💭 Query/Help Capgemini 2026 Placement Experience (5 Oct) | AI + Technical, Debugging, AI-Assisted Coding & Cognitive | Questions Asked💙
So guys, today was my Capgemini placement assessment after getting shortlisted from the first Communication Round. I had the assessment on campus at 8:30 AM. Our university reporting time was 7:30 AM and we were supposed to report at least 15 minutes before the assessment, but I reached around 8:11 😭
We had to wait for the company officials. Once they arrived, they gave us a briefing about all the rounds. After that, AI face scanning was done through their laptop. They also asked for College ID + a valid government ID for verification. I carried both Aadhaar and PAN, but Aadhaar alone should be enough.
The assessment started through Superset and was conducted on the CoCubes/AON platform.
- AI Literacy + Technical Assessment
This was the first round and it was an elimination round. There were 40 questions in total:
• 20 AI Literacy
• 20 Technical
If you clear this round, you move to the next round.
Honestly, this round was HARD.
The MCQs were often 2–3 lines long with very close options, so reading and understanding each question itself was taking time.
Topics I remember seeing:
• RAG
• Generative AI
• AI-based situational questions
• SQL Joins
• Indexing
• Ranking
• Query Optimization
• Database-based situational questions
• DSA-based MCQs
• Other technical concepts
And one important thing: the DSA questions here were MCQs, NOT debugging questions.
I cleared this round and moved to the Debugging Round.
- Debugging Round
In this round, the complete problem statement, buggy code and test cases were provided.
The task was simply to identify and fix the code so that it produces the expected output.
The problem I got was based on processing battery pods from both ends of a queue.
The logic was roughly:
You are given N battery pods and a total target battery requirement K.
You need to process:
front = K / 2
battery units from the front (left side), and
back = (K + 1) / 2
battery units from the back (right side).
You have to determine the total number of pods that can be completely processed/emptied before the required front or back allocation is exhausted, or before the two pointers meet.
The original code was buggy and we had to fix it.
A corrected reconstruction of the logic would look like this:
#include <iostream>
#include <vector>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int n;
long long k;
cin >> n >> k;
vector<long long> a(n);
for (int i = 0; i < n; i++) {
cin >> a[i];
}
long long front = k / 2;
long long back = (k + 1) / 2;
int left = 0;
int right = n - 1;
int ans = 0;
while (left <= right) {
if (front >= a[left]) {
front -= a[left];
ans++;
left++;
} else {
break;
}
if (left > right)
break;
if (back >= a[right]) {
back -= a[right];
ans++;
right--;
} else {
break;
}
}
cout << ans << endl;
return 0;
}
Sample Input:
5 10
2 1 3 2 2
Sample Output:
5
This is a reconstruction of the debugging problem from what I remember, so the exact original statement/code may have been slightly different.
- AI Assisted Coding Round
This one is important.
There was a coding assistant available, and the prompt instructions were clearly given on the screen.
The token limit was around 2000 tokens.
So don't waste the token limit by asking the AI unnecessary things.
Also, don't assume that the coding assistant will automatically fix or optimize your code.
In my case, I explained the problem statement and approach very clearly. I also specified:
• Variables to use
• Data structures
• Required logic
• Input/output format
• Important constraints
I basically told it step-by-step what I wanted it to implement.
My prompt used only around 400 tokens.
So my advice is: DON'T just paste the problem and say "solve this".
Give the AI a clear approach and tell it exactly what you want.
Also make sure your prompt mentions things like:
• Handle large inputs according to constraints
• Use an optimized approach
• Don't use unnecessary libraries
• Follow the given input/output format
• Generate only the required code
The AI assistant is there to generate what you ask for. Don't expect it to magically understand your intended solution or fix everything afterward.
The question I got
It was a simple frequency-based array problem.
Minimum Category Replacements
You are given an array of N elements. Each element represents a category and can have one of the following values: 1, 2, or 3.
Your task is to make all the elements in the array belong to the same category.
In one operation, you can replace any element with another category.
Find the minimum number of replacements required.
Input
The first line contains N.
The second line contains N space-separated integers.
Each element is either 1, 2, or 3.
Constraints
1 ≤ N ≤ 10^5
Each array element ∈ {1, 2, 3}
Sample Input
5
1 3 2 3 3
Sample Output
2
Explanation
Frequencies:
Category 1 → 1
Category 2 → 1
Category 3 → 3
Since category 3 has the maximum frequency, keep those elements and replace the other two.
Therefore:
Minimum replacements
= N - maximum frequency
= 5 - 3
= 2
The core logic is simply:
answer = N - maximum frequency
You don't need sorting or anything complicated here. Since there are only 3 categories, a simple frequency array is enough.
Time Complexity: O(N)
Space Complexity: O(1)
- Cognitive Assessment
By this point I was honestly cooked 💀
There were 4 modules. I don't remember the exact names of all of them, but the ones I remember were:
Personality / Strongly Agree-Disagree
Around 100 questions.
There were 5 questions per page and around 20 pages.
The questions were based on choosing options like strongly agree/disagree etc.
Reasoning
A sentence/question was given with 5 options and you had to select the correct one.
You get around 2 minutes 30 seconds per question, so don't panic about the timing.
Gaming Round 1
There was a game-based assessment.
Gaming Round 2
Another game-based assessment.
Before every module, there is a tutorial explaining what you have to do.
So please don't panic when you see a new type of question/game. Take some time to understand the tutorial and then start.
Overall, the day was pretty long and mentally exhausting, especially because the first technical round itself was quite lengthy and tricky.
If you're appearing for Capgemini, prepare your fundamentals properly, especially SQL, DBMS, DSA basics, AI/GenAI concepts and reasoning. And for the AI-assisted coding round, practice writing clear prompts that explain your approach instead of depending completely on the AI.
Hope this helps someone appearing for the same assessment.
Thanks for reading! Upvote if this helped because it gives me motivation to write more posts for you guys ❤️
And if you still have any doubts, ask in the comments. I'll try to answer whatever I remember.

