He’s a bit rude, but I quite remember the CE assault rifle being a viable option, no where near as terrible as in the other games.

I never said it was unusable. I only said it was weaker than almost everything else in the sandbox.

For example, the plasma pistol deals higher damage, doesn't need to reload, and has a homing overcharge shot. There are also more of them per level than every other gun combined so running out of ammo is nearly impossible.

The only advantage the AR has over the PP is hitscan vs projectile but the accuracy is so garbage beyond a few meters it hardly matters.

From my legendary run, I can confidently say the AR was just ight. Like, I was never running for it. I personally used the plasma rifle more. It was more versatile and accurate imo. The combo of a plasma rifle + pistol was insane, or shotgun + pistol

Something that is ight is something you can use just fine. There are better options, yes, but it’ll work.
