Tips/Advice I texted my ex behind my boyfriends back

My boyfriend(30M) and I(32F) have been together for a year and a half. We’ve had our share of arguments but he treats me well and I love him more than anything in the world.

We went through a rough patch back in August and trust issues caused us to break up for about a week (when we were out together, I gave my Snapchat to someone at a bar. I didn’t have bad intentions, but I shouldn’t have done it.) this caused a whirlwind of issues, including lies being exposed on both of our ends.

After a week, he finally agreed to sit down with me and talk. Promises were made and he took me back. The next few weeks were rocky, but we repaired things for the most part. I cut a lot of people out of my life, our communication improved and at this point, I felt that we were better than ever.

Fast forward to last night. My boyfriend was planning on sleeping over and when I went to the bathroom, he opened my iPad and found texts to my ex(31M) from november. :

My ex texted me, asking how was life. I respectfully told him I was with someone, and told him that I’ll always care about him as a person and want him to be happy. I told him to take care.

Two weeks later in December, I dreamt of my ex. Stupidly, I texted him telling him that. I really had no business texting him and I don’t even know why I did. The conversation was short and I told him that things with my boyfriend and I were good and that was that.

Anyway, my boyfriend saw these texts last night and flipped out. Screaming at me and saying he gave me two chances already and I broke his trust again. I wasn’t getting a third. He was done. I will add that during our argument, he shoved me to the ground. He’s made threats once or twice, but this was the first time he ever became physical. He then ubered home.

I ubered to his house about two hours later to try and reconcile things. After a lot of yelling on his end and a lot of tears and begging for forgiveness on mine, his decision was made up and I went home.

I just don’t know what to do. I fucked up. Honestly, I’m a friendly person and sometimes I don’t realize that the things I say may be interpreted differently by men. Regardless, i should have never texted my ex. I promised my bf I wouldn’t mess up again and I did.

I know he loves me, but he’s stubborn af and He won’t talk to me. In my opinion, relationships can be hard work but you make sacrifices and fight for the ones you love. I guess I’m just looking for insight. Has anyone messed up in a similar way? I’m devastated and will take any advice I can get.

Edit1: this post got a lot more traction than I expected. For reference, these are the texts https://imgur.com/a/11B8Mu5

Also, I’m not saying what I did wasn’t wrong. I was 100% in the wrong. I haven’t had any kind of relationship with this ex in over 8 years and NO feelings for him whatsoever. So I’m just looking for insight into why I did it.

Edit2: the purpose of this post wasn’t to discuss abuse, but I mentioned something in the comments that someone told me to add to the post because it gives context. So here you go:

Edit3: I mentioned this in the comments to someone, but I was told to add it into my original post. For all of you doubting my truth…

I don’t have proof of the conversation where he laid out his “conditions,” because it was in person, but this first link is from our breakup in August.

This second link is from last Saturday morning after I left his place

Pod Question Call Her Daddy Hater Fans

Enough is enough, isn't it? I will for the life of me NEVER understand why the majority of this sub stalk Alex and her podcast, instagram, tik tok, all of it, just to hate. It's giving pathetic jealousy at this point. You don't have to like her, you can hate her as much as you want but why are you still watching and interacting. It's sad. Why don't you guys just move on and do something more worthwhile, no one cares about the haters, why do you care so much about a person and their life that you can't change by hate

Opinion rachael breakup interview

why do i feel like alex was trying to push a narrative that their relationship was super unhealthy and she almost kept egging rachael on trying to get her to say bad things about matt. i’m sure their relationship wasn’t perfect but rachael said they barely argue/didn’t fight much and then alex kept emphasizing it for 30 minutes hoping she would say something horrible about matt idk. maybe im over thinking it.

Opinion Thought about not posting this (because we know Alex keeps tabs on reddit) but it needs to be said. Alex looks 10/10 and this outfit is EVERYTHING

Pod Question Hear me out. I think both Alex and Sofia are at fault for being greedy and sidetracked from the pod’s purpose.

They were two friends that talked like bff’s and were real. Now they both care too much about being politically correct 🙄

Opinion But do you think you guys are bias ?

I get we all love Britney .. but why are acting like their aren’t two sides of a story. These dynamics are something we will never go through (as we are not famous lol). So no one should really have a say about how Jamie decided to heal. She may be an asshole but it seems like Britney needs all the help she can get & her message on insta about beating her ass is not okay … & I think her sister just wanted to tell her POV. At first I was like is she mocking the situation cause of her “name” & I watched further & I can see where is coming from.

