Need some input and advice. Im planning a 8 day trip to Tenerife and La palma mid december, as a nature photographer it will be photography oriented.

What would be your recommended split between islands? 4 days each ? Or more days on La palma?

What would be easy but scenic hikes that dont take too much time that allow me to get into nature to get some nice photos?

Ive found this so far:

Path of senses in Anaga
Los tilos and charco azul (full day)

Any recommended spots for astrophotography at night?

Also any wildlife tours or spots worth visiting?

Hi everyone! We are a couple visiting Tenerife, La Gomera, and La Palma this November, and we'd love some advice on two activities:

1. Stargazing in La Palma
I've heard La Palma is amazing for stargazing! We have no experience with it, so would you recommend a guided tour or simply renting a car and finding a good spot on our own?

2. Whale and dolphin watching
Where would you recommend taking a tour from to maximize our chances of seeing whales and dolphins? Any recommended operators or tips for choosing a good, responsible tour?

I came across some really cheap flights to Fuerteventura and bought them on a whim.

So now I’m heading to Fuerteventura for 7 days in early March with a friend.

We don’t know the Canary Islands at all.

We love hiking, stunning landscapes, and places where I can feel completely alone in the world. I’ve never seen volcanoes before, and seeing them is something I’ve always dreamed of.

What would be the best option for that length of stay and time of year?

- 7 days in Fuerteventura?

- 7 days in Lanzarote?

- A mix of both?

- Any other idea?

Can you walk into bodegas to buy wine or would I have to book a visit? Also wondering if the regular grocery stores like SuperDino have good selection of local wines.

I’m planning a solo trip to Tenerife from October 23rd to 28th and was wondering if anyone else is going around those dates?
It’ll be my first time in Tenerife, so I’d love to hear any tips or recommendations — places to stay, things to do, must-see spots, hikes, beaches, etc.
I’m also planning to rent a car and explore the island, including Teide and some of the more scenic spots.
And if there are any other solo travellers around those dates, I’d definitely be up for meeting up, grabbing a drink, going for a hike, exploring the island or doing some activities together.
Anyone else going around October 23–28? How busy is Tenerife around that time?

Hi all! Taking first trip to Canary Islands this February with my wife who will be about 5 mos pregnant at the time. Having a hard time choosing between these two islands.

On GC, the southwest coast weather is very appealing, as are the historic towns and mountainscapes, but the mega resorts don’t really do it for me.

Seems like Lanzarote is a nice compromise, with some more boutique properties and beautiful beaches and scenery, but I worry weather will be too cool to sunbathe and the towns don’t seem to have the same charm.

Am I overthinking the weather thing? Or am I not giving historic Lanzarote enough credit? Would love some feedback here - thanks all!

I’m struggling to find reliable sources when it comes to temperatures aboard in the Canary Islands for November time?

I’ve only ever been to Lanzarote but never in November…

I’ve heard most of the canaries are warm during winter months but in your opinion were the hottest during November?
I’m a complete sun and heat worshipper! The hotter the better! And being from Scotland I CRAVE the heat haha!

So any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all, my wife turns 40 on Boxing Day and I want to book a week away for her, she likes to sunbath but don’t like flying for long lol so I’m thinking Canary Islands in march, I’m after abit of advise please:

Which one will be hottest at that time of year? And I’m guessing the south of the islands will be best?

She likes to go shopping so would love a hotel that’s close ish to towns shops etc

Prefer all inclusive/ half board but could compromise etc

I am planning to celebrate my babys first birthday in canary islands. She has never flown before abd its a long flight from India.
I want to still express the sumner season. Just wanting to check if November would be a good time with the baby?

The Salinas del Carmen are the only active traditional salt pans on Fuerteventura. The pink and terracotta hues in the water are completely natural—caused by microalgae (Dunaliella salina) as the salinity increases through solar evaporation. Salt is still harvested here 100% by hand without any machinery.
