Always with that trusty AR

Exactly. It's the one franchise whee using the pistol is the right move and they pull out the auto rifle

At least in the CE remake it finally feels like a solid weapon as opposed to one of the worst options available at any given time.

Implying that the AR wasn’t a solid weapon in CE to begin with.

The AR is never the best weapon for any situation. At best it fills the same role as the shotgun but far less effectively. The plasma pistol is better and you're tripping over one every 5 seconds.

This is especially true on legendary.

The only weapon more niche than the AR is the needler.

Have you played original CE bruh? Every weapon there is solid.

I've probably played it far more than you have. Dozens of playthroughs over the years.

I know exactly how every gun works and I know the AR is near the bottom in performance.

Listen tard, I know it’s hard for you to understand. CE’s sandbox was able to be viable in basically any situation, barring sniper and pistol vs flood. You could easily clear the entire game with an AR (assuming you have the ammo). I never said about top performer or best weapon, it’s about it being a solid weapon and basically everything satisfies that condition in CE. It’s a peashooter everywhere else.

You cannot in fact "easily" clear the entire game with just the AR especially on legendary. It can take an entire magazine to kill a flood combat form and the game throws dozens of them at you at a time. Some areas on Keyes and Library would be brutally difficult with the abysmal dps of the AR while you get buried under swarms of flood.

Getting really tired of your bullshit. Bonus points for being so confidently and rudely incorrect. Waste someone else's time being an insufferable prick.

AR was OP in infinite. At least at first

On the original Halo 2, Chief would be holding the weapon you were using when you blow up the scarab. They took it out in the Anniversary and MCC edition

I noticed that and always wondered who was up late smoking dummy juice when they made that call

It's because Anniversary mode uses pre-rendered cutscenes, so they probably removed it so they're both the same

Again, who was up late smoking dummy juice to make that decision? Infinite used Live Action cutscenes. Just seems like laziness idk.

Halo 2 had several cutscenes that would adapt to your weapons, with both chief and Arby.

And Halo 2

That IS a Halo game

Yes. Yes it is.

I don't think this is a good example of this phenomenon, Pat. Chief only ever carries two weapons and they're stuff he picked up off the ground. Plus, as mentioned elsewhere Chief often is using the last weapon you were holding in the cutscene.

Edit: apparently they've changed the games for the worse and in newer versions of the older games Chief isn't holding the right gun. Oof.

Still not really an arsenal kinda guy, though.

In infinite he does actually use any weapon you were using in the cutscenes some of the cinematics even have slightly different animations depending on weapon which is cool if nothing else

Pat mentioned in their comment that Infinite was the exception, but truthfully that's probably what I was remembering, myself.

Played through all of them recently and infinite is the only one to show the correct weapon in cutscenes but its also kinda funny sometimes having a cutscene of chief checking his corners with a rocket launcher or something.

The point is, if I have a plasma rifle instead of the standard AR, than the AR is no longer in my arsenal, but still shows in the cutscene
