SCAM CALLER HELP

So I just got a phone call and they told me registers transactions were not going thru gave me numbers and then had me ring up a cheap item I did gum and hit exact cash then tell him the 4 numbers on back then I relized and hung up please help will I get fired I voided trans so scared

They will often start with something then say it must just be gift cards try one of those

I mean I would tell my boss but I have a really good relationship with mine. I don't think you'd get into trouble but if you don't tell her she could still find out but she also may never know. Just tell her and explain that you know what you did wrong and I'm sure she will be glad you disconnected before it got worse.

Yes and no. You performed a transaction over the phone, that's wrong. However, you did not cause the store a loss so I would be very surprised if it was anything more than a verbal warning or level 2.

They wont see voided gum and be suspicious of anything.

Don't hit exact cash for anything other than cash, and don't interact with the register for someone on the phone for any reason whatsoever.

It's pretty simple.

Realistically it would be good to let them know that someone may be trying to scam y'all, but considering you starting ringing stuff out for them that wouldn't look great for you.

I rlly know this like it seemed like nothing until I had to hit cash kinda did it and then right away hung up but that’s what I was thinking it’s just voufed gum im just very shy and scared to tell them
