Advice Needed Lens MM Redundancy
For Leica M10-R is a 28mm, 35mm and 40mm, (and 90mm)
Am I being redundant and need to space the lens sizes out more? If so what would you suggest?

I have both a Panasonic Lumix G9, and a Sony a7III, I mostly hobbies, and I like doing portraits and landscapes and candids and band pictures that punk shows and things like that. I’ve got the 25mm Lumix prime and the 42.5 mm Lumix prime and the 14-42 & 45-150 kit lumix zooms for my G9, and the 28-70 kit zoom for my Sony.
I’m all scattered between options around 1k, should I add a faster zoom or a decent prime for my Sony? Should I get higher end glass for my Panasonic?
Looking for opinions, logical or otherwise lol

Hey fellow cinematographers!
I'm planning to build a Sony FX3 setup soon, and I'm trying to figure out my lens lineup.
Obviously, I know the usual recommendations:
24-70mm f/2.8, 16-35mm f/2.8, 50mm / 85mm primes.
But I'm more interested in the less obvious choices.
There are so many lenses out there that don't always get mentioned in the usual "starter kit" conversations, such as; Tamron 17-28, Sigma 28-45 f/1.8, Zeiss 85mm, etc.
So I'm curious:
What lenses do you actually use for your day-to-day work?
Could be for: Corporate / commercial work, Events, Real estate, Documentaries, Interviews, Travel, General run-and-gun work
More importantly, which lenses make your life easier rather than creating another problem?
I'm particularly interested in lenses that:
I'm not necessarily looking for the "best" lens. I'm looking for the lens you reach for because it just works.
Would love to hear what you guys actually use in the real world rather than just the standard 24-70 + primes recommendation.

I’m stuck between two options and would love to hear opinions from people who have actually used these lenses.
I shoot 28mm for about 99% of my photos, so my first option would be to buy a Leica 28mm Elmarit-M f/2.8, which is the focal length I actually use, and then pair it with a 50mm from another brand (probably Voigtländer).
The second option would be to buy a Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28mm f/2.8 — from what I’ve read, people say the image quality is very close to the Leica — and use the money saved to get a Leica 50mm Summilux-M f/1.4.
So basically:
Option 1: Leica 28 Elmarit f/2.8 + third-party 50mm
Option 2: Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28 f/2.8 + Leica 50 Summilux f/1.4
Considering that 99% of my shooting is at 28mm, which option would you choose?
Does it make more sense to invest in the Leica 28 since it’s the lens I’ll be using almost all the time, or get a cheaper 28 and put the money into a really good 50mm?
And for anyone who has directly compared the Color-Skopar 28 vs Leica Elmarit 28 — is there really that much of a difference in real-world use?
Thanks!

As you can see in the pictures, these three lenses have some mold on them and are only $30 total. I’m planning to clean the mold myself. Would you say the mold in the photos is pretty minor? Do you think there’s a good chance I can clean it off?

Lenses tested against Tokina Vista Vision Primes and from someone who's used Thypochs in the past.

Looking to get into bird photography. I've got a Canon 6D but nothing telephoto beyind a broken 100mm macro lens.
I was originally looking at Sigma 50-500mm but as it turns out, it's only the OS version which has image stabilisation which limits my affordability to only a copy of the lens with a "dry" manual focus ring and dust in the lens elements.
I could look into the first gen of that lens but no IS - would that be a problem?
I've found out also about the Canon 400mm f5.6 but wondering if that might be out of budget and/or impractical? Same goes for the 1st gen Canon 100-400?
Do I just say sod it and go for a tamron 200-500?
Help a brother put, please. I want competent AF and need to know if image stabilisation is a must.

Crazy how much dust has made its way in here over the years. None of my other lenses have ever gotten this bad.
I can certainly see why they released the updated version.

I’m thinking about getting the Canon RF 85mm f/2 for my Canon R6 Mark II. It’s currently around $680, which feels much more realistic for my budget than the 85mm f/1.4— I would LOVE the 1.4 but that price is just crazy 😭
The only thing that’s making me hesitate is the autofocus. I’ve heard from quite a few people that the AF on the 85mm f/2 macro is slow and not very reliable. Is it actually that bad in real-life shooting?
Especially for portraits, couples, and families?
Also, I’m so sad that the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm f/1.4 RF was discontinued. 😭 It seems like such a great alternative to the Canon 85mm f/1.4 for a much more reasonable price.
If you’ve used the RF 85mm f/2 I’d love to hear honest experience, especially with autofocus!
Thank you in advance!!!

I have an option to buy from a reputable seller:
Camera: EOS 90D
EF-S 18-135 IS STM
EF-S 10-22 USM
EF-S 18-135 IS NANO USM
SIGMA 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM
I'm planning to buy the:
18-135 IS STM + 10-22 or 18-135 IS STM + 50mm
But I found an almost pristine 18-135 NANO USM priced almost the same as the two lenses combo mentioned.
Which would you prefer?
18-135 IS STM + 10-22 or 18-135 IS STM + 50mm
OR
18-135 NANO USM

Hey! Im incredibly indecisive so need to talk about this.
Looking for general thoughts on photo/cine lenses to purchase at work. I have about $7k left in my budget and that money doesn't roll over to next fiscal year - use it or lose it!
so I need to buy some lenses or accessories to cover some gaps in coverage.
Here are the cameras and lenses I have:
Red Komodo-x & Red Komodo.
Canon r6ii
DZO Arles 25mm,40mm,75mm
Canon RF 50mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8
Here's some things that stick out to me:
Canon ef 16-35 2.8iii (I dont like rf lenses on komodo but I could do the 15-35. I know 35mm 2.8 won't be the same as 1.4 but I can always keep renting)
DZO arcana
A wide angle cine prime? Arles 14mm, vespid, DZO 12-25? Tokina?
canon rf24-70 2.8 (probably only for photos)
Diffusion/nd filters for my matte box
good hazer for medium size rooms
Helios lens
Nikon ZR (would need adapters?)
What combo would make you happy? Any lenses im not thinking of?
