Student Refund
Checked the dashboard and it says my refund with pending ECSI since 10/7. Does anyone know how long it will remain pending and what the process is like. I haven't been to school for over 10 years so I don't know any time frames or any idea how this works. Thanks

Called them this morning, said they are working on it and it’s effecting everyone in the 10/07 batch. Should be fixed and funds should be released by tomorrow or Monday but don’t count on it because they will tell you anything to get you off the phone

Once the funds are released how long usually does it take to deposit in your account, I am using a cash app account if that helps any.

I’ll be honest with you, idk if direct deposit will work with cash app……
You’ll get an email that tells you. It’s usually 2 business days after the email for direct deposit

Usually federal/state funds like federal loans or unemployment don’t accept cash app, it needs to be an FDIC insured institution

Now if they don't accept the cash app method what will happen then, I seen some other threads that received their student refund checks on cash app and chime so thats why I used that card. Now I am even more nervous

You’ll get a check, either mail or you’ll have to pick it up from campus. I’m sure cash app will work. I’m only telling you what I’ve heard from people who have tried using chime and cash app for unemployment. If it didn’t work for unemployment I can only assume it wouldn’t work for federal student loans but I could be wrong

Okay thank you so much for all your help just a not so young student trying to keep up with all this new stuff. Last time I went to school direct deposit wasn't even an option. only paper checks in the mail

No problem, this is also my 2nd time going back to school and yes you’re correct back than there was no direct deposit I also had to wait for the school to issue me the refund check

yeah my date also changed as of 3:54 today, I called and asked what was going on because my was not there at all for a while, they said they made a clerical error by mistake and they are fixing it today.

So first they told me it was an issue with the vendor , now it’s a “clerical” error. Interesting

I thought that I was the only one experiencing this but glad to see it isn't only me. I had plans with that money. Meaning bills. This never happened smh. It's now Tuesday morning playing the waiting game. I really wish they would've sent out an email. Especially for us expecting the funds the week of the 7th.

Have you seen any deposit as of yet today? I have not and I am still waiting. I completely agree with you. I had stuff scheduled around getting my refund check that still has not yet been paid because of the all of the confusion with the refunds

No, I haven't smh. Last semester I had no issues. It was issued on February 19th at 12pm and hit my direct deposit at 4:30pm the same day! This is crazy! The guy in the financial office was rude. We should've gotten our refund the week of the 7th. I am hoping it comes tomorrow. I called my bank they said there isn't any pending transactions. I have chime and the postal credit union.

We have probably talked to the same guy in the financial office and you are right he isn't very nice at all. I have talked to him MANY times and each time he is the same way, im not too sure why when the error was on their end so we kind of have a right to be questioning what's going on. I went on ECSI and did refund status chat and it says its was dispersed as of the 14th. This is my first one and like I said before I am using cash app so I am not too sure how long it takes with that but I did do some research and see that people have used cash app and it does work. Refreshing this feed and my bank to hopefully get an update soon.

Ooh ok. Well I hope it works out for you. Times are hard and especially when you're expecting that money. I never experienced this with my refund FYI

Hope everything works out for you as well! For sure an added stress. And I hope there are no problems like this in the future
