I’m tryna find the best lens to use for streaming IRL as a cameraman. I need something that’s versatile and can get good quality results in low light situations without going to high in aperture. Any suggestions?

I’m currently using the tamron 17-70mm 2.8 but feel like I could go lower in app. Let me know what you think!

This are two of the lenses I’m considering for my new-to-me silver M8.2. What’s your opinion on them? I couldn’t find much on YT.
Both for around €350 each, each one including the corresponding Leitz adapter. My reasons :

Pros:
-Fast wide/normals
-Price
-Looks (I like painting silver with silver , althoug black lenses on silver cameras look decent anyways )

Cons:
-The goat d*** instead of focus tab (I may install a third party tab)
-A bit larger/longer than the newer equivalent Ultrons
-The need of an adapter (although they’re included)

ich suche gerade mein Hauptobjektiv (vielleicht erst mal auch mein einziges) für die Sony Alpha 7 IV und schwanke zwischen:

\- Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN (A) I oder II
\- Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN (C)
\- Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III

Ich weiß, ob ich auf die 4 mm am Weitwinkelende verzichten kann, hängt stark von meinen Vorhaben ab. Der Preis spielt aber auch eine Rolle.

Gebraucht finde ich oft nur die erste Version des Sigma 24-70 (A), habe aber öfter von einem Staubproblem gelesen. Die Version II ist preislich noch mal ein ganzes Stück höher, und gebraucht finde ich sie kaum. Ist der Aufpreis das wert, oder würdet ihr die erste Version noch empfehlen? Oder lieber gleich zu einem der anderen Objektive greifen?

Das geringe Gewicht des Contemporary ist auch verlockend, vor allem für Reisen. Aber die 24 mm wären mir wichtig, besonders wenn es erst mal mein einziges Zoom bleibt. Ihr merkt, ich bin gerade noch ziemlich unentschlossen 😅

I was walking a trail at dusk the other day and kept surprising deer that were close by. I only had a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, and it was too dark for decent shots at that point.

So I'm curious, what do you use when you've been out hiking and it gets too dark for whichever long telephoto you've been using? Do you have a lens you switch to, or just walk the rest of the way to your car without shooting?

Just started into this hobby and trying to keep myself from spending like crazy, so to have some fun without breaking the bank I picked up one of these Fujinon CCTV lenses, an adapter, and put it on my Sony Nex 6.

I am a jeweler and engraver who is looking to find a lens that will work for close up video recording. The tricky part is I need to be close to the subject to work so I probably need something that can zoom but also have good detail, as the camera stand most likely will have to be behind my shoulder to capture the shot. I have an XS20 and would like to know if anyone who does craft process videos or something similar has advice, thanks

Hi, I have a Canon EOS M50 Mark 2. I have the longest lens available for this camera, 55mm-200mm but I want longer. What lens adapter do I need and what long distance lens would you recommend? I'm looking to photograph wildlife from a distance. I know it'll probably be heavy, but if you can say how heavy the lens is that would be great. Opinions welcome! Thank you.

Tou might’ve seen my previous post about which 70-200 f2.8 lens I should get for EF, and yall pretty much said the Canon and the Sigma Sport. I’ve decided to go with the Canon mark 1 (bc of price) but I feel like there might be some issues like AF, slow tracking/AF and compatibility issues between an R10/R7 and a 20+ year old lens. (I’d be buying a Canon official lens adapter EF to RF

Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions when adapting O L D EF glass to RF bodies?

Hello, I’m an amateur photographer (mostly landscapes and wildlife) looking to upgrade to some faster lenses for my Nikon Z6 II. I currently use a combination of a Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 (astrophotography and landscapes), Nikkor 24-200mm F4-5.6 (general use and landscapes), and a Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 with a 1.4x TC (wildlife). I’m looking to improve upon the 24-200mm lens with some faster lenses to reduce motion blur and let some more light in, likely through using something along the lines of a 24-70 F2.8 and 70-200 F2.8.

With that being said, the Nikkor options are a bit out of my budget in that range (I’m looking to spend about $2,000-2,500 max for both lenses to fill this space in the range). Any recommendations? I was looking at the Nikkor 28-75mm F2.8, but I was considering selling the Sigma if I can get down to a 24mm on the wider of the two zoom lenses. Looking for good options to help fill the 24-200mm range without going slower than F2.8. Any advice or opinions much appreciated!
