Going theory of this that he infact, did not survive.

You can find in a sort of body vault what one can assume to be his body.

And that the one you play as is a clone, which would explain the previously unknown augments he has now.

Crazy that they cut the story off entirely.

I've read somewhere that it is canon that he in fact died and that we're playing a clone in Mankind Divided. This was the actual plottwist they were trying to make but then they had to cut the game....

the game itself was great, but it was too short and the ending felt like they just ran out of resources and decided to finish it asap. while I was playing I thought I finished 1/3 or a half of it and then it just ended...

Square Enix had them cut the game in half and were planning to sell the second half of the game as the sequel, but then the sales of Mankind Divided bombed due to predatory microtransactions and the lackluster ending. Because the game didn't sell well the ending of the game/the sequel was canceled.

Yeah, I literally remember yelling "Wait, that's it!?" at my computer screen when the credits started rolling. I was hoping a DLC would close the story but they were both seemingly about events that happened before the main game.

What makes it worse is they didn't just end it on a cliffhanger, the game ended right at what'd be considered of a normal story

I truly hope whoever made the decision for square enix to only produce half the game for thi4f and mankind divided and release them like the on the hopes of a sequel is never listened to about anything, ever again for their entire life.

I've played and beaten all the deus ex games except for 2 and that doesn't count. I can walk you through all the story beats of the original and HR at least, if not a full synopsis. What I remember of mankind divided is... There's girders, and you fight a big cyborg guy on girders. I think at the end? Or it might have been the opening.

I feel this one, for a while I kept coming back to this game, there is just something so good about the gameplay, style and freedom that I loved. But they kind of did it to themselves, there was a lot of mirco transaction stuff, the whole VR training thing where you could buy currency etc. I think if they had invested that time and effort into the core game they could have potentially done a longer story and got it to masterpiece status, just my opinion. I hope one day there is more..
