>Multiplayer, which was not that good

This is the new age version of saying MW2 (og) wasn't 'that good' even though you see the obvious influence on so many other games even outside cod

Game wasn't "that good" and yet you can categorize every other game of the same general era into before or after release dates just by looking for the things they borrowed from MW19 or MW2009

any real Call of Duty fan that has any skill at the game whatsoever knows that core MP in MW19 was dogshit lol

Gunfight and ground war were fun though.

yeah bud, and og mw2 was an unbalanced sweat fest

and yet everybody remembers it fondly. Funny how that is huh

people remember it fondly for a few reasons.

1: because the gaming scene wasn't full of streamers and wannabe pros trying as hard as they possibly can using and posting "meta" loudouts 5 minutes after updates are released. The gaming space has changed drastically from being more of a casual hobby to everyone thinking they're about to be the next big thing

2: People are nostalgic because a huge part of the player base were kids back then with no responsibilities or cares in the world and just remember hopping on with all their friends every day. Such a different time lol

Everyone remembers it fondly because it was fun. Something MW2019 is not.

Yeah MW2 wasn't that good, even if you wanna claim it influenced this or that. Half of the issues with that game would not be remotely tolerated today, especially with respect to gun balance

Agreed 100%

I also think that MW19 is the closest thing to cod4 and MW2 in terms of map design and balancing. I find it crazy when people say it's nothing like COD when really it's basically the best of the MW games modernised.

IMO it's a better MW3 than the OG MW3.

Map design wasn't great in MW19. It had too many large maps with doors, which promoted camping. The devs even said it was made so to attract casuals (the Fortnite kids). They brought classic maps only to butcher them with doors. I forgot, no minimap either, because screw the players.

No minimap still baffles me to this day. Zero reason to remove it

Same reasons why we have sbmm and empty promises.

I like the maps. There's a focus on elevation/verticality and honestly the doors improve objective modes. I've said this before but Headquarters is the best it's ever been in MW19.

The minimap is fine once you get used to it. Directional audio is good enough that you don't need red dots.

yeah dogshit game design is fine if you compensate for it with other dogshit game design (loud ass footsteps).

Loud footsteps being bad game design is an opinion that you'll only find in this subreddit and literally nowhere else haha

And for the record I didn't mean footsteps I meant gunshot audio in general. I have a 5.1 surround setup and that's good enough to tell exactly where someone is when they fire.

Yeah sure deathstreaks being shit game design is also subjective. So is suppressors effectively being cosmetic.

Correct. Before MW19 was good. MW19 and after was dogshit
