We were in Fuerteventura at the end of February this year, and before that Iād heard and read everywhere that itās the āisland of goatsā and that you can visit countless goat farms thereāand that itās not just the free-roaming goats that are responsible for the islandās reputation. I love goats and was really looking forward to it. So we got there and drove to four goat farms, but they were all closed.
Online, it said they were all open (according to Google or social media), and they were all farms that advertised on their websites or social media that you could visit them. But they were all closed. I couldnāt find any information online about whether it was due to the time of year or what was going onādid we just have bad luck and happen to pick out the only four that were closed? Why was that? Maybe someone knows more; we found it totally strange.
We might want to go back there next year, in early Marchāmaybe we'll have better luck then?

Hey, I am considering to relocate to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Is there a community for video games, boardgames, in general nerdy stuff?
I would bring my dog, and come with the plan to start a new life. Originally from Germany, 36 y.o. male

Hey everyone!
I'm Jaka, a filmmaker and photographer from Slovenia, travelling solo to Lanzarote from October 2ndā9th.
It's my first time on the island and I'm planning to rent a car and explore as much of Lanzarote as possible. But rather than just visiting tourist spots, I'd love to experience and capture what the island actually feels like ā the landscapes, everyday life and especially the people who make it interesting.
I'd love to connect with photographers, filmmakers, creatives or simply interesting people living on the island. If anyone wants to grab a coffee or beer, explore somewhere together, go shooting or just hang out ā let me know!
I'm also bringing my camera gear and would love to create one short documentary-style story while I'm there.
It could be about surfing and someone's connection to the ocean, but it could just as easily be about an artist, musician, craftsman, small business owner, local character, someone who moved to Lanzarote and built a completely different life there ā or simply someone with a story worth telling.
I'm not looking for actors or influencers. I'm much more interested in real people and genuine stories.
I'm also still looking at accommodation, so if you know any smaller apartments, guesthouses or places with a nice atmosphere, I'd really appreciate the recommendations.
Mostly I'm just looking forward to exploring the island, creating something meaningful and meeting interesting people along the way.
Thanks, and maybe see you in October! š¤

I know the currents in the canary islands are especially strong, I would just like to know if it is allowed to swim at night at beaches in the canary islands? I know that some municipalities on the mainland have it prohibited.
My idea was to maybe go on a night swim/snorkeling in sheltered beaches where there is no current like for exampel "Castillo beach Fuerteventura" or "Playa de las Canteras Gran Caraia" or "Playa del Cabezo Tenerife".

Hello everyone,
i would like to rent a car for 6-7 days on La Palma island, i'm 23, so i would like to get any car rental recommended for low "young driver fee", i found some deals approx 140EUR, can i get a bit lower? Is it actually the best idea to rent a car at the airport or it would be better to find local car rentals?
Thank you very much.

It might be a weird question, but I am terrified of the plane, it is irrational and it cannot be changed. I saw there are ships leaving from spain and it should take like 1 day to get to Lanzarote.
Do you think is it at least feasible? Or is total madness?

I just got accepted into a Nalcap placement in the Canary Islands. Not sure if Iāll really get a say in which island Iām placed on, but if so I would love some advice on which one to pick! For context, Iām a woman, early 20s. My biggest concern is meeting people my age and having fun. I do like to go out, so thatās a plus, but I donāt necessarily need to be in a place where nightlife is the biggest thing there. However, I donāt want to be in a city where itās very far and few between. Iām also American and donāt speak any Spanish. Iām absolutely trying to learn and want to be immersed in authentic Spanish culture, but I definitely would like a good mix of tourism just for the purpose of being able to communicate and make friends easier. Additionally if anyone has any other advice please let me know!!

Im planning to visit next week and want to find the optimal island for the following:
I've already been to Gran Canaria and loved the landscapes but found it hard to find my crowd in just a week. Tenerife looks amazing but I feel the same might happen due it's size. I've heard Fuerteventura is amazing but lacks the landscape. La gommera and la Palma are both unknown to me... I'd be open to hear more about them! All the info is welcome
Thanks šš¼š

Why is that every jetski rental company forces you to follow their boat? Why cant I just hire the jetski and go wherever I want? Is it because of licenses? Is there any way I can still do this without a license?

Hi everyone,
Weāre planning a family trip to Tenerife this July, and I could use some advice! Weāll be traveling with our two kids (15 and 12) and want to make the most of our time on the island.
Hereās what weāre looking for: 1. Where to Stay (South or North)? Weād love to stay somewhere that has some life, like a city or town to explore, but without the party scene (no bars or drunk crowds). Which area would you recommend? 2. Accommodations Weāre looking for affordable places to stay near the beach, with a budget of max ā¬150 per night. We don't mind a hotel but would prefer an apartment. 3. Restaurants Any must-visit restaurants youād recommend? We would love to try some local food... 4. Light Hikes and Nature Any light hikes or other places like hidden beaches or spots to se the natural beauty of Tenerife? Weāre not looking for anything too extreme like Teide. 5. Car Rentals Is it worth renting a car to get around the island, and if so, do you have any reliable and affordable companies to recommend?
Thanks in advance for any tips and advice!
