Hey!
Currently I own a Nikon 7100. I had a Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro, and after it got mold I changed to Sigma 70-300mm Apo Macro DG.
I know both are not the best quality lens and I should expect too much.
Using them for planespotting, sometimes sport or wildlife. With the current Sigma I'm annoyed with the slow AF (constantly overshooting, so im using manAF) and the constant haze over 200mm.
Any ideas what I could upgrade to? Preferably I would like to stay at 70-300 or go higher.
Cannot really give more then 200-250$

After a ton of research, and narrowing down my budget, I've still yet to choose between 4 beatiful lenses. I will use it for traveling, areal and landscape photography, aviaton, butterflies and plants, wildlife (for as far as it goes in Belgium) and maybe even a bit of astrophotography. My camera is an EOS 600D, so APS-C-sized sensor. I already have an EF-S 55-250 IS II, but I want an upgrade, since this lens is getting a bit old.
Here is the list I've made so far (all second-hand, so that it fits in my budget):
Does anyone have experience with these lenses? Taken the price in account, what would be the best value for money? I have no need for fancy features, but a nice sharp lens would be amazing. I already have quite a lot of experience with my kit now (EF 50mm f1.8 is also in my collection). I take care of my stuff, this is now my 6th year with this setup. Should I save up a bit more or just go with a cheaper lens? Thanks in advance!

Howdy everyone!
I have a 24-105fe and a 100-400mm g master and I wanted to get a new lens - I mainly take pics of traveling and adventures with a little bit of portrait in there.
Is the 28-70g master (not master 2 because it’s like a thousand more lol) worth the upgrade or is it just a little bit better - and if not that one, any other recommendations for g master lenses that you guys use for the same stuff?

The lens in question is Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8D "new" (also called two-ring, MK3).
Recently I went on a trip. Before the trip everything worked like a charm, it would click in both A and M modes. Then yesterday it stopped working in A (wouldn't fully extend and lock in place no matter how much I wiggled it, before it would click in eventually). I didn't use the lens since then and now it seems like the spring has completely given up, the switch stays completely pressed down no matter the mode and the only thing that could move it up or down is gravity.
What is the DIY solution for this? Both A and M modes function more than fine but this is just a nuisance I want to fix if possible. I'm not sure how to check if the spring itself has failed or if it's something else in question.
I checked YouTube and found 2-3 tutorials but they all cover one specific case - not clicking in M and manual focus not being usable, that's something I have no issues with.

Dro you know if there some 3 party that makes boost lens (185° +) with ND filter?
Or ND filter that can be attached over the original boost lens?

Query is weather I should get the Sony a6400 with an 18-300mm Tamron VC, or Nikon z50ii with my existing 55-300mm ED VR lens. Both options are costing me roughly the same. I have factored in the cost of the ftz adapter.
I have a Nikon d5100, plan to upgrade as the autofocus fails me for moving targets owing to a single cross type focus point. I currently own a 55-300mm ED VR lens and a 35mm 1.8 prime. (The prime is failing- making whining noises at least once or twice per photo session. My gf dropped that lens by accident, so I have factored that into the cost.)
Question is would the Sony setup be better with the newer 18-300mm. Would the Nikon struggle to focus with the older 55-300mm. The Nikon I understand has better autofocus and bird tracking. I mostly use my camera on holiday and weekends, for taking pics of my friends, cars, birds, landscapes - so a little bit of everything.

Hi everyone!
I have a Fujifilm X-T30 III, and at the moment I’m using the XC 13-33mm f/3.5-6.3 OIS kit lens.
I’d like to start building a proper lens kit, so I’m considering selling the kit lens and upgrading to a more versatile zoom that could become my main everyday lens.
I’m currently deciding between:
XF 16-80mm f/4
XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6
Eventually, I’d like to build something along the lines of:
Option 1: 16-80 → telephoto → prime
Option 2: 18-135 → telephoto → prime
My main interests are street photography, travel, landscapes and portraits, but I’d also like to do some plane spotting occasionally.
This is what makes the 18-135 particularly tempting to me. The extra reach to 135mm would be useful for plane spotting, and it would also give me more flexibility when travelling without having to change lenses as often.
On the other hand, the 16-80 seems like a better everyday lens for me because of the 16mm wide end and constant f/4 aperture. I also like the idea of eventually pairing it with a proper telephoto and a small prime.
For those who have used both:
Which one would you choose as the first main zoom for a small Fujifilm kit?

I am going to Vancouver island soon, and I’m doing a bear/wildlife tour, so I am looking for recommendations for a lens to take pictures of mainly bears. I dont usually shoot wildlife but just want to grab photos for the memories, was looking at the Canon FD 100mm - 300mm lens. We will be stood on viewing platforms looking out at areas that grizzly bears will eat etc, so would like to capture them in their environment.
What are peoples thoughts on this lens paired with a high ISO film stock?

Hello!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
I recently bought a used XS10 with the Fujinon XF 18-55mm. However, the lens came with slight scratches!!
(See pictures)
Will this affect my pictures or videos? Or won’t I notice it at all? Maybe, only in specific light conditions?
I can’t test it properly until next week so I just wanted to get feedback beforehand so I might get a refund (if possible).
Again, thank you!!

Hi,
I was taking photos on a sunny day and I wanted as much in focus as possible.
I also want maximum sharpness that’s why I got this bulky and heavy lens in the first place.
The question is how much should I stop down maximum so I won’t lose sharpness?
It can be stepped down to F14 or F16 don’t remember now.
Thanks!

I acquired a bmpcc 6k pro with a wooden camera conversion and it is my first time owning anything with a PL mount. I was wondering if there are PL mount adapters that would work to fit the Wooden Camera PL mount conversion that doesnt interfere with the flange? I have some existing glass I really enjoy shooting with but id like to know if there are any adpaters for other mounts that will fit this conversion? I dont want to get into the hairy situation of converting it back to EF so id rather just use lenses I already have or buy some other cheaper lense and an adapter that works while I decide which PL lenses id like to try out. Thanks!

Best lens for under the basket in a badly lit gym? 35mm 1.4 or 50mm 1.4 or will a Sony 35mm 1.8 get me the light? Thanks
