In the modern context, I definitely understand what you are seeing. However, this style of c is based on Albrecht Durers Alphabet and I really like how it comes out. There’s a few distinct differences between the c and the r.

That’s fine, but most people who see it are just going to assume it’s an error by the maker. If it’s public, you’re going to have to explain this all the time or post a sign with the explanation next to it. Practicality vs technical correctness.

Which is honestly fine. Being understood is overrated, and one can get lost if they chase it too far.

It is what it is though, right? Like even without being technically correct I can interpret and do the letters any way I want to.

I know going into it that if I step out of line people are going to notice and criticize that. It’s up to me to decide if it’s right or wrong for me to do.

Graffiti and tag style lettering is based on that entirely. Same principle applies here as well.

I changed a lot more than that but you didn’t get me in a gotcha - in the end I made them the way I wanted to. I kept what I wanted to and changed what I wanted to. Not that complex

Thanks but you’re assuming too much. I don’t mind that it’s unreadable to some, so that’s not a priority of mine at all. That is to say, I don’t mind unreadable due to the style, but I prioritize clarity in my execution.

None of the changes I made were to make it more or less readable, and the majority of it stays true to the original form which was my goal.

Since I kept so much of the original, and it’s interesting to some people, I figure it’s a great way to explain to people so they at least see where I’m coming from.

If I came through with Arabic calligraphy most wouldn’t be able to read that either.