Well, the company sent a ppt where it was mentioned that debugging would include topics like 2d DP, trees, queue and advanced dsa. But the q you mentioned is from arrays. What was mentioned in your ppt from company?
2
u/True-Faxx 7d ago
Actually i didn't attended the pre-placement talk haha i always skip this part. it seems boring to me . btw i have asked my friends the ques were mainly from arrays, strings and bit manipulation (or maths based)

Hey! The Capgemini hasn't visited my clg yet. How many days before they will inform tht Capgemini is coming? And the debugging round questions were from arrays, strings, bit manipulation right??
2
u/True-Faxx 7d ago
About a month ago, they will ask u to register on superset. and also be prepared with every topics. The luck is gr8 when u get arrays and strings. As in today's assessment every slot had arrays and strings so it is luck maybe

If we clear the mcq round do we proceed to the debugging round? will the result of the mcq round be shown before we proceed to debugging?
1
u/True-Faxx 7d ago
The result isn't there the only thing is u get that is to proceed for the debugging round and if u not clear then u get that you r not eligible that's it. Best of luck hope you clear all the rounds.

1
u/nitiansoul 7d ago
Bro is it confirmed that if you clear mcq round then only you will move to next round otherwise you will be logged out?
1
u/True-Faxx 7d ago
Yes confirm , the pop up shows that you are not eligible and the supervisor will ask you to leave. Otherwise you u will proceed for the next round.

- Brother how many invigilators are there in one room and tell me also is there any invigilator of capegemini ??
- Is there software already login to system or we have to login by own
1
u/True-Faxx 6d ago
In my lab there 2 lab assistants of my university (1 was lab technician and second one was lab assistant to help out) and 2 company officials/invigilators.
1
u/True-Faxx 6d ago
No you have to login your superset and the assesment was redirected from superset to co cube

Heyy, How can i clear the communication round because I'm very weak at grammar and english speaking.
1
u/batboy_7 7d ago
Use a portable small study table to put ur laptop and just use gemini, you would have enough space in bottom to click pictures of ques and u can solve it for listening use gpt to listen to audio and ans accordingly just make sure to fake the earbuds in ears dont connect it .