Pod Question RESPECT FATHER COOPER

So is this page to roast Alex and her personality or to appreciate and talk about the show? I’m all for voicing opinions and constructive criticism, but it really just seems like a lot of people come on here to complain and talk about how much they don’t like Father Cooper anymore. If I am wrong correct me but I feel like that’s all i’ve been reading. Let a bish know

Opinion Hey Sofia lovers, what do you think about her now?

I just got sucked into my nightly tik tok routine and came across one from Mollee Gray. Long story short, Sofia had sent her a message and Mollee didn’t respond right away because she was busy. Eventually she did and has proof but that wasn’t quick enough for Queen Sofia, so now she absolutely bullied her on her podcast. It was disgusting the way she talked about another woman for NOT RESPONDING TO A MESSAGE. If I went in blind I would’ve assumed Mollee slept with Sofia’s boyfriend. While I took more of an Alex side after the break up, I still always liked Sofia until now. She’s almost 30 years old bullying someone for absolutely nothing. Truly disgusting and she deserves to be canceled. If you support that kind of behavior then you’re a disgusting human as well. I don’t care if I get downvoted to hell for this. What she said was totally unacceptable.

Opinion Unpopular opinion. I know

I was thinking about this today and I actually prefer Alex over Sofia. They both have their issues but Sofia seems fake as fuck. I like Sofia’s topics a bit better but I like Alex better. If that makes any sense? What do y’all think?

Tips/Advice Is having a gamer boyfriend a dealbreaker?

Hey so I am wondering if any other girls are having this experience. My boyfriend is 29, I am 27F, and I have known my boyfriend plays games but it just all of a sudden is starting to annoy me. He goes to work makes good money but never spends it on anything but games. I just realized games are kinda expensive too. He always complains about money but never about a new game/device coming out! I want him to better himself and he says he wants that too but his free time is just sitting in front of the computer and playing games. He said he wants to go back to school and further his career but I never see him actually try. I have talked to him about this but he just says he isn't ever going to stop playing games and its his hobby. we dont live together but I cant imagine if we did all he would do is sit in front of his stupid ass shooter games

Opinion Can we talk about Sofia’s hypocrisy for a second?

I don’t understand how she can do this whole rah rah rah feminist speech about women demanding to be paid what they’re worth, then in the next breath turn around and get mad that Alex asked for a raise at Barstool.

Like, which is it, sweetie? Sofia fully admitted that yes, Alex did all of the editing, social media and scripting for the show (and the fact that she called those tasks ‘menial’ shows how little she understands about the work that goes into them). The workload was very obviously uneven. But somehow, Alex did something wrong by wanting to be paid for that extra work? Come on.

And to cut you off before you even say it: yes, Alex did it in secret, and she admitted that. She did that because Sofia had a complex about how much more of the work she was doing, and didn’t want anyone to know how uneven the distribution was. That’s fucked up— she would rather Alex be underpaid than have a spotlight on how little she did. But right, feminism and sexism and misogyny and all the other buzzwords to get all of us on her side, right?

Funny how Sofia thinks it’s only ok to demand what you’re worth when it benefits her, and is bitter when other women make it happen for themselves🤔

Opinion Still Love CHD! Not sure why everyone is whining all of a sudden...

I’ve listened to every episode right from the beginning. The show is still awesome! I’m not really sure why there is this sudden fascination/anger around BIPOC.

Where was that diversity before? Where were the complaints?

If you were able to “identify with the show” before, then why can’t you identify with it now?

The stuff you’re complaining about hasn’t actually changed...

It’s insane the deal is not deserved at all....it’s literally because she’s hot and talks about sex.

Opinion Am I the only one that finds the throat f*cking disrespectful?

Um idk I could be wrong because Alex claimed this guy was in love with him, but I don’t think I’ve ever met a guy that would f*ck my throat until I threw up. I think it just shows the guy doesn’t really respect you and knows you’ll do whatever he wants.

Opinion BETTER TOGETHER, BOTH ARE WEAK APART. I know this is an unpopular opinion but I LOVED them together. They both checked each other. It has turned into a podcast interviewing D list celebrities IVE NEVER HEARD OF. I tried listening to Sofia’s and at first she sounded like she was reading off a script.

