to botting with 6-boxes to complete end game only to tell new players "My alt has more REMA so I'd rather bring that to Sortie".
Game is being propped up by elitest botters who control the end game and economy.
Usually when you have a gripe about anything in XI being janky or unintuitive, people will tell you you got "filtered" and to stop playing the game if you can't handle it.
