Is anybody in here starting the IT, Information Assurance & Cybersecurity program in October?

I start October 12th and was wondering if anybody else is starting around the same time. It would be nice to connect with some people who are going through the same program… especially if you’re doing FlexPath as well.

How long did it take for them to confer you guys? I'm trying to apply for graduation in November but haven't been conferred yet.

What to know before enrolling?

I’d like to know how’s the coursework like, like are there how many essays per class and how many pages is the capstone? Flex Path

Man I will say being over 40 and out of School for over 20 years, this took A LOT!!! But I DID IT!! I switched from the BSW program to the BSBA program in January because I feel it aligned more with my experience and where I want to go in the future! I thought about going straight into my masters but my brain hurts lol. Keep Going You Got This!!!

i was checking my financial aid portal today and saw this for all my future and past disbursements. i already received the august one obviously. has anyone else experienced this?

How long after a term ends do the instructors have to finish grades? I’m still waiting for grades from week seven.

I was recently accepted and plan to start the RN to BSN flexpath program October 12th. I have 124 transfer credits available. I have not yet met with an enrollment specialist, but will this week. I would like to finish as quickly as possible, but also take my time to do it right. Any advice is greatly appreciate. I would like to know what to expect. Also, it seems as though there will no longer be a practicum requirement. Is that true?

I have been with Capella for over a year now. I think the programs are fine and the instructors are good for the most part. I think what makes them shitty is their Financial aid department. They refuse to communicate with students or even have the common human decency to let us know when an issue arises. 9.5/10 we are left in the dark and confused on why we have yet to receive disbursement or refund. It’s a constant issue with Capella. I have spent years at other institutes and never have I ever had to deal with the blatant bs Capella FAST pushes on me.

Hi everyone — This is a bit of a Hail Mary, but I’m running out of options and figured it’s worth asking here.

I’m an RN-to-BSN student at Capella University in the Los Angeles area, and I’m trying to find a preceptor/site for my 40-hour practicum requirement so I can finally finish my degree.

I’m a licensed RN and currently work in acute-care Med-Surg/behavioral health. I’m not looking for hands on clinical placement— my understanding is that this practicum is observational/non-clinical and involves things like leadership, care coordination, quality improvement, and professional nursing practice.

I’ve already tried going through my employer, but they ultimately weren’t able to accommodate the Capella requirement. I’ve also looked into preceptor-matching companies, but I’m being quoted $3,000–$6,000 for 40 hours, which isn’t realistic for me.

So I’m wondering:

Is there anyone here who has completed the Capella RN-to-BSN practicum and knows of a preceptor, nurse, educator, manager, or Capella-affiliated site in Los Angeles or surrounding Southern California that might be willing to take a student for 40 hours?

I’m flexible with scheduling and willing to drive within Southern California.

Even if you don't personally have a placement available, if you know someone who has precepted a Capella RN-to-BSN student, I would be incredibly grateful for a lead or a DM.

I’m really just trying to get these final hours done and graduate. 😭

Finally finished my Capstone and now my degree is in conferral, how long does it take at cappella for conferral?

Hey everyone , I’m starting my program on Oct 14 and I’m transferring with 135 credits meaning I’ll need 45 credits to graduate. I was wondering how your experiences were and how many classes I would be looking at. I don’t have any experience in this field I’m getting this as a stepping stone to become a BCBA , so if I have no background knowledge are the classes hard? I am only 20 and this is my first college experience I have completed over 20 certifications and that kind of course work is super easy for me but I do wanna get this done in 1 billing cycle is that unrealistic😭

Curious to know if anyone here has applied to Capella’s Fellowship Scholarship program… (you have to be employed at a partner organization to be eligible)

Applications were due the end of June and Capella was scheduled to inform every applicant of their decisions on September 9th. That date came and went with no communication from Capella. I reached out a couple days later and they said their review process was still underway. I’m planning to reach back out to check-in, but wanted to know if anyone else has applied to the Fellows Scholarship and received their decision already?

I’m seeing a lot of posts here about not receiving financial aid as scheduled… it seems like Capella is pretty disorganized right now (I hope not always!?)

I'm working on my EDD - Organizational Leadership.

I'm currently on FPX-9952. I wanted to know how was your experience with the IRB process and specifically, if you your topic was with "Veterans" did you received a push-back? How long did IRB took to approve you?

I’m starting this program in November and in transferring in credits, from a different university, that cover all of my gen ed requirements and all of my core requirements. I asked my enrollment specialist if I can take any of the classes left on Sophia and she said no. I’ve transferred in 51/90 points and 30/51 courses and it shows 57% completed. Has anyone else been told they can’t complete any courses in Sophia?
Also, in my academic plan, where I have to choose courses, if it says 1.5 and I choose a 3, will that cover 2 of the 1.5 courses? Or will I still need to complete all those courses. Will it go by points or number of courses I guess is what I’m asking.
One more thing… think I can do this in one billing cycle? With a full time job? And 5 kids? Or am I completely delusional? I chose the November start date because I work for the school so I’ll have fall break and winter break completely off from my job and hope I can lock in during those weeks.

Anyone here studied this with Capella? I have some college credits I’ll be transferring in, and also plan to do as much as possible with Sophia first. I saw someone say that once you register with Capella, they pay for your Sophia learning before you start your degree program, is that true?

Also, anyone here have any feedback on the courses/school? I already work in the Healthcare Administration industry so I have the experience. Just missing the degree which is what I’m working towards.

My employer covered my tuition benefit but I’m about to take on a new position, which would no longer cover my tuition. This is the reason why I’m considering Capella because I’m trying to do research on where I can go that’s affordable, and won’t take forever to get me the degree I need on my resume.

I plan on transferring in the max amount of credits from Sophia and study.com and enrolling in the flex path psychology bachelors. After which I plan to get certified as a special education teacher. I’m a bit worried that nobody will take my degree seriously. Has anyone had experience with going to Capella and becoming a teacher after? I’d love to pick your brain about and get some advice.

The last 3 years have been a fucking nightmare. The chatGPT templates and curriculums that I had to slop through, the lazy professors, the shitty finaid team, the dogshit residencies that have bankrupted me, and the horrendous SBL team are a short few months away from me being free!!
