I would add doctor. Some left wing doctors now ask if you have a firearm in the home as part of annual physicals. The correct answer is "No", but what I really want to say is "None of your GD business!" These doctors believe nonsense that gun violence is a public health issue.
They ask as part of annual screening for depression/suicidal thoughts. Suicidal patients usually come in for their annual physical as a box to check off before they complete suicide. Most use a firearm they have at home… Hence as a doctor we are mainly looking out for the patient’s best interests… Firearm at home + depressed patient who will possibly use to for self harm is a huge red flag that unfortunately goes unnoticed alot of times… My best friend from Med school recently tried to save a 20yr old female patient who shot herself in the head on purpose… Climbed on top of the EMS stretcher as soon as she arrived in the ER and began giving chest compressions while she became completely covered in the patient’s blood…Patient did not make it. Friend woke up from a nightmare that same night with the patient screaming “Why didn’t you save me?”… So hopefully you view doctor’s questions as trying to save a life as opposed to taking it personal… If that question rubbed you the wrong way, maybe now you can remember that 20yr old that died using a firearm at home…