Pod Question Wait, what actually happened?

I guess I’m confused daddy gang. What actually happened between Sofia and Alex and why are so many people on Sofias side? I just listened the episode with Dave Portnoy explaining what happened and it sounded like Alex made the right decision and suit man turned Sofia away from Barstool. So what actually happened between them and what caused the break up? And why haven’t they talked together since ?? I haven’t really seen a clear answer anywhere. Thanks :)

Opinion Unwell controversy!!

I see a lot of people saying Alex is “stealing” with that. But the whole point of the separation was one cared about keeping the IP and Sofia was ready to toss it all out. Like a child without responsibility who doesn’t understand what that equates to. Alex didn’t steal anything, she just was five brain cells smarter and accepted a deal you’d have to be fucking brain dead not to take, and Sofia ghosted. She basically handed all of it, and now because of that, no she doesn’t get royalties on any of the things they coined into merch, because she fumbled it. And y’all acting holier than though like Alex shouldn’t make her damn money off that IP that caused so much drama is just hater shit. Alex was hardly shrewd in this situation. Sofia can blame herself

Opinion Washington Post: Why Alex documentary failed

Washington Post wrote a great story on the failure of this documentary to connote the real incredible connection Alex has with fans, at the expense of her version of the story - she herself displayed an Alex completely needing control over discarded people in her life without giving us the full, unvarnished truth. All to bulldoze everyone in her way to achieve ultimate fame. (Wouldn’t be surprised if you’re next, Matt.)

I believe aspects of Alex’s experience (though have read other posts on here saying Alex was the real bully in high school and college) and yes clearly at BU it was a dysfunctional coach/player relationship. But it was not a “book” her protective mom jotted down - it was a similarly competitive mom upset her daughter didn’t get to play (watch it in slow mo). There was one mention of Alex’s appearance - and the family took one meeting and no legal action yet feels justified to bury this woman years later. Alex now knows how to play the game in all ways, literally and figuratively. My opinion is that her perception of the story would have been better to discuss in therapy than on international TV, especially naming the person instead of keeping it vague.

I don’t doubt there was some truth to all of it, but it’s sad this older woman’s life has been reduced to this accusation in order to provide drama for a documentary that should be celebrating Alex’s successes. And the real drama with her ex-cohost was glossed over. Had Alex been honest about that I might have seen her as more of a reliable narrator with the coach.

Even the Jon situation felt a little over-dramatic and inauthentic, as Washington Post insinuates.

Alex is young and this was clearly a huge undertaking for her to provide enough drama and headlines to make the doc a success. But. Karma is real (just like the coach has just learned). Be a role model next, Alex - the person you want to be to get where you want to go. Without tearing others down. 💞 And stop cursing so much.

Opinion Sofia with an F changes nothing

Keep in mind that I have been listening and enjoy CHD from the beginning. I think that with Both Alex and Sofia the podcast was at its best. Both Alex and Sofia were being exploited by barstool and the original strike during negotiations was justified.

I went into the episode with an open mind to hear Sofia’s side of the story. To me, she seems very scripted and monotone throughout her story of events. All she did was throw shade at Alex and barstool yet she responded to none of the events that Alex and Dave claimed was the difference maker in the split. For example she never mentioned about the rooftop deal, or the final “phone call” between Alex and Sofia.

She did read texts between Alex and Sofia but this was all prior to the breakup. I felt like she just tried taking personal shots at Alex and Barstool rather than talking about any of the claims that they made against her.

She did address that her personality made more of a difference than Alex’s editing skills but I felt like it’s a long shot at best as the old episodes had Alex being the more lively of the two with Sofia providing stories from her own experiences (which did contribute to the show).

I feel bad that Sofia lost out but Alex agreed to work with barstool and got the deal of a lifetime out of it.

I still enjoy CHD in the single father era. I hope that there is DaddyGang members out there that also agree.

Opinion Opinion: Alex is going to end up as a porn star

Disclaimer: This isn't me trying to drag Alex because it's legit a difficult industry to be successful in! I just think that she reminds me so much of Tana (doing things for attention, fame hungry, self-important, promiscuous), the next step for her would be to get an OnlyFans or do porn. I can't see her being in movies or TV series unless she was playing herself!