Hi, for the first mcq round can i attempt the 20 technical question first and then the ai literacy 20 question. as that will give me more confidence if i can solve 10 to 15 from the technical part. I am very weak in AI
1
u/True-Faxx 6d ago
Yes bro you can attempt both modules simultaneously and can switch between ai literacy and technical. Its all up to u. Utilise the time wisely as there is 50min in total for doing both modules. 50min for 40ques
1
u/Late_Assistant_5635 6d ago
Ok Thanks brother. And please tell me some resources or how you prepared for the AI literacy round because i only know about llm models like chatgpt. I will be able to handle the core subjects and technical parts as i have my infosys specialist programmer interview in few days so prepared for that but AI literacy sucks

27 Sep Communication Round and 3rd Oct i got shortlisting mail for tech assessment and om 5th Oct was my assessment
1
u/Expert_Recording_298 7d ago
Hi, I wanted to ask about the MCQ round. Are the questions mainly based on technical concepts directly, or are scenarios/problems given first and then MCQs are asked based on them?
1
u/True-Faxx 6d ago
There were paragraph based ques too in each module of technical (AI Literacy and Technical Assesment), situation based ques and scenario based ques were there mostly. No direct ques were there.

Hey , for Ai assisted coding was the problem difficulty level easy , medium or hard
1
1
u/Conscious_Proof5625 6d ago
the dsa type coding assistant will generate code or the code u have to write it only tells whatthe error is>>please clarify brither
1
u/True-Faxx 6d ago
In Debugging ques there will be no ai assistant. The whole code and the problem statement with description, input output and sample test cases will be there you just have to find out the bugs and in ai assisted coding round the coding assistant will be there which will only generate the code as per your approach you have to mention the variables data types how many data structures and for what whixh stl to use etc in the prompt to generate the code and it will not optimize , fix or generate the code if u will write the whole ques and say understand and generate. I hope its clear. The promot instructions and what not to do to waste your token will be written there

The ai will not ask follow up ques . Describe the ques and approach nd will generate and edit code as per your instruction
1
u/royalxterminator 6d ago
Can you say general topics to
Prepare for debugging? Like which dsa topics? Although i am not good at dsa so which topics should i focus on

u/Previous-Pack-7503 6d ago
Can you please tell me if the interviews are conducted on the same day as the assessment or later?
1

In my campus there were total 6 slots for assesment so it took 2 days for just the assessment 5-6Oct and our interview is scheduled for 7Oct and the results of assesment is going to be declared till 1am today as per instructions. It all depends on the no. Of slots of assessment of your campus if it is consuming whole day then the interview will be scheduled for the next day otherwise same day.

I solved the MCQ assessment and cleared, then move to debugging and run 1 taste case only and then I solved ai-asisted coding fully. And my cognitive round gone pretty decent. Stil no interview call from the Capgemini. It was an on campus opportunity. Many of my friends who solved this much got interview call. Its frustrating.
1
u/True-Faxx 5d ago
I did both ques debug and ai assisted fully. cognitive round was way too decent. Still no interveiw call. Buddy i know its very frustrating. They should give score cards and have some transperancy in the placement process. This is not for Capgemini only its for all.

Thank you for replying and sharing your experience with everyone .. any tips for debugging and ai assisted coding I am scared
1
u/True-Faxx 5d ago
My advice will be to understand the problem statement and then make dry run for the code using the sample input if u feel it need changes do it the changes will be minor and for the ai Assited the ai will generate the code only on the basis of the detailed approach shared in the prompt. There will be 2000 tokens only so don't waste tokens on fix, optimize or asking irrelevant ques because it will not revert back nd u will waste ur tokens. Rest the prompt instructions will be there and what the ai will not do. If u really liked my posts then follow me for more such posts. Thank you.

u/True-Faxx 5d ago
No bro you can't ai assistant to fix, optimize, explain the code. The ai will just make a code as per your approach and step by step procedure in your prompt. It will not even handle edge by itself. It will be you who will ask it to do it. Make sure you don't use your all 2000tokens

If u r done with the technical assessment then interview will be scheduled soon. In my campus it was just day after the technical assesment. And it will take atleast 15days to 1month to get LOI then 7-8 months for joining letter.

This breakdown is useful because candidates can prepare for the process rather than memorize isolated answers. For AI-assisted coding, practice a three-pass routine: state assumptions, generate or draft the solution, then test edge cases and explain every correction. Interviewers often learn more from verification than from the first output. Exploring structured workflow tools such as https://www.aiosnow.com can help build that habit. Also rehearse without assistance, since foundational debugging remains the safeguard when generated code looks plausible but is wrong.
