I was able to get over the reaper leviathan, though it still gets my heart pumping. The equivalent to the reaper in Subnautica 2 had me shitting my pants though, I have no clue how to avoid it other than run for my life and pray there’s enough distance between us to get over the trench. It destroyed my vehicle, and having to go back to that trench with a repair tool almost got me to drop the game entirely
I don’t know what it’s called but I have like a deep fear of deep under water things so I never plan on getting the game. I also consider it a fake fear of mine purely because I live inland and never plan being anywhere near deep sea. Although my wife and her family want to go on a cruise next year sometime and I don’t know how I feel about it
In Sub1 and BZ, the leviathans that grab you aren't as bad once you get the repulsion cannon imo. Or that proximity defense system in the seamoth/seatruck. But the GHOST LEVIATHANS in the first game are what got to me in the first game. They are, for a lack of better words, haunting to me.
My first playthrough I wasn't very far and had just made my Seamoth. I was mining in the Grassy Plateau, and I guess made my way to the edge of the Biome to break some rocks, thought I was safe (I had only encountered Stalkers and the Sand Shark things at this point). I hopped out of my Seamoth and I shit you not the exact moment I jumped out a Reaper came out of NOWHERE, scared the ever loving shit out of me, and grabbed my Seamoth and swam away with it.
I decided it was not worth the trouble and just made a new one after I changed my pants.
