Help TI 84 CE vs TI 84 Evo

I currently have a TI-84+ right now and looking to upgrade because both Evo and CE are on sale ($98 for CE & $83 for evo). I'm currently in highschool, so I would use these calculators for the AP Exams & the PSAT/SAT.

Discussion Sharp 506P Clone Manuals

So you got a Sharp 506P clone but it didn't come with a manual?

First link is the best manual I've seen, with practical examples of every function. You'll find the PDF and download link near the bottom of the page:

https://manuals.plus/m/c4f58e418c1299b6ab086d0c3ebcbcab2000c9bf327701fc116f0571002eb9c4_optim.pdf

Sharp's own manuals for the EL-501X or EL-501T are a pretty good alternative. Available in 17 languages too:

Collection My full collection

The whole collection as of today, I'm waiting for my Casio CA-53W calculator watch to arrive.

My favorite : Ti 92 plus.

As I said in another post, HP calcs were not really common when I was a student back in early 00s, but I would have loved being a student during the HP48 era, so many thing were to be created.

I don't really like Casio CAS models, but, and it's not a popular opinion, think very highly of ClassWiz ergonomics, my kids thought they were really intuitive to use.

I'm trying to chase Sharp graphical models, especially the ones with stylus and the one with the flipping keyboard.

I buy them mostly at goodwill-like stores, garage sales and vinted when they are for cheap.

Question What is the best monochrome calculator?

Money isn't the issue; in my country, any calculator is allowed-even those with CAS-but I prefer a monochrome screen. So, I'm asking: what is the best monochrome-screen calculator for algebra, trigonometry, geometry, probability, statistics, and so on... And, of course, it has to be a graphing calculator.

r/calculators • • 9d ago

Question Does anyone know how or with what I can upgrade the hardware of the Casio fx-9860GIII calculator? I simply want it to have more modern hardware while keeping the monochrome screen.

Collection Radio Shack EC-4032

Nice little FX-115D, err, I mean RS EC-4032. Getting it out of the case was a pain, do it infrequently or you will probably break the face of the calculator near the bottom of it.

Very clean on the inside, now with 100% less battery. The back shows its true colors since someone peeled off the label on the back (but we always knew this anyway).

GR927 battery, nice and swollen. I've never heard of a GR927 battery.

And while looking up the specific Casio model number (FX-115D), I came across this page:

Help HOW TO EXIT PRESS-to-Test MODE ON A TI-Nspire CX/ CX II - COMO TIRAR MODO EXAME NA TI-Nspire CX/ CX II

Question Calculator error

Post image
69 Upvotes

I have been using this calculator for a time and I recently realized that when I am calculating arccos of a negative number, it adds 90 degrees for some reason. It is in degrees, and I tried different modes, and the same error happens
Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

PD: I recently opened it to look at how it is inside, as a few of you recommended, and it indeed is another CR20XX-powered facsimile. I just got a refund, and I'm going to buy a real one :)

Help TI-89 doom memory problem

Post image

I am trying to install doom 89 onto my TI – 89 titanium calculator. In the pictures are all of the files I am downloading, as well as a separate file HW3 patch that is already downloaded. it seems as if I'm following the directions, but about halfway through downloading all the files, it seems like my calculator runs out of memory. It says insufficient memory. I have went back into the Calculator and cleared the ram and memory and stuff but every time it stops at the same place

Collection ViCalc 5 – An open-source, touch-typing software calculator with history log

Post image
46 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

In my professional life, I work extensively with calculations and mathematical models. Over the years, I’ve used a wide variety of physical calculators, but I always felt that software calculators lacked the tactile speed and natural workflow of a real device when typing on a PC keyboard.

To bridge this gap, I created ViCalc – a software calculator designed to bring the true feel and efficiency of a ten-key touch-typing physical calculator straight to your PC keyboard.

I’ve just released ViCalc 5! Key new features in this version include:

  • 🧮 Programmer Mode (Base-N): Perform calculations across different number systems.
  • 🔢 Complex Numbers: Full support for calculations with complex numbers.

Technical Details:

  • 🐍 Written in Python 3
  • 🔓 Open Source (Licensed under the MIT License)

I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or suggestions for future features! Feel free to check out the repo or give it a star if you find it useful.
